It was the tenth time she caught him staring at her. She always thought he hated her, well not her in particular, but Weasleys. She heard from one of her friends that Malfoy fancied her, well her friend heard it from someone else, who heard it from someone else. In other words she had more of a chance of shagging Justin Timberlake then Malfoy liking her. In years past she never really gave Malfoy a second thought, but now that she was paying more attention to him she noticed he was rather good looking, okay, hot, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t still a git…right?
“Weasley, you and Malfoy are paring up together.” Snape ordered. Ginny looked up startled, she forgot that she was in advanced potions. She gathered her stuff and went to sit by Malfoy. They waited quietly for Snape to finish pairing everyone up. Ginny stole glance at Malfoy out of the corner of her eye. He seemed neither pleased nor disgusted that they were partnered together. His face was expressionless. Ginny bit her lower lip. The class was going to be 2 hours long, and she had a feeling it was going to be very interesting.
But I need to hear it
Straight from you
If you want me to
Believe it’s true
When everyone was paired up they gathered their materials. Ginny looked up at the blackboard for the ingredients for a veritaserum. The ministry had granted the school permission for the advanced potion class to make them. Malfoy got up to get some more boomslang and that’s when Ginny noticed Pansy Parkinson staring at her.
“What is Parkinson? Have you finally figured out what 2 + 2 equals?” Ginny said acidly. Pansy merely smirked.
“You’ve grown up Weasley; lots of guys have seemed to have noticed also.” She said smugly. Ginny raised an eyebrow.
“What are you going on about? Are you hitting on me?” She asked as Malfoy took his seat by her. Pansy turned her attention towards him.
“Ooo, Draco, playing with fire now aren’t we?” She smirked.
“I maybe playing with fire Pansy.” Malfoy began.
“But at least he doesn’t have to play with himself to get some action.” Ginny finished with a sneer. Pansy scowled and went back to her potion. Ginny turned to Malfoy and smile. Surprisingly enough he smiled back. Oh my gosh! Did I just have a warm fuzzy moment with Draco Malfoy?!
I’ve been waiting for so long
it hurts
I wanna hear you say the
words, please
They worked in silence, just cutting up ingredients and adding them to their cauldron. Ginny looked up and saw Harry and Blaise working together. She sighed. She had been waiting for so many years for Harry to say he loved her, but last year, in her fifth year when he finally told her she didn’t feel anything. It hurt to finally hear those words but not feel anything but pity for him. She had told him that she didn’t feel the same way; he looked as though he was in pain. Ginny loved him, but only as a brother.
“Your potion should be an acid green now, let it brew for 45 minutes before adding the second half of the ingredients.” Snape ordered. Ginny finished cutting up her ginger roots before sitting back. Snape walked up to their potion.
“Good job Malfoy, 10 points to Slytherin.” Snape said and went on to the next pair. Ginny glared at him. He didn’t even acknowledge her. She felt her anger rising as he criticized some other potion.
“Don’t hurt yourself.” Malfoy sneered. Ginny glared at him.
“Shut up.” She snapped. Malfoy looked taken aback.
“I wasn’t trying to be mean.” He said.
Don’t, don’t let me be the last
to know
Don’t hold back,
just let it go
I need to hear you say
You need me all the way
Oh, if you love me so
Don’t let me be the
last to know
Soon everyone was waiting for their potions to brew. Ginny felt many pairs of Slytherin eyes on her back. She could have sworn they were all talking about her in hushed voices. Saying things like:
“He said he needed her.”
“Even loved her.”
“But I thought he hated her?”
“I heard it started when she cursed him in his 5th year.”
“That’s an odd reason to love someone.”
Ginny brought her attention up to the clock. They had 30 minutes left to wait. She bounced her leg up and down impatiently.
“Someone’s a little antsy.” Malfoy whispered in her ear. She felt his lips linger on her ear. She suppressed a shuddered and turned towards him, his infamous smirk firmly placed on his oh-so-smoochable lips.
Your body language says so much
yeah, I feel it in
the way you touch
But ‘til you say the words it’s
not enough
c’mon tell me
you’re in love, please
Ginny felt Malfoy’s leg rub against her, making her realize just how close they were. She was about to scoot away when he brought his hand to her thigh and started to caress her. A slow blush began to creep into her cheeks. She looked around, but no one was watching. While looking straight into his eyes she opened her legs a little farther, letting him caress her inner thigh. He took the invitation, while being careful to keep his hands away form going under her skirt.
“10 minutes.” Snape yelled startling Malfoy you removed his hand from her thigh. Ginny felt extremely disappointed and started calling Snape horrible names under her breath. She heard Malfoy chuckling softly.
“You know what Weasley? I kind of like you.” He smirked.
“Like isn’t what I want, Malfoy.” She said softly.
Don’t, don’t let me be the last
to know
Don’t hold back,
just let it go
I need to hear you say
You need me all the way
Oh, if you love me so
Don’t let me be the
Last to know
“Call me Draco.” He said and turned his attention back to the potion. Ginny felt as though she could fly. At that moment she knew she wanted him, loved him, it wasn’t like how she had felt about Harry this was more of a primitive felling, as though they had been together before.
“You may now add the 2nd half of the ingredients.” Snape told the class. Draco and Ginny both obeyed. “Who ever have done this may stir their mixtures then leave, the potion needs to brew for an hour, come back after dinner.”
Ginny and Draco left the room along with Hermione and her partner. Ginny felt awkward walking next to Draco. So she fell back and walked with Hermione. When they went through the doors they took a seat at the very end of the Gryffindor table. Ginny was extremely hungry, so she took a little bit of everything. She lifted her goblet to take a drink.
“What’s going on between you and Malfoy?” Hermione asked suddenly. Ginny spluttered.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She said sheepishly. Hermione merely smiled which angered Ginny.
“I saw his hand on your leg.”
“Well that’s Malfoy for you, being an asshole as usual.” She said in a cold voice. Hermione looked convinced and went back to eating while Ginny looked over at the Slytherin table.
C’mon baby, c’mon darling
ooh yeah
C’mon, let me be the one
C’mon now, oh yeah
After dinner Ginny walked back to the potion’s room to bottle their potion. She turned to Professor Snape.
“When are we going to be testing these?” She asked.
“Tomorrow, but you will not be consuming them. You will be making another potion that will tell if you made it right.” He said coldly. Ginny shrugged and went up to Gryffindor tower. She said the password “Charcaradon Carcarius” and walked in. She was about to walk up the stairs to the girl’s dormitory when she was stopped by Ron, who didn’t look very happy.
“Ron do you have something lodged up your ass or is this just a result of sexual frustration?” She asked acidly. She was not in the mood for her brother’s complaining, she was tired and wanted to sleep. But Ron ignored her.
“What’s this stuff I’m hearing about Malfoy liking you?” He demanded. Ginny suddenly felt as though her heart had doubled in speed. If Ron had heard something about Malfoy then maybe it was true. Ginny shook her head, she wasn’t going to go all giggly school girls now, and she was going to wait until Draco said something.
“Um nothing.” She said and ran upstairs. She could hear Ron calling her back. While taking off her clothes she thought about how she could go from liking Mr. Right to liking, no loving Mr. Right Now.
I need to hear you say
You love me all the way
And I don’t wanna wait
another day
I wanna fell the way you fell
Oh, c’mon
Ginny woke up early that morning to make she look just right for potion’s class that would be taking place right before lunch. She took a shower, magically dried herself and put her hair into sexy curls. Walking over to the closet she picked on of her new Hogwarts robes that were guaranteed to ‘enhance your curves’. She got them from her mom for her birthday. When she finished getting dressed she put some peach lip-gloss and light gray eye shadow to give her eyes a smoky look. She took one last look in the mirror before leaving for double advanced transfiguration.
“Now everyone when I say so, pleases pair up and works on this spell.” McGonagall instructed. Ginny looked over at Hermione and winked, she smiled back.” You will be given the rest of class time to perfect it, it you don’t get it, then you have homework tonight, okay, everyone pair up.”
Ginny quickly got up to sit by Hermione but she was stopped by Pansy Parkinson.
“You’re with me Weasley.” She sneered and dragged her over to an isolated corner of the room. Ginny looked over her shoulder at Hermione who was immediately seized by Ron, who wanted to be her partner. Ginny let out a sigh and turned to Pansy.
“Last time I checked you hated me.” Ginny frowned.
“I never hated you; I just don’t really like you.” She shrugged.
“Then what do you want?” Ginny asked while crossing her arms.
“I want you to stay away from Draco. Draco and I are to be married an arranged marriage unless he chooses someone. Me and him are meant to be together, he is a Malfoy, and he can’t love.” Pansy said seriously. Ginny stared at her for a while before laughing. “What’s so funny?” Pansy asked, glaring at her.
“Can’t love? That’s like, impossible.” Ginny said though giggles. Pansy merely shrugged and they worked on their spells. By the end of class they were the only ones (besides Hermione) who had mastered the spell. They packed up their things and headed down to advanced potions.
Ginny took a seat in the back of the room by Hermione. When everyone came in Snape began.
“You will be making the correction potion today; you will put your veritaserum in to see if you got it right. The potion will turn green if you are right and red if you are wrong. When you are done making the correction potion it should be yellow. Now get with your partners from yesterday. You may begin.” Snape said and went to his desk. Ginny gathered her stuff and went to sit by Draco. When she sat down she immediately felt his eyes on her.
“I’ll go get the veritaserum while you start on that correction potion.” She told him while getting up. She grabbed their potion and say back down. They worked on the potion in silence leaving Ginny to her fantasies, all including Harry crying as she and Draco shagged. Ginny grinned.
“What kind of naughty things are you thinking of?” Draco whispered in her ear.
“Oh the usual.” She purred while exposing her neck to him. She felt his hot breath on her neck, causing her to shudder.
“Can I be part of them?” He whispered huskily.
“Your potion should be yellow, wait for it to settle for a bit before adding the veritaserum.” Snape said. They waited for a while before Ginny felt Draco lean in again towards her.
Don’t, just let me be
the one
Don’t hold back
just let it go
I need to hear you say
You need me all the way
“I love you.” He whispered. Ginny could hardly believe what she was hearing.
“Wh-what?” She stuttered.
“I love you.” He said simply.
“I don’t believe you.” She said softly. Draco chuckled.
“I’ll prove it them.” He sneered and pick up the veritaserum. He walked to the front of the class and took a drink. Ginny gasped. Snape looked furious.
“Sit down Mr. Malfoy! I said not to drink it!” Snape yelled, but Draco ignored him.
“Go ahead, ask me.” He challenged. Everyone’s eyes turned to Ginny.
“Do you, do you love me?” She stammered. She felt her hear pound hard in her chest.
“You’re the one for me; I don’t think I can live without you. I’m desperately in love with you, you’re my bane, my antidote, and I hope you feel the same way.” He said. The whole class fell silent. Snape was fuming.
“I-I love you too.” She choked while running to the front of the room. She threw her arms around him and they fell to their knees. They held each other for quite sometime. Nobody made a sound, probably because they were too shocked. When the bell finally rang everyone got up and left except Ginny and Draco.
“20 points from Slytherin and detention tomorrow. 50 points from Gryffindor and one week of detention.” Snape told them while walking out the door. Ginny immediately let got of Draco and stood up.
“Did you hear what he said? One week of detention for me while you only get one night! Damn him!” She yelled. Draco was very alarmed by this sudden out burst, so he did the only thing he could do to calm her down. He grabbed her face and brought her lips to his. She relaxed in his hold and brought her hands to the back of his head. When the kiss ended he continued to hold her.
“You’re father is not going to like this.” She whispered.
“Neither is you’re family.” He whispered back while sliding his hands down to her waist.
“But we’ll make it work.”
“Because.”
“I love you.” They said together.
So…baby, is you love me
Don’t let me be the last to know
