From the Unofficial Portkey Archive: https://portkey-archive.org/story/3951/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Blind Disclaimer: Not mine. Never will be. A/N: This is meant to be a tearjerker. Lol. I placed this story on FanFiction.Net already, but decided to put it here because I talked to one of the moderators, Heaven. Enjoy! Will You Think of Me, Harry? By Hermione Potter Chapter 1: Blind (HERMIONE’S POV) I sat in the Gryffindor Common Room, studying for my Transfiguration exam that was the next day. Ron and Harry had encouraged me to go to Hogsmeade with them, but I declined, knowing well enough that they should have been studying as well. We were in their seventh year after all. We had to study for their N.E.W.T.S. as well. I sighed, writing down notes, when I had realized I kept writing Harry Potter over my parchment. I blushed, quickly stuffing it in my bag. I laid my head down on my arms, thinking of him. Okay, so maybe I liked him. Maybe even loved. But I don’t think I’ll ever be more than a friend to him. Who’d blame him? No one wants a plain ordinary girl like me? Suddenly someone burst through the portrait. I turned to see it was him. Harry. “Hermione! You should have come to Hogsmeade with us. But since you didn’t, I asked Isabelle to go with me. Do you remember her? The Ravenclaw girl. It was fantastic. We had so much in common,” he boasted. I concentrated hard on not crying at that moment. Isabelle Porteus. She was the most beautiful girl in Hogwarts since Cho left. Harry had been ranting about her since two months ago. I didn’t think I could stand it. Even though Isabelle was one of Ginny’s friends. Everyone knew that I liked Harry. Everyone except him at least. “She’s so bloody beautiful. Have you seen someone as beautiful as her. The way her violet eyes sparkle with that blue shade. You could just stare in them forever. Hermione, Isabelle is just so...wow,” Harry sighed in happiness. I bite my lip so hard, I felt blood seeping from it. It was the only thing I could do to not cry. “Th-That’s great, Harry. I’m really happy for you. I’m sorry, I promised I’d help Ginny with her homework. I’ll see you down at dinner,” I excused, packing everything in my bag. “Sure. See you then,” Harry grinned, winking at me. Why? Why couldn’t that smile be the effect of me? Why couldn’t I make him smile like that? Because I wasn’t Isabelle. I ran upstairs and slammed my door. I was Head Girl, So I got my own room. When I got there, I saw Ginny on my bed, reading a magazine. “Ginny...,” my voice whispered. She looked up at me and knew instantly what was wrong. “Oh Hermione. I’m sorry,” she apologized, hugging me comfortingly. I felt tears leak from my eyes. “Ginny, he’s killing me. I know Isabelle is your friend, but I just can’t believe it. Why can’t he love me? All he sees me as is a friend. A FRIEND,” I mumbled, sitting down on my bed with Ginny as she rubbed my back. No one knew I cried over Harry except the Gryffindors. In the Common Room when Harry talked about Isabelle, they knew I was breaking inside, knew that I needed comfort in a few minutes. So they’d be in my room in a flash. Once, all of the Gryffindors in my year were in my room, just being there for me. Unlike Harry. “Hermione, he’s going to realize it soon. I promise. Just let him get over his stupid blind phase. He’ll realize it soon. Everyone has been betting when you two would be getting together. Even Draco. He’s told me about all the Slytherins betting. You can’t give up on him,” Ginny explained softly, handing me a tissue, Ginny had Draco. They why couldn’t I have Harry? “Herms, it’s gonna be all right. If Harry doesn’t see how much you mean to him, he isn’t worth your tears. Ron, Luna, Draco, me, and all the Gryffindors are here for you whenever you need us. We love you Hermione. Harry may not know it now, but he’ll realize. I don’t want you to lose hope,” she said. I could only nod. “He’s a blind boy. He doesn’t know how good he has it. Give it time,” she added lastly. ‘Give it time.’ (HARRY’S POV) God, Isabelle is so beautiful. She’s friendly and so warm-hearted. She’s so different from the other girls I know. I had a wonderful today at Hogsmeade today. We shared butterbeers and laughed so much. It was like I knew her my whole life. I was sitting in the Common Room, watching the flames of the fireplace dance after Hermione had departed from it. She was acting strange. I don’t know why. She seemed distant. Really distant. I wanted to know what was wrong, but decided not to push it. I didn’t want her thinking I was a complete jerk butting into business that wasn’t mine to talk about. Then I saw Ginny coming from Hermione’s bed room that was next to mine. Like Hermione, I was Head Boy. “Ginny, do you know if anything’s wrong with Hermione?” She turned to look at me. “No. Not that I know of,” she shrugged before heading out. That was strange. Maybe it’s just my mind playing tricks on me and I’m being paranoid. I’ll just have to ask her at dinner. A/N: Pitifully short. I like to be short and sweet to the point! Please and thank you for reviews! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. Friends Till the End Disclaimer: Not mine. Never will be. Will You Think of Me, Harry? By Hermione Potter Chapter 2: Friends Till the End (NORMAL POV) Hermione walked into the Great Hall staring at the Ginny and Ron. She saw Harry smile at her and waved her to sit next to him. She smiled weakly but headed over to the other side and sat between Ron and Ginny. Harry frowned slightly. ‘Why didn’t she sit next to me? She always does,” Harry thought confused. He watched Hermione cut her chicken and chew it slowly as she spoke with Ginny quietly. Harry’s eyesight disappeared when someone covered his eyes with their warm hands. “Guess who?” a voice asked. “Isabelle,” he grinned, turning around and looking at her rosy face. “You are so smart. Almost as smart as Hermione,” she smiled, tilting her head slightly. Ron rolled his eyes and muttered only so Hermione and Ginny could hear “Slut.” Ginny’s eyes widened. “Ron!” she shrieked as Hermione giggled. Harry and Isabelle turned to them Ron’s face showing fake modesty. “What was that?” Harry asked. “Nothing,” the three said in unison. Harry shrugged as asked Isabelle if she wanted to eat with them. She accepted eagerly and sat down in the seat he saved for Hermione. Hermione sighed in sadness and felt Ron’s arm slid across her shoulder, pulling her to him. “It’s gonna be okay. Ginny and I are here for you,” he whispered in her ear. She smiled softly thinking how lucky she was to have friends like them. She felt Ginny squeeze her hand. “Hermione, do you want us to study with you?” Ron asked sympathetically with Ginny and Neville. She smiled back. “Really Ron? You asking to study? I thought I’d never see the day!” she laughed lightly. “Well there’s a first time for everything,” Neville said. “Thanks. I’d like some company,” she answered, going back to her homework. “How are you holding up?” Neville asked. She remained quiet for a few seconds. “A bit all right for now. I should be happy for him. I mean, Isabelle’s the second girlfriend he’s had. I wouldn’t be surprised if he asked her to marry him at graduation. After all, it is in a few weeks,” Hermione replied, not looking up. “You can’t be serious, Hermione! You’re not going to even try?” Ginny exclaimed. “Why should I? I can never compete with what she has. She’s gorgeous. And what am I? Plain and ordinary,” she whispered. “That’s not true. I know for a fact that more than half the kids in school have major crushes on you,” Neville told truthfully. “Thanks for trying to cheer me up guys, but it’s a lost cause,” Hermione said before Harry walked in. “Hey guys, what are all of you doing?” he asked. “Studying,” Ron answered. “Mind if I join?” Harry smiled. “Yes,” Ginny said harshly. Harry’s eyes widened his face contorted with hurt. “Oh. Well, Hermione could I speak with you?” he asked. She nodded numbly following him into their Head common room. “Are you all right?” Harry asked. “Of course, why wouldn’t I be?” Hermione lied. Harry frowned. “You seem different and distant. I was worried,” he replied. “There’s nothing wrong. And I assure you that if there was, I could handle it on my own,” she scoffed. “Well if you’re sure. I’m here if you ever need me. Friends till the end?” Harry asked, holding his arms out. “No. Best friends,” she half-smiled before hugging him. “I’m always here if you need me. Just come to me and I will always have time for you,” he whispered in her ear. ‘No. You won’t be. You’ll be too busy with Isabelle to realize I’m still alive. As long as you’re happy Harry. I am too,” she thought sadly as she wiped a tear that slid from her eye. ‘Well maybe I won’t be happy, just miserable.’ A/N: Happy birthday to me! I am officially 14 years old!!! Never will be.! Will You Think of Me, Harry? By Hermione Potter Chapter 3: Chit Chats Are More Than Chit Chats “Hermione?” Isabelle called. Hermione looked up and saw her standing in front of her. “Oh hi, Isabelle. Sit down,” she smiled. Isabelle thanked her before she sat down at the library table. “How long have you known Harry?” Isabelle asked out of the blue. Hermione looked at the girl. “Seven years. Feels like a lifetime though,” Hermione answered, not knowing where this was leading to. “Really? That’s fantastic. He talks about you quite a lot,” she smiled. “That’s nice,” Hermione breezed through. “Hermione, I’m just going to ask straight out. Do you have any feelings for Harry? And I mean more than friend feelings, because I don’t want to be in the middle,” Isabelle asked. Hermione’s eyes widened. “O-Of course not! I only love him as a friend. He’s like a brother to me,” she explained too quickly. Isabelle studied her for a few seconds before smiling. “Okay. Only if you’re sure because I don’t want to be the cause of friendship breaking up,” she replied before getting up and skipping out of the library, leaving Hermione alone. “Great. Now I can’t hate her,” Hermione whispered to herself. “Hermione!” a little girl’s voice squealed. “Shhh! This is the library! Respect it!” Madame Pince scolded. I turned to see a first year Gryffindor, Emma Garrison breathing hard. “Yes Emmie?” Hermione called her by her nickname, “Professor Dumbledore wants to speak with you!” she replied excitedly. Hermione smiled at her. “Thanks. I’ll see you soon,” she smiled, walking to Professor Dumbledore’s office. “Professor? You wanted to see me?” Hermione walked in and saw the headmaster sitting at his desk, his half-moon shaped glasses shining. “Ah, Miss Granger, please have a seat. Lemon drop?” he asked her politely, watching her sit. “No thank you Professor. I prefer orange” she smiled. “Ah, quite tasty. Now, Miss Granger, I was just owled a letter from Beauxbatons for you. It seems that afer graduation or anytime you’d like, they’d like to accept you as the Charms teacher. What do you think?” he asked her. Hermione was shocked. “Teach at Beauxbatons? Are you sure they meant me?” she asked. “Of course. I don’t know anyone else with the name Hermione Jane Granger,” Albus chuckled. “I can leave whenever I’d like to?” she replied. “Yes. Whenever you’re ready they’ll keep the position open for you,” he answered. “Well, I’ll have to think about it. I’d miss Hogwarts so much, but I’ll think about it. Thank you Professor Dumbledore!” she exclaimed running out of the office and to the Quidditch field where her friends were training. “Ginny! Ron! Draco! You won’t believe what happened!” Hermione said, stopping in front of them. “What is it?” Ginny asked, putting her broom down. “I’ve been offered a position at Beauxbatons! As the Charms professor!” Hermione answered. “That’s fantastic. But you know, what about Harry?” Ron said, his eyes darting toward Harry who was talking with Seamus and Dean. “This may be the chance of a lifetime and it’ll give me a chance to forget about Harry. Maybe I can move on. He’ll forget about me anyways,” she sighed. “Hermione, I am one to talk, but Potter’s a moron. You should realize that by now. You’ve known him for seven years. He’s a blind moron,” Draco rolled his eyes. Ginny smacked his shoulder lightly. “I appreciate the insults to Harry, but I think I should. But at the same time if I do take the offer, I won’t be able to see you,” Hermione said softly. “Oh Herms, we’ll write to each other and visit every weekend, you know that!” Ginny exclaimed. Hermione couldn’t help but smile at that. “He’s going to marry her. Why should I stick around, all I’ll be watching is my own dream. Him proposing to me would be a miracle,” she sighed. “This is your choice. At least ask Harry about it!” the red-headed girl suggested. “No, then he’ll go on about asking, “What?! Why?! Why do you have to leave?” All this codswallop. I don’t want to hear it,” Hermione wanted to cry. “He’s going to be crushed,” Ron told her. “Him?! What about me? Seven years I’ve been crushed. And that’s not enough, is it? He stomps on it and does a Mexican hat dance on it!” she yelled loud enough for only them to hear. “What’s a Mexican hat dance?” Ron asked. Ginny rolled her eyes and pushed him. “Dimwit.” [THAT NIGHT...] “Hermione, could I talk to you?” Harry said to her as he plopped down next to her on the couch in the Common Room. “Sure,” she answered tonelessly. “Well, graduation is in a few weeks and Isabelle and I have been going out for a while. I think she’s the one,” he smiled. Her eyes widened, as hurt mirrored them. She looked up at him and smiled tearfully. “That’s fantastic Harry. I really am glad for you,” Hermione whispered. “I was wondering if you could help me pick out a necklace and a...ring with me. I’m going to ask her to marry me on graduation in front of everyone,” Harry replied. “O-Of course. Anything to make you and Isabelle happy.” “That’s great! Thank you so much Hermione! I don’t know what I’d do without you. You’re such a wonderful friend,” he exclaimed, giving her a tight hug. She could feel her eyes burning, but she wasn’t going to let him see her cry. Not when he was so happy. A/N: Well...this story seems to be getting some good responses! Well keep ‘um comin! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4. True Disclaimer: Not mine. Never will be.! Will You Think of Me, Harry? By Hermione Potter Chapter 4: True “Hermione, are you all right?” Ron asked. She nodded with a soft smile. “Why wouldn’t I be?” “Herms, I’ve known you for a long time. You don’t have to put up an act for me,” he replied. Hermione couldn’t help but smirk. “Why, Mr. Weasley, when did you get so smart?” she laughed. “Hey, I had to get smart someday,” Ron grinned goofily. “But are you really considering going to Beauxbatons?” he asked. “Yes. I mean, I’ve always wanted to teach. But at Hogwarts. Maybe someday I can come back and face the truth. The truth that Harry was never mine to begin with. He’ going to propose to Isabelle. He asked me if I could help him pick out a ring,” Hermione whispered. “That doesn’t mean you’re too late. I mean, in all he’s the dolt. And I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Malfoy was right. Harry is a moron,” he said, shaking his head. “Hey, what’s that supposed to mean?” Draco’s voice said behind them. “Oh hey Malfoy! I mean Draco. How are you on this fantastic day!” Ron asked merrily. “Ha ha. I heard you so stop trying to cover it up. You’re bad at lying. You couldn’t lie for beans,” Draco grinned. “Where’s Gin?” Hermione asked. “Ah, she’s gone to talk with Luna. Really, I don’t know what’s with the girl talk. What’s the point of it all?” he asked. “Well we wouldn’t expect you to understand. You’re just a boy. Boys don’t understand the concept of girl talk. Unless you’d like me to turn you into a girl. Don’t worry, I’ll make you look pretty. You never know, maybe Ron will have the hots for you!” Hermione laughed. Ron’s face turned green along with Draco’s. “Honestly Hermione. I can’t believe you just said that,” he replied disgusted. “Well, it cheered me up quite nicely. Wow, it’s going to be so boring without you guys at Beauxbatons,” she sighed. “So stay with us! We’ll make sure to keep Harry out of your way,” Ron said. “Thanks Ron. But I think I should. It’s the only way. After I help Harry get his engagement ring, I’ll leave. I promise to owl you guys and say goodbye,” Hermione added. “It can’t be goodbye Hermione. Goodbyes mean that we’ll never see you again. It’s just a “I’ll see you around,” Ron said. “See what I mean? You’re wise beyond, well I don’t know what you’re wise beyond,” Hermione giggled. THE NEXT DAY AT HOGSMEADE WITH HARRY AND HERMIONE... “I need something perfect. Something she’ll love,” Harry explained. “Any girl would be insane not to love something from you,” Hermione sighed. “Thanks Hermione. That really cheers me up,” he smiled. “Only the best for you. Look, let’s go in here,” Hermione pointed to the inside of a jewelry store. Harry nodded in agreement and walked inside. “Is there anything I can help with dears?” a young woman said behind the counter. Oh. No. We’re just browsing for a bit,” Hermione smiled. “All right. Call me if you need help with anything. Hang on, aren’t you Harry Potter and Hermione Granger?” she asked. “We are,” Hermione replied. “This is an honor! You two are together! Amazing. I have been waiting a while for that,” the woman exclaimed. “Oh no. We’re not together. Harry’s already got someone in mind to propose to and he’s looking for a ring,” Hermione explained. “Oh. How disappointing to me. Well, here’s our section of rings. Which do you like?” she asked. Harry looked at them intently. “Oh Harry! This one would be beautiful. Isabelle would love it,” Hermione sighed softly, showing him a silver band with a dark purple amethyst in the middle of two blue topazes. “That would be perfect for her. It’d match her eyes. I’ll take it. And could you put it in a box?” Harry asked. “Of course. That will be 20 galleons,” the woman charged. Harry handed her the money and started walking out. “Be careful of what you seek and what you see. For the one important thing you have will disappear forever from your eyes,” she warned. Hermione’s eyes widened. “I’ll never let Isabelle go. I love her,” Harry grinned. “I’m glad for you Harry. I can’t wait to hear what happens.” she smiled sadly. A/N-Guess who’s back? Hehe. Her Reflection In the Mirror Disclaimer: Not mine. Never will be.! Will You Think of Me, Harry? By Hermione Potter Chapter 5: Her Reflection in the Mirror Hermione started to pack her things in her trunk when she heard someone knocking on her door. “Come in.” “Hermione?” Ginny’s voice called softly as she walked in her room. “Hey Ginny. Anything wrong?” Hermione asked. Ginny nodded and smiled. “Everyone’s worried about you. You seem so sad now. Every time I look at you, there’s this far away look I see. You’re never happy anymore,” she explained. “What is there to be happy of? Harry’s the only thing that could ever make me truly smile. And then he comes up and asks me to help him look for a ring for Isabelle! Seven years of this. If he hasn’t realized it now. He’s not going to realize it later,” Hermione replied, shutting her trunk. “How do you know that for sure?” Ginny asked softly. “Because if he knew, he wouldn’t have done this. And if he hasn’t seen me for the real me, then how can he see me later? I don’t understand. What does Isabelle have that I don’t?” Hermione ‘s voice trembled as she felt her eyes hurt. “Hermione, it’s going to be all right. I think Isabelle knows you love him. If she does, she won’t say yes and make Harry realize that what’s he’s been looking for was right in front of him all along,” Ginny responded gently. “Ginny! Hermione! Come on! Harry’s about to do something he’s going to regret,” Ron’s voice said from his door. Hermione and Ginny glanced at each other and ran after him down the stairs. They peered into the Common Room. Isabelle was in the Gryffindor Common Room! “Harry, really, I’ll get in trouble if I stay any longer!” Isabelle laughed. “Just wait a minute, love. I want to ask you something. Isabelle Porteus, will you do the honor of spending your life with me as my wife?” he proposed getting down on a knee and showing her the ring. “Oh Harry. It’s beautiful...,” Isabelle gasped, tracing the contours of the ring. They were so entranced in the moment, they didn’t hear the Gryffindor Common Room portrait open and someone slip out. Hermione ran. Ran her way through the halls, looking for a way to get out. It felt like her breath was being sucked out of her body. She had to leave as soon as possible. Or else, she wouldn’t be able to leave at all. Quickly, she walked to the gargoyle and whispered the password, going inside to Professor Dumbledore’s office. “Professor?” she called out, but no one answered her. Then she heard a soft cry and turned to see his phoenix, Fawkes. “You sweet bird. What beautiful sounds you make while singing. You’re lucky, you don’t have to go through what I do,” she sighed as she stroked the bird’s neck. She could hear him cooing in pleasure as he enjoyed what she was doing. “Miss Granger?” Professor Dumbledore asked, coming down the stairs from his library. “Professor. I came to ask...when can I leave?” “Whenever you want,” he answered simply. Hermione nodded, starting to walk out. “We will miss you, Hermione,” Albus commented sadly. She didn’t say anything, then walked out. BEFORE WITH ISABELLE AND HARRY... “I’m sorry Harry, but I have to say no,” Isabelle answered. Harry’s eyes widened. “Wh-What?” he said in disbelief. “Harry, I know you like me. But you don’t love me. Just, before you make another mistake, think about it before you make it,” Isabelle whispered. “But this is for you. I do love you,” Harry whispered with heartache. “No you don’t. I know you don’t. Deep inside, you can never truly love me. There is only one true love in your life. And she’s been here. You were just too occupied to see it. I’m sorry. But this is how it really has to be. I like you Harry. But I can’t stand in the way of REAL true love between two people who mean the world to each other and others,” Isabelle explained, walking out. (A/N: A LOT OF WALKING OUT IN THIS CHAPTER, EH?) NEXT DAY... “Hermione, please think about this before you leave!” Ginny pleaded. “Ginny, she said yes. I know she did. I promise to keep in touch with you. Don’t worry about me. I will come back. I’ll always come back,” Hermione smiled, giving her friend a long hug. “Please don’t go,” she cried softly. “I have to. Ginny, you’re the sister I never had. I’ll never forget about you. Hopefully, when I do get back, you and Draco will be married,” Hermione whispered in her ear. Ginny smiled tearfully and stepped back from the hug. “Granger. You better come back. We have 7 years to make up for,” Draco grinned, leaning into a hug and giving her a kiss on the cheek. “Oh, now how can I pass that up. Of course I’m gonna come back Drakie,” Hermione teased. “We’ll never forget you,” he said. Hermione smiled and turned to Ron. “Take care of yourself, all right?” he asked. “Promise. Take care of Ginny. And look out for Harry. Good luck with Luna,” she whispered giving him a hug. “I love you Herms. Come back to us,” he smiled. “I love you too Ron. I’ll see you again. Give this to Harry for me,” Hermione sighed, slowly coming out of the hug, and handing him a black pouch. He nodded. “I’ll miss you all. You too Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall. I don’t know where I’d be without your teachings,” she complimented. Minerva sniffled quietly and nodded. “It was an honor teaching you Miss Granger,” she said. “Good luck at Beauxbatons,” Albus nodded. “Oh ‘Ermione! We’ll be waitin’ for you when you ge’ back,” Hagrid blubbered into his dusty sleeve. “I’ll miss you too Hagrid. See you all again someday,” Hermione waved, getting into the carriage. Hermione watched them waving goodbye to her until they disappeared from her vision. “Where is everyone?” Harry asked himself that day as he sulked. “I’ll go see Hermione. Maybe I could talk to her. She understands me,” he sighed, walking up to the Head Girl’s room and knocking on the door. No one answered. “Hermione? Are you in there?” he called, but the door slowly creaked open. He walked in to find it empty. “Where is everything? All her things are gone,” Harry said to himself. Then he heard someone come through the portrait quietly. “Ron. Is that you?” he called. “Harry?” “Ron! Where is everyone? And where are Hermione’s things? Did she tell you something?” Harry asked as he saw Ron and Ginny. And Malfoy. “How did he get in here?” he added. “Since school is almost over, Professor Dumbledore allowed him inside,” Ginny answered, bluntly. “Where is she?” he asked again. “She’s gone.” Ginny said. “Gone? What do you mean gone?” “She’s left. I mean, she’s on a train back to some place,” Ron answered. “But why? Graduation isn’t until next week,” Harry said confused. “You still haven’t realized it, have you? No. You were too busy with Isabelle to notice anything,” Draco growled. “What on earth are you talking about?” “The one person who’s loved you since day one. Since that day she met us. Hermione. But you were blind, were you not?” Ginny asked defiantly. Harry’s eyes widened. “That’s absurd. She’s never shown one bit of interest in me,” he replied. “Harry, I’m afraid to tell you, she has. She’s been trying to get you to notice her since last year,” Ron shook his head. “No. She couldn’t of..why else would she help me pick out a ring?” “Because she wanted you to be happy. She was being selfless. Unlike you. Who didn’t even consider her feelings before your own. IT WAS ALL ABOUT ISABELLE! Wasn’t it? She hid her feelings after she found out you liked Isabelle. Remember Cho? She helped you then too. But you didn’t give a damn about how she felt, did you?” Ginny told him. Harry stood there, shocked from what he was hearing. Come to think of it, when they were at the jewelry store, she had a sad smile on her face. She didn’t seem herself. She felt...far away from him. Yet, she was close to everyone else. Was he really blind? Was Hermione the one for him. Was that what Isabelle was talking about? So many questions swam in his head. “Everyone knew it, Harry. Even Professor Snape. All the Slytherins knew. Everyone were holding bets on when you two would get together. But I guess they all lost, eh?” Draco asked. “It’s not my fault-“ ”That’s a load of bull! Even Isabelle knew. That’s why she said no to you. I didn’t want Hermione to know, then I thought about you. Maybe you can feel what she’s been feeling. For the past seven years. You never gave her a second look. All she’s been to you is a friend. But now it’s your turn to suffer what she did. She told me to give this to you,” Ron told him softly, feeling sorry for him as he handed Harry the black pouch. “Thanks Ron...I’ll see you guys later. I just wanna be alone,” Harry whispered, going to his Head Boy room. He closed the door and plopped on the bed before opening the pouch. Inside was a photo album attached to a piece of paper. Harry, This photo album is full of our years together. And I wish we shared more... Hermione Harry placed the not aside and opened the book. His eyes widened as he saw their sixth year ball when he danced with her. She was radiant that night. In her silver dress. Throughout the whole thing, images clouded his mind. Her smiles. Her sparkling eyes. Everything about her. He sighed and placed them in the bag before heading to Hermione’s old room. It felt empty and cold. There was no earthly glow anymore. No warmth. Just bare and gone. He dropped the bag on the floor and buried his body underneath the covers and burying his face into the pillow. It smelled like her. Roses and lilies. Her favorite flowers. His eyes burned as his heart sunk into his stomach. Then he noticed something rolled out of the black bag. Harry picked up a small decorative box and opened it. A picture appeared in the air to show him the moments that happened between him and her. The moments he let slip by. Then soft music began to play from the box. Hermione was always good with this sort of thing. He looked inside the box and saw a ring that had a ruby heart and two hearts of emeralds and sapphires on each side. His and Hermione’s birthstones. He let the box drop on the bed as it kept playing music and the pictures played across the room. But something happened. A mirror floated from the bag and to Harry. A golden handle mirror. Then Hermione’s face appeared in it and started to talk. Harry. If you have this mirror, it means I’m gone. I’m sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye to you in person. I don’t think I could without breaking down. I just couldn’t bear to see you. It would be so painful. I’m glad I got to know you. To be your friend. I need to say this before I run out of my Gryffindor courage. I love you. There. I said it. I’ve always loved you Harry. I was afraid to tell you. Afraid that you’d reject me. Afraid that our friendship would never be the same. And now it’s not going to be. When you liked Cho, I didn’t know then that I loved you. It was last year I liked you. But when you met Isabelle. It was then realized I loved you. But it can’t be. Can it? Maybe I was meant to be alone. I certainly wasn’t meant to be with someone in love, was I? I wish the best of luck to you and Isabelle. I will miss you very much, Harry. If you and Isabelle get married, you have to promise me to invite me. It’d be heartbreaking to see the man I love getting married, but at least you’d be happy. I’m sorry, but I can’t help but cry. It’s so painful. Every night..I wondered what was wrong with me. Why you couldn’t love me. I know I’m not so beautiful. Not even pretty. Was it because I was just too into my studies? Was it because I wasn’t good at Quidditch? Or something else? Every night. You don’t know how hard it was to stop crying. I just wanted you to be happy. I didn’t care if I was. It was all about you. You’re all I could ever think of. I just couldn’t tell you it. Inside that box is something Sirius gave to me. He said it was your mother’s wedding ring. I don’t know why he gave it to me instead of you. Then I began to dream that one day you’d put this ring on my finger and call me Hermione Potter. That’s not going to happen, is it? I’ll miss you most out of everyone Harry. You mean everything to me. I’ll never forget you. But can you just do me one favor? Don’t forget me and don’t forget I’ll always love you, even if I shall still remain your best friend. Will you think of me, Harry? Don’t forget me. Please. Then her face disappeared from the mirror and it dropped on the bed. Harry stared at it. “Hermione.” Her name uttered from his lips. “I was so blind. Why couldn’t I see you?” he whispered to himself as tears came from his eyes. He looked to the other side of the room and saw a broken picture frame on the floor. He slowly got up and his eyes widened as he saw what was under the broken shards of glass. It was a picture of Hermione and him embraced. Apparently, she had thrown it on the ground. He picked the picture up and ran his fingers over her face which smiled and laughed. He’d never see that smile or that face again. He read the back and saw that it read Harry and Hermione-For Love and Friendship. Hermione was in love with him. And he let her slip from him. He could never tell her how he felt now. That he was in love with her. He wanted to say sorry for being blind. For being an idiot. But he couldn’t. Because it was too late. Too late for him to tell her he loved her too. And now, she was gone. Forever because it was his fault she had left him and his broken heart at Hogwarts. Harry collapsed on the ground and listened to the melody of the box and heard her voice from the mirror again. The voice that would be haunting his dreams from now on. The voice he’d never hear from her again. Harry picked up the ring and sighed. “Will I ever see you again, my love?” he asked into the air. He turned his face and looked at the mirror. Will you think of me, Harry? Don’t forget me. Please. “I can’t forget you Hermione. Now, I won’t ever stop thinking of you. I know you’re out there somewhere. I just want you to know. I love you Hermione, And I’ll never stop,” Harry said softly as the tears he shed couldn’t stop. A/N: I am so pissed at my TV company because I wanted to record the GoF sneak peaks on the DVR and they told me I had the wrong kind of box AFTER I thought I recorded it. You know how much that sucks? Ughhhhhh. I hate my damn TV right now! Lol. Did you all like this chapter? I dunno if I should do a sequel...even if it’s against the rules lmao.
