Where Angels Feared To Tread

by wolf33

Something's wrong with my head, 'cause I just wrote fluff. Anyways, Draco's telling about how Ginny saved him. Like I said, just your average fluff.

A/N: Really, I don't know why I wrote this. I hate fluff. But here it is, so make of it what you will.

Sunshine, what can I say?

The only thing that comes to me is five simple words: Thank God you're no angel!

Yes, that's right. You're so much more than that.

Even before I loved you, you loved me. You always knew we'd end up together in the end, and we did, all because of you.

I was worse that dead. Locked in a dark corner, where all I knew was hurt and pain and hate. Oh, the hate. My hate, my father's hate, my mother's hate, but not yours. No, never yours.

I never knew the light was there. Love was joke, until you forced me to face it. I hated you even more for defying all I had ever known, but somewhere deep inside I was grateful. Still, I dared not hope that the light could be my way out. For all you had done, I still didn't trust you.

That was the first thing you changed.

I cursed your name, my love! I told myself that I didn't need your honeyed kisses, didn't need to feel your skin pressed up against mine. Life would go on without your laugh. But my heart betrayed me, and soon I was crying out thanks that you were there. If life truly could go on, it wasn't a life I wanted to be part of.

Soon enough I loved you, but still I lied, telling myself it was only because I now needed you so. So you stopped coming to see me, and only sent me notes. My body ached and my heart cried out for your presence, but my love for you grew stronger with every passing moment. Then I could no longer hide that I was in love with you, whether you were with me, with no one, or with another.

You returned, and my heart soared as we continued our journey of love. It was happier now that you knew your love was returned. We laughed and talked and made love, and it didn't matter that everyone else loathed me, for I had you. My little sunshine.

But then my father found out.

We were forced to part so that you could flee. You didn't want to leave me, but I insisted. I feared for your life, as you feared for mine. But my well being didn't matter much to me. Only you and yours. There was no where for me to go, anyways. You were my home.

Thank God I now believed in miracles. How could I not, when God had given me you?

I don't know how I killed him. My father, that is. Or maybe I do know. I did it for you, and I did it for us. It certainly wasn't my will that gave me the courage to run that blade through his frozen heart. It had to have been yours.

From there on out, we were together. With you, I was free. With you I am still free. You, Ginny, did the impossible. You saved me from myself, and you saved me from the world. Despite the danger, you did what everyone else was afraid to do. You walked where angels feared to tread.

Thank God you're no angel!
