James is staring out the window with nothing to do until Lily comes to his door.
Rain trickled down James's window; it had been raining for a week now. Nothing could make bring his spirits up. The window had gotten foggy so he started to draw pictures onto it. As his finger rubbed over the cold glass water gathered around his finger and rolled down the glass. “Lily,” he whispered as he wrote her name onto the glass. “LILY,” he yelled as he saw her walking up his driveway, he ran out the door forgetting it was raining. She had been wearing a white shirt that clung to her body and a black skirt that showed every curve on her body. He ran up to her and wrapped his arms around her to keep her warm and protected by the rain. She didn't seem like she was in a hurry to get inside, her hair was in strands of wet curls. “What are you doing here,” he asked gently?
He wasn't sure if she was crying or not because her face was wet from the rain. “Do you want to go inside Lily,” he asked in a whisper? She just started walking to the door so James followed; he kept a hold of her as they walked to the door. When they got to the door James let go of her and opened the door, when she stepped in water dripped down onto the floor. “Wait here, ill get you some dry clothes to wear,” he offered. He went to his room and grabbed some jeans and a sweater, and walked back out to the hallway where Lily was. “Here, let me dry you off,” he said softly as he handed her the clothes and took out his Wand. With a flick she was dry except her clothes. She stood there staring at every movement James was making; she slowly lifted her arms for him to take off her shirt. He hesitated and slowly pulled the bottom of her shirt up revealing her pale skin. Then he pulled the wet shirt over her head he looked over her body, she was wearing a pink lacy bra. James took the sweater from the floor were Lily had placed them and put it over her. It was huge, compared to her small frame James was much bigger then she was. She reached down and slid off her skirt and James bent over to put the jeans on her. She put one foot in and then the other as he stood up he pulled the jeans over to around her waist were he found pink knickers. James then looked at Lily and smirked at how his jeans looked like they were going to fall off if she started to walk. James reached for her hand and led her into the living room and they sat on the couch. Lily curled up around James and placed her head on him. James put his arms around her and looked at her beautiful hair. Lily looked up at him and tears begun to run down her face.
“I can't stand it anymore,” she whispered as James just sat there and listened, “My family is driving me crazy, me being the only witch in the family, it's just horrible,” she continued. James lifted his hand and rubbed his hand over her cheek whipping her tears away. She stared into James eyes and begun to speak again, “I just miss everyone at Hogwarts,” her voice lowered, “but I've missed you most of all.”
“I've missed you too Lily,” James spoke up. He leaned down and kissed her cheek softly.
“Oh James,” she said softly as her gaze dropped. She leaned her head against him again. He loved the feeling of having her around him; he had always liked her for as long as he could remember but he hadn't been able to tell her. He closed his eyes and he faded off to sleep.

Lily woke up before James in the morning and decided to try and get up without waking him up. She carefully lifted his hand off of her and got up. James's eyes opened slowly as he felt that she had gotten up. “Lily,” he asked sleepily. Lily turned around to find James looking at her.
“I'm sorry I didn't intend on waking you up,” she sighed.
“Oh its okay, I'm awake now,” James said optimistically, “Would you like something to eat?”
“Sure,” Lily said as James got up. He headed into the kitchen and motioned for Lily to follow and she did. James got out a pan and some eggs and Lily sat down on a chair. “So how'd you sleep,” James asked while flipping an egg over.
“I slept ok,” she said, “How about you?”
“Sleeping with you in my arms… hum… I couldn't have slept better,” he smiled.
Lily smiled at the thought of this. “Good morning sweetheart,” James's mom said, “Who's your friend?”
“This is Lily mom she came her last night,” James said shortly.
“Oh, how long will you be staying with us,” she asked sweetly.
“I'm not sure,” Lily said quietly she didn't want to seem rude.
“You can stay as long as you like dear,” James's mom replied as she got some plates out. “James let me handle breakfast you and your friend can go get ready,” she offered. James and Lily went to his room and he handed her, her clothes from last night they had dried over night. “The bathrooms down the hall if you want to change there,” James said. Lily took her clothes and found the bathroom she changed quickly and brushed her hair with a brush she found on the counter. When she came out she headed back to James's room and found him wearing a t-shirt and some jeans. He smiled at her when she walked in.
“So what do you want to do today,” James asked?
“Whatever you want,” she replied.
“Well Sirius was planning on coming over but I can tell him not to bother,” James said.
“No, no I don't want to interrupt your plans,” she said quickly. They sat there quietly staring at everywhere but each other until James's mom broke the silence, “James, Lily Breakfast.” Lily smiled in relief and got up with James and they walked into the kitchen again. James's mom handed out a plate to James and Lily and sat one at one end of the table and she grabbed one for herself. “Dad's home,” James asked.
“Yes he got home late last night,” she said, “he'll be down for breakfast in a few minuets.”
James looked over at Lily and she was staring at him to she smiled and blushed, this made him smile.
“Go ahead you two, eat up,” his mom said. James grabbed a fork and started to eat, but Lily just sat there.

After a long breakfast filled with stories from James' father, Lily and James went outside to wait for Sirius. James sat down on the grass beneath the apple tree in front of his house and Lily soon joined him. Lily didn't know what to say really, what can you really say when you just show up on someone's doorstep un-expected. “So you just got up and left,” James broke the silence with an awkward question?
“Well… not exactly,” Lily tried to explain, “I guess you could say that, I did always tell my parents that one day I would leave…” Lily looked around, “Just, I didn't tell them I was leaving right this second.”
James couldn't stand just watching her; he needed her with every ounce in his body. He scanned her face only to see her look regretful and upset. “Are you ok,” He asked concerned as his face eased into a calm but caring face?
“Yeah,” Lily whispered trying to hold back tears. He knew something was wrong and she wasn't going to tell him. She draped her arms around him and he grasped her tightly in a hug. He closed his eyes and tried to make time stop, this is perfect he thought well almost. He knew something was bothering her and the only way he could be happy was if she was happy.
“Would you two PLEASE get a room,” Lily and James heard Sirius' joking voice speak.
James jerked out of Lily's arms and glared at Sirius. “Just kidding James, don't get your knickers in a knot,” Sirius exclaimed. James shot up and gave Sirius the worst look imaginable. “So…” James said uncomfortable. He wished he didn't already have plans so he could have just spent the day with Lily. “What do ya two wanna do,” Sirius asked. Lily looked at the two of them and simply said, “I shouldn't have bothered coming here, let alone stay here. You two do whatever you were going to do anyways.” Lily got up took her wand out, James grabbed her hand. “Please don't go,” James pleaded, as he jabbed Sirius in the side. “Oh… don't go, I have things I have to do at home, Bye” he suggested!

“I'm sorry James,” Lily sighed.
“For what,” he asked?
“For coming her without warning and ruining all your plans,” Lily explained.
“Sirius had to leave you heard him,” he commented.
“James Potter, how stupid do you think I am,” Lily said.
“You're not stupid… you're smart… you're beautiful…” James started out and faded off through the sentence. Lily blushed slightly, and looked down at her feet. “I better go still,” she commented.
“Please don't,” James begged.
“I really should,” she explained. James leaned into her and kissed her check softly. “I guess I can't stop you,” he sighed. Lily leaned over to him and kissed his lips soft and tenderly. “I guess you can't,” she teased as she turned to leave.
James stretched his arm out beside her, preventing her from opening the door. Lily just stared at him and waited for him to put his arm down, but he didn't he put his lips against her ear and whispered, “I love you Lily.” He kissed her lips one last time trying to convince her to stay here. I guess she wanted to stay by the fact she kissed him back with passion but unsuccessfully after she still walked out the door leaving James standing there.

The week after Lily had left James was a horrible mess. He felt as though he had lost the most important thing in the world to him. He had expressed his feelings to her and she just left him at his door. He didn't know where she was or who she was with she didn't even know if she was coming back to Hogwarts next week. James finally decided after 8 days of lying in his room to go out. He started walking through Diagon Alley to look for school supplies since school did start next week. As he begun walking in and out of stores his attention got caught by someone sitting on the corner but he did not realise until his full attention was on this person that it was Lily. “LILY,” he yelled as he started to run over to where she was sitting. She turned her head around to find a very happy James Potter running towards her. “What are you doing here,” he asked attentively, “Well what kind of a question is that, were have you been?”
“Around,” Lily replied softly, she didn't really seem interested in talking about anything.
“I was worried about you,” James confessed, not like it was hard to tell or anything.
“Yeah,” she said quizzically, “I'm surprised no one ever seems worried about me.”
“Well I care about you,” James explained as he joined her on the corner, “I'm sorry about your family.”
“Oh it's ok really,” Lily said, “There really happy now that I've decided to not go back to Hogwarts.”
“Wh-What,” James gagged out, “You are-aren't coming back.” His heart split in two. “You've got to be kidding me,” he said.
“Unfortunately I'm not,” Lily sighed as she shifted slightly to one side.
James' mind was racing what could he do. “James, I love you too but I just can't leave my parents its way too hard,” she explained calmly. He got up and started to walk away. This is not happening he thought this is probably some horrible dream! Please can I wake up now! “James, please don't leave,” Lily asked.
“What, you did this to me so why is it any different if I do it to you,” he yelled at her as he left.
