Harry looked around wildly-searching frantically for any movement. The slightest movement or flicker could mean the end for the young man if he wasn't careful. Bodies littered the ground; the ones that weren't dead would so be too far along to help, and Harry knew it. He glanced around the stone again and with a deep breath dived out from behind it and rolled to a halt behind a medium sized statue of an angel. A blinding flash of light flew overhead and smashed the gravestone, which only moments ago he'd been hiding behind, into small, flying pieces of rubble that scattered over the nearby bodies. Harry breathed with a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from his brow. *flash* His hands fumbled around in the darkness for his wand. He spun around, squinting desperately into the dark at a low laugh from somewhere behind him. His fingers scrambled around in the dirt, frantically trying to find his wand. They fumbled over something long and, by the texture, Harry guessed wooden. His fingers closed around it and he pointed it into the darkness where he'd heard the laugh coming from. A twig snapping to his right made him turn and re-aim his wand. The blow came hard and fast to the back of his head. Harry fell face forward into the dirt; his eyes unfocused and his head spinning. Someone stomped on his wand hand and Harry, with a small cry as he heard the snapping of his fingers, released the wand. A swift blow to the back of Harry's effectively knocked him unconscious. *flash* The voices seemed to be talking about him, though Harry had no idea why. He blearily opened his eyes and looked around. The sterile white walls and the distinct smell of disinfectant seemed familiar, yet strangely unfamiliar at the same time. He strained his ears to hear the quiet conversation taking place outside the curtains that surrounded his bed. “Harry - wake - you never - why-” “Don't - my-” Harry sighed and slumped into his pillows - it was useless. He reached over for the glass of water on his bedside table and after taking a large gulp put it back on the table with a reasonably loud `chink'. The conversation outside his `cubicle' stopped instantly. A dark haired girl peered around the curtains. “Oh my god.” She gasped, her hand over her mouth. A red haired boy joined her, “Wha-Harry!” They stared at Harry for a moment; no one saying anything. No one hardly daring to breathe. “You're awake.” The brown eyed girl said finally. “Bloody hell mate you gave us a scare! I can't believe it. We were so worried weren't we?” The boy nudged the girl next to him. She was still staring at Harry; her eyes were wide and slowly filling with tears, “Harry.” He smiled feebly and racked his brains. The red-head started rambling and Harry was lost within seconds. “I'm sorry to interrupt.” Harry said, cutting the boy off, “But…who are you people?” There was silence. AN: There you are! It was more than 500 words so don't be mean. It's a teaser!! Review for the authoress or there won't be a sequel!! ;) -->
