Make Believe Or Wanted to Believe

By Hermione Potter

This is the story of a young girl who single-handedly made her dreams come true after she became to possess the Seven Stars of Suzaku. And many powers were bestowed upon her. The story itself is a spell. The one who reads it through will be given the powers and granted a wish just like the girl in the story. Because the story begins and becomes real the moment the first page is turned...

Chapter 1: The Girl of Legend

A vision of something brown had begun to focus. Enticed with something yellow and green...

“A...A double cheeseburger! A...A triple scoop of chocolate mint, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream! And the special pork cutlet rice bowl at Omuraan’s on 2nd street!” A girl with golden brown hair and brown eyes, named Hermione Granger drooled as she imagined in her mind, twirling around, all of her favorite foods around her.

Hermione Granger had transferred to Japan from England when her mother had gotten a new job there. She lived with her older brother, Eli and her mother. Her father had passed away when she was young. In Japan, Hermione learned how to speak Chinese and Japanese, learning to write it as well.

“It looks delicious. Those, and those, and those! I love cheesecake, sushi, veggies, and rice. And I can eat it all!” Hermione squealed as she picked up her wooden chopsticks and broke them in two. As she reached the wooden sticks down to some rolls, they disappeared from her vision. Her eyes widened in surprise. Then, one by one, each dish around her disappeared, until nothing was left, but her hunger.

“Wait! Where did everything go?!” she exclaimed as she looked around.

“Give it up, Hermione Granger.” A voice in the distance called.

“A sixth year high school exam student doesn’t need food!” Another voice said.

“You should be studying! Why aren’t you studying? Study harder, Hermione!” Professor Snape scolded.

The voices started to get louder and echoed near. Books appeared around her.

Everything started to change as a French voice was heard.

‘Comment est cette phrase est-elle traduite?” Mr. Anigami asked in French.

Hermione gritted her teeth as she remained asleep in class, her dream torturing her.

Mr. Anigami walked over to her desk and asked, “Mademoiselle Granger, écoutez-vous?” as Hermione’s classmates stared at her.

“URG! GIVE ME BACK MY FOOD! I’M HUNGRY” she screamed, waking up.

“Hermione, do you know who you just hit with your desk?” Hermione’s best friend, Cho Chang asked as she casually stared.

“Umm...the...teacher?” Hermione questioned as she held the desk, the teacher on the ground very light-headed. The student’s eyes widened with shock.

             “Bingo!” Cho clapped.

             “Hermione?” Mr. Anigami called.

             “Yes, sir?”

“Stand out in the hall way now and hold that pose.” he said, passing out.

As his voice was reciting in French, Hermione stood outside with the desk above her head, her face turning red from losing breath. Finally the bells rang for school to end.

“Oww, my arms hurt.” she moaned while she stretched her arms from the heavy desk.

“Hey Herms, are you coming?” Cho called, grabbing her stuff and dusting her uniform off.

“Yeah, hold on!” Hermione called grabbing her stuff and following them out to the busy streets of Japan.

“I can’t believe anyone could sleep in class while we were viewing for exams.” Parvati exclaimed, talking to Hermione.

“They won’t let you into Oxford.” Padma joked.

“Oh. I don’t want to go to Oxford.” the brown-haired girl told.

“Huh? So where are you trying for? Padma asked.

             “Jonan.” she answered.

“Jonan?! You mean Jonan Academy?” the twin sisters exclaimed as they bit a piece off their donuts.

“Well, I sure don’t mean Jonan the appliance store!” Hermione laughed.

“Have you consulted your brain about this?” Parvati asked as they hurried through the crowds. Padma started to laugh.

“What about Cho?! She wants to go there too!” Hermione complained.

“Well that’s a whole different story,” Parvati rolled her eyes.

“Because she actually studies,” Padma answered for her sister.

“Cho? Why?” she asked her best friend.

“Because I’m a genius and you’re an idiot,” Cho giggled when they walked down the subway railway.

“Are you really my best friend?” Hermione huffed.

“Uh huh. I think I am,” Cho answered as they came onto the subway platform.

“Come on, Hermione. Come with me,” Cho urged.

“Where are you going?” she asked.

To the national library,” the Chinese girl answered.

“That sounds like you. Typical. Okay, I admit it. You are the most intelligent student in our school, Cho Chang!” Hermione declared. When they got off the train, Cho lead them into a huge building filled with books.

“Wow...it looks so official. Is the National Library actually national?” she joked. Cho stayed quiet and kept walking in.

“Hey! Don’t ignore my joke, Cho! Say something!” Hermione demanded impatiently. Cho continued to ignore her until Hermione came running after her.

“Okay, it wasn’t funny!” the brown-eyed girl admitted. Cho stopped and turned.

“I just have to return a book, so I won’t be long,” she said, holding up a blue book.

“Okay. Good,” Hermione smiled as she became focused with her thoughts.

‘Hmm. I don’t know why, but the fact that this is national makes me a little nervous.’

“Oh come on! I’m part of the nation!” Hermione exclaimed with a determined look on her face. She turned around and saw juice machines lined up against the wall.

“Ooo! They even have juice machines here! Ugh. It’s like I’ve never seen a vending machine before.” she muttered, walking into the dark section.

“Let’s see...Oops!” she exclaimed as she dropped a quarter on the ground.

As she bent down to pick it up, something bright appeared behind her. Hermione turned around and saw a big red bird flying.

“Oh! What was that?” she asked herself. Suddenly, the bird disappeared and she came face with a flight of stairs, a faint trail of red lights vanishing.

Hermione stood there for a moment, curiosity getting the better of her. Then step-by-step she climbed the stairs slowly before coming forth to a door entitled, Important Documents Reference Room.

“Reference Room, Important Literature,” she read the small print until she heard wings flapping from the inside. Slowly, she gripped the door nob, turning it, and entering.

Her eyes wandered around the dark shelves, before a voice behind her shook her out of her thoughts.

             “Hermione?” Cho called.

             “Ahh!” she shrieked.

“What are you doing in here?” Cho asked. Hermione took a deep breath before explaining what had happened.

             “A bird?!” Cho gaped.

“Yes! I heard its wings flapping. I know it was in here!” Hermione explained.

“A bird was flying in here?” Cho asked unconvincingly. Then a book dropped from the shelf, distracting their conversation.

Hermione and Cho quickly picked the book up and sat against the shelves before opening it.

“The Universe of the Four Gods.” Cho read the title.

             “What is it?” Hermione asked.

“It says it’s an ancient Chinese book,” Cho shrugged.

“I wish we knew what it said,” the English girl sighed as they read the old Chinese characters.

“And thus, the girl of legend opened the door to another world...,” Cho read.

“Wow! You’re amazing. I didn’t know you could read old Chinese!” Hermione exclaimed as they turned the page and she gasped.

“There it is! The bird I saw!” she squealed pointing at the fiery red bird she had seen earlier.

“This is the story of a young girl who single-handedly made her dreams come true after she became to possess the Seven Stars of Suzaku. And many powers were bestowed upon her. The story itself is a spell. The one who reads it through will be given the powers and granted a wish just like the girl in the story. Because the story begins and becomes real the moment the first page is turned...” Cho trailed off.

“What does it mean?” she asked, looking at Hermione.

“Don’t ask me. How should I know?” she replied. Then a red light shot from the book as the two girls screamed. As the red light engulfed both girls, a soft cry of phoenix could be heard before they vanished, the book laid open on the ground.

A/N: Hola! Well. This story is Anime/Harry Potter Crossover by the way. Please don’t flame. Be nice. I know it may be very confusing now, but it won’t be until you get more of the story. In the next chapter, I’ll be giving you a list of the characters that the HP people will be taking part as. Please and thank you for reading this fanfic! And I know, Hermione is OOC. But that was what I was trying to do, or else the whole story would be pointless and confusing for even me.

Make Believe Or Wanted to Believe

By Hermione Potter

Chapter 2: The Boy With the Ogre Symbol

Hermione and Cho lay unconscious on the ground, huddled together.

Slowly, Cho sat up with a bit of difficulty, looking up at the sky. “What was that all about?” she asked herself. Hermione slowly woke up, wincing from laying on the graveled ground.

“Cho, what happened? Are you okay?” she asked, but suddenly she gasped.

Finally, she had taken notice to where they were and looked around. The ground was dried up. There were a few trees and rocks cluttered together.

“What is this place?” Hermione asked as they observed more of the place. Suddenly, Cho nudged her hard, making her gag.

“Hey! Does this hurt much?” she asked.

“Yes! IT HURT! Check it out!” Hermione yelled, punching Cho as she yelped in pain.

“Ow, ow, ow. It hurts. Way too much to be a dream.” she decided. Hermione turned her back to Cho and looked at the desert.

“A dream with no...double-cheeseburgers or choco-mint ice cream?! It’s a nightmare!” she cried, throwing her hands up.

“All you can think about is eating, Hermione!” Cho yelled before someone had pulled her and covered her mouth.

“No Omuraan’s on 2nd Street! What’ll we do!” Hermione kept on whining as she turned around to look at Cho.

“Cho!” she yelled when she saw a man holding onto Cho and another man holding a sword.

             “He-Hermione!” she called back.

“This woman is something,” the man holding Cho laughed.

“We can sell her at top price,” the other man laughed along.

“Who are these guys?” Hermione asked herself.

“Ohhh, are you Chinese acrobats?” she asked in amazement.

“YOU MORON! We are human slave traders!” the man yelled.

             “What?!” she exclaimed.

“Well, today is our lucky day-,” the man that was holding Cho grinned before he saw Hermione charging at him and butted her head into his stomach, letting Cho slip from his grasp.

But as the man toppled to the ground, so did Hermione.

             “Hermione!” Cho called.

“Run, Cho!” she urged. Cho froze as she watched the man with the sword raised it.

“Quiet down, or else I’ll...,” he trailed off before raising a bit more then, tried to slash it down, but something caught his wrist and twisted it.

“Stop it now,” a boy demanded.

“Ow, why you...!” the man growled.

The other man pulled his sword out from his sheath and charged it at the boy.

The boy shot at him with his elbow as he began to fight them off.

Cho and Hermione watched in fear as the boy fought them, not even breaking a sweat.

Hermione looked at the boy in amazement as she watched him kicking and punching. He had long raven-black hair that was tied with orange ribbons and he had emerald green eyes with a white smile. He wore a navy blue robe with a yellow belt around his waist with maroon pants and dark blue slippers.

‘Who is he?’ Hermione thought. Then she looked at his forehead, seeing something glowing.

‘On his forehead...There’s a Chinese character on his forehead,’ she gasped.

Suddenly, a flash of white appeared and the two men fell to the ground.

“Ow, ow, ow. My arm! My arm!” he groaned.

“Boss. Boss. Run for it!” the other man yelled as they scurried away, leaving the boy standing and the girls quivering on the ground.

“Hello there. Are you two all right?” he turned to ask with a deep voice.

“Yeah. Thank you for helping us out,” Hermione and Cho gazed at him in admiration.

“Well, I prefer money to any thank you’s,” he grinned as he bent down and held his hand out.

“Huh?” the girls said in unison.

“By “huh” can I take it that you two girls don’t have any money?” he asked.

“Come on ladies, money makes the world go round!” he exclaimed.

“Psst, won’t even pay me for my help. How rude,” the boy huffed walking away.

“No one asked you to save us in the first place!” Cho said getting up and running after him.

“I may have a little,” Hermione smiled as she reached into her pocket.

“Good luck on your own, you penny-pinchers,” he waved.

“Hey! Wait! We’re lost. Tell us where we are!” Cho demanded.

Then the red light that had engulfed her and Hermione before was now appearing under her. She shrieked in fear as the red light swallowed her once more and then, it disappeared.

“Okay! This should cover it! I found some!” Hermione exclaimed, pulling out a dollar bill. When she looked up, she didn’t see Cho or the mysterious boy.

“Cho’s gone! Where’d she go? Cho! Where are you?! CHO!” Hermione called.

Back in the Important Documents Reference Room Cho had reappeared inside the room, calling out Hermione’s name, but no replies came.

She remembered the book and picked up from on the floor and sat against the shelves, her knees drawn to her chest as she began to read the old Chinese.

“Just as the girl tried to save her friend from the party of slave traders a boy with the character of the ogre upon his forehead appeared and saved them.” Cho read.

“The character of the ogre upon his forehead?!” she gasped as she remembered the symbol upon him.

“Impossible! That’s exactly what happened to us. But wasn’t it just a dream?” she asked herself as she looked at the picture of the boy fighting off the slave traders.

“Searching for the boy, the girl rode a cart to the capital...,”

Hermione laid against the big pile of hay that was on the cart, chewing on one piece, her arms under her head.

Three older men stared after her as she passed by, obviously looking at her school uniform that consisted of a white button-up shirt, a brown jacket and skirt.

“Stop staring. Weirdos,” she huffed as more people stared at her passing by.

‘Oh never mind them. Other than that, that guy from before may have been sort of handsome but he kidnapped Cho! I won’t forgive him! But still, where am I? The atmosphere is almost like ancient China like in the book. Am I in the book? Could that be it?’ Hermione thought strangely before turning her head to the busy streets and her eyes widened.

“It..It’s incredible! Like a painting. It’s extraordinary. With a city full of people, I’m sure I could find him here!” she gasped in a daze, looking at the old style Chinese houses. Then, just like that, she looked at the markets and saw the boy walking through the crowds.

“It’s him! I’ve found him. Thanks again for the ride!” Hermione said to the man that was driving the cart and jumped down.

“Huh? Who was that?” the man asked turning around.

Hermione quickly ran down the steps and gently pushed through everyone.

             “Excuse me.”

             “Pardon me.”

             “Thank you.”

As she pushed her way through she gasped when she saw an elephant in the street with a Chinese acrobat on top of its long trunk.

Slowly, she looked around at the people around her, laughing, talking, and eating.

“The people here look so friendly and full of life.” she smiled before realizing she had lost track of the boy.

“Wait! Oh no, I’ve lost him,” her eyes widened before her stomach grumbled.

Hermione groaned as she held her stomach and walked through the crowds.

“I haven’t had any supper...OH!” she started to drool as her eyes caught the sight of a pile of dumplings.

“Say, miss, it’s not nice to stand there and drool, you know.” the man in charge of the food laughed, conking her head with a ladle.

“Hey, sir, maybe you can help me. Have you seen a handsome boy with the character of the ogre on his forehead?” Hermione asked.

“With an ogre character on his forehead? Hmm..,” he murmured, as she gave him a few coins

“No. But you can call me handsome if you want!” he laughed as he held one of the coins.

“Uh-oh. I don’t think so...,” Hermione worried as she grabbed a dumpling and slowly backed away.

“Hey! What kind of money is this?! This isn’t money!” the main yelled as Hermione ran away.

“But it is! It’s Japanese 100 yen Heisei coins from the 20th century!” she yelped as she ran, going to find the mysterious boy.

“Excuse me, but have you seen a boy with an ogre character on his forehead?”

“He has the ogre character on his forehead...,”

‘Does anyone know where he is?’ she thought sadly.

Hermione sighed before sitting on a crate.

“Oh, I’m exhausted. Where’d he go? Cho...,” she trailed off before a hand landed on her shoulder and she looked up to see a man with his hair tied up in a bun and in old Chinese robes.

“Excuse me, miss. I couldn’t help but keep from watching you. Since I’m on my own too, I was wondering if I could show you around the Konan empire?” he asked.

“Konan empire?” she repeated. He nodded silently.

“So that’s what this place is called. The Konan empire...Hold on! Is this guy actually hitting on me?!” she squealed as her face turned red.

“Ohhh! He IS hitting on me! I’ve never had a boyfriend in all my 15 years of being alive and finally I’m a mature enough woman to attract a guy!” Hermione squealed again.

‘But I can’t say “Yes!” right away. The best thing to do is say no a few times...,’ she thought happily.

“Sorry, but I’m looking for someone,” Hermione said, trying to shoo him away.

“Oh, I see.” he smiled before starting to walk away.

“Get back here!” she said pulling the back of his shirt.

“You mean the guy with the ogre symbol on his forehead, right?” his smile sparkling.

“Do you really know him?” Hermione asked.

“The guy’s a friend of mine as a matter-of-fact,” the man lied.

             “Really?!” she squealed.

“Do you wanna meet him?” he asked.

             “Yes!” Hermione answered.

In the market place, two men in a restaurant were talking about Hermione.

“Did you hear?” one of the men asked.

             “About what?” the other asked.

“They say a young girl in strange clothing has been hanging around town and no one knows what to make of it,” he said.

“Oh, yeah. I heard about that. She’s the one looking for guy with an ogre shaped symbol on his forehead, right?” the man asked.

“They say she paid for some food with foreign currency and then ran off,” he replied. A boy sat a table away, a toothpick to his mouth and an ogre symbol on his forehead.

“Where’d a girl come from all by herself?”

The boy slowly got up and walked over to the table, them looking up at him.

“Excuse me for interrupting, but can I ask you something?” he asked.

             “Yeah kid?” the man said.

“This strangely-dressed girl...Was there another one with her?” the boy asked.

“Well, I don’t know all the details, but I heard she was alone when she did the dine and dish,” the man shrugged.

“Hmm, I guess it was a different girl,” the boy yawned.

Out in the alleyway, Hermione followed the tall man that was leading her for a while.

“Excuse me...How much longer before I meet your friend?” she asked.

He stopped and turned his head.”We’re here.”

Slowly, she backed away as a voice sounded.

“Well, well, well. Look what he brought this time? Something a little different too.” Then a few men came from a dark hole in the wall, each with a smirk on their faces.

“She’s a rare one. The clothes alone will fetch a high price,” the man who brought her there smiled.

“Is it true that women who travel alone are looking for excitement?” Hermione began backing away more.

“You tricked me, didn’t you?” she stuttered as one of the men, lifted her skirt up.

“It’s your fault for following him,” he laughed.

“Back off!” she yelled before punching him.

“Aww, that hurt. I think she likes me,” he grinned.

Soon, Hermione found herself against the wall, the four guys surrounding her.

‘I didn’t know they had street gangs in ancient China, too. How could I let myself get tricked by these guys? Hold it. This is ancient China. No matter what I do here, it won’t go on my permanent record! All right, then!’ she thought grinning before throwing her jacket into the air and pulling her sleeve up to reveal vaccination shot scars in her arm.

“Hey! Hey! Do you see these vaccination scars?! They have borne witness to all your misdeeds! Even if the sun decides to forgive you! I, Hermione Granger will not. I will punish you in the name of heaven. And demonstrate on you thugs the fatal blow I saw on the pay-per-view satellite program I saw three days ago! Oh yeah, the female professional wrestling challenge!” she declared as she kicked off the wall and laughed at one of the men.

“HERMIONE LARIAT!” she yelled as she elbowed him in the face.

“HIP ATTACK!” Hermione smiled as she crashed her hip into another man’s stomach.

“What the hell is she?!” one of them gaped.

“I’ve never seen martial arts like this before!” the other one said.

“BACK DROP!” Hermione continued to fight as she threw one to the ground.

“SPLASH MOUNTAIN 95!” she said lastly, crashing another one.

Smiling, she looked up and gasped in happiness. “Hey, I’m not bad. Maybe, if I tried, I could compete,” she said before a man grabbed her ankle and pulled her to the ground.

“You’re gonna get it now.” the man growled as she hovered over her.

Then he pinned her to the ground, her arms at the sides of her head.

             “Ah! Ahh!” she screamed.

             ‘No...No...NO!’ she thought in fear.

             ‘Help me...’

She waited, but nothing happened. Then a pebble hit the man in the back of the head. He winced before looking up.

“Hey! Who’s there?” he called as he saw a figure standing above them on a roof.

Hermione gasped as she saw the boy who had rescued her and Cho earlier.

“You need four men? To handle one girl?” he laughed, throwing a rock up and down in his hand.

“Come on. Let’s make the odds more even,” the boy growled as the symbol on his forehead began to glow red.

“As the girl faced peril, the boy with the mark of the ogre upon his forehead appeared and defeated all the villains,” Cho read the page as she sat in the room.

The boy charged at all four men angrily and punching them quickly. He went through each, one by one until they were all on the ground.

Hermione sat against the wall, holding her jacket and watching as the boy fought. But when she stopped hearing the yells from the men, she looked up and saw the boy standing opposite of her, smiling gently at her.

A/N: ‘Ello! Okay, so that was so...OOC and AU. You might have all guessed that the mysterious boy is Harry Potter. Obviously. Hermione is a really bubbly, optimistic, and very out-going. So this is all very confusing. I’ve got a better idea for how to tell you who the characters of Harry Potter are playing in the Anime, FY. I’ll be making a web page where you can all see who they’re playing. That might make things much easier. Please review! No flames. Thank you!!!
