It was a dark, dreary and overcast day. Rightfully so, because one of the world's greatest heroes had died this day.
Playground school bell rings, again.
Three years later, it is still hard to believe.
Gone.
It was all gone. Everything they knew.
Everything they believed.
Rain clouds come to play, again.
Standing there, in the rain, one man stood away from the others.
`It was a dream', he thinks. `It still is.'
A world of peace.
A world he would never know.
Has no one told you she's not breathing ?
Three years ago.
Had it really been that long?
All he remembered were bright flashes of light, shouts, and screams.
He remembered the defeat.
The victory.
And the blood.
Hello, I'm your mind, giving you someone to talk to...hello...
Flashback
“HERMIONE!” A girl lay limp in his arms.
End of Flashback
He shakes his head, flinging raindrops and tears in every direction.
`It wasn't real.' His mind screams at him. `It was a dream!'
“Then why do I remember?” He speaks to no one.
If I smile and don't believe
Three years.
Three years.
`Three years? Has it really been that long?' He thought.
Soon I know I'll wake from this dream
The man turns his face to the sky letting the raindrops wash away his tears.
Don't try to fix me
`IT'S NOT REAL!' His mind continues to scream at him. `IT CAN'T BE!'
I'm not broken
“It is real. It has to be. If it's not…Then why do I remember the three years? Why do I remember the pain? Why do I still FEEL the pain of that day.” He still speaks to no one.
Hello, I'm the lie living for you so you can hide...
`It's a lie! Voldemort is doing this to you! She's not dead! She can't be!'
The man lowers his head and stares at the ground.
Flashback
There was blood everywhere. It stained the ground and his hands. It tainted the air and overpowered his senses.
“HERMIONE!”
End Flashback
Don't cry...
The man continues to stare at the ground. Tears fall freely now. He cannot stop them.
He does not try to stop them.
His mind still screams that this is a dream.
It's not real.
Three years have not passed.
“They haven't?”
Are you sure?
“Then why is she dead?”
She is?
Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping
Flashback
She's not breathing. A trail of blood leaks from her mouth. He screams her name, shakes her; nothing happens.
“HERMIONE!”
End Flashback
A woman joins the man.
She is crying as well.
But she wraps her arms around his waist and hugs him to her.
Hello, I'm still here, all that's left
“It's a dream right? It has to be.”
The woman shakes her head.
Flashback
“HERMIONE!” He clutches the girl to his chest as he throws his head back and screams at the sky. People run over to him; try to pull him away from the motionless girls trapped in his arms. With a blast of pure energy he sends them flying.
“NO!”
End Flashback
“She's gone Harry. She's gone.”
“Hermione? No…she's…she's…
As the crowd parts to leave, the man and the woman can see the words on the tombstone.
“She's gone Harry. Our baby is still gone.”
Kissing his cheek, and taking his hand, Hermione leads her husband up to the tombstone.
Flashback
“HERMIONE! HELP ME!”
Alone, one woman walks towards the man.
“Harry? LILY! NO!”
The girl is still motionless in his arms.
End Flashback

A/N: Every father believes their child is the greatest person in the world. Every mother knows that their child is a hero.
No parent should ever have to outlive their child.

Author's Note:
I'm sorry about this story. I reread what I had written, and I cried. Alorkin, I'm sorry. I hope I haven't cause you any unnecessary pain. I hope I haven't cause anyone any unnecessary pain. Thank you for the reviews though. It seems that all I can write is angst. Oh well.
I was listening to the song, and the story popped into my head. The girl was originally going to be Hermione. I changed it after I wrote it. It seems so much more…powerful this way.
As a side note, Sighs has been paused. I can't think of a good way to end it. Not really. I'll be writing more, now that I'm in college and have a little more free time.
I also changed the story a little. There was a missing lyric and I added it to the story. I don't think it breaks it up any. At least I hope it doesn't.
That's all.
