Then she sat down and began to write a letter to the man a few rooms from her…the hardest letter she would ever write…
Disclaimer: I own nothing but what's written.
Author's Note: Should I keep the end of it?
Why can't you see me?
See the pain that has consumed my very soul.
The soul that is in love with your soul.
There was a time when I was hopeful…
Hopeful that we could be.
But that hope was diminished with a simple phrase.
I don't blame you…
I could never blame the one that I love.
I always hoped that things could change…
That you would drift apart -
But that's too much to ask of you,
Of your happiness.
My soul is filled with you…
You're like the song always stuck in one's head.
I will never love anyone in the way that I've loved you…
For you changed me…
Made me better than what I ever thought I could be.
You saved my life.
I've always loved you I think.
From the passion that drove you…
The same passion I longed to receive.
To the darkness that conquered your mind…
The darkness that I longed to take from you.
I wouldn't change you.
You're perfect in your imperfection.
You've always been there for me…
But now…
Things will change.
They already have changed…
I will never be `the one'.
The person you share you life with…
Your every thought with…
Your every moment with.
I will learn to accept the fact that I will never call you mine.
That I will never hold you…
Openly show my love for you.
But when you take the vow of love…
The forever love,
Remember that you will always have forever love with me…
Because I could never not love you…
Because even though I'm not `the one' -
You are…
And you always will be.
Forever.
She folded up the letter and placed it back into the envelope. Looking up into the mirror before her, she saw the tears that had welled up in her eyes. Her dress had been custom made for her…any bride-to-be would be jealous.
Then she sat down and began to write a letter to the man a few rooms from her…the hardest letter she would ever write…

I stood in front of the mirror, gazing at my reflection. What had I become? I was about to leave the man that loved me for another…
I was a woman in love…forever love.
I ran my hands over the full skirt of my dress, which was now hanging back on its hanger. It was a shame that it would never be worn…
I sighed as I walked to the door and, before turning off the light, looked the small room over. I closed the door quietly behind me and walked down the hall to where he was. Trembling slightly, I got down on my knees and slid a thick envelope, his name written neatly across the front of it, under the door. I then turned and walked towards the side door. Just as I was leaving, I heard the church bells begin to ring and music begin to play. Breathing deeply I forced myself to keep moving…what I was doing was far better than what would happen if I didn't.
I got into my car and drove away…crying for him…for what I was doing to him…his soul, his heart.
And I never looked back.

Ron looked at Harry in confusion…where was the bride?
“Where is she?” Ron hissed, looking over the heads of everyone else in attempts to see the back of the church from all the way in the front.
“Oh my god,” Harry murmured, looking suddenly sick. “Bloody hell!”
“What?” Ron asked looking over at Harry.
“I-She…I've got to go!” Harry exclaimed suddenly, and, bumping into several people, ran down the aisle and out of the church.

“Hermione!” Harry called as he walked into his flat. “Hermione!?”
“Harry?” Hermione sat up groggily on the couch.
“Hermione…you…you read it?” Harry asked, swallowing the lump in his throat.
“Yes,” Hermione whispered after a minute.
“I-I'm sorry, so sorry,” Harry bowed his head, regret in his voice.
“Are you really?” Hermione asked, resting her hand against his cheek.
“No,” Harry replied almost inaudibly.
“Then neither am I,” she said softly, and Harry raised his head.
“Wha-”
“Harry…I-You were right…in the letter. I love Jacob…I do…but, I'm in forever love with you.”
“I'm sorry I ruined your wedding…and hurt Jacob; but I love you, and I needed you to know that. I had to have you know that. You're the reason I live…and if I had just given you up, without ever attempting anything, I don't think I could've lived with myself,” Harry smiled, rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb.
“I love you, Harry. I love you,” Hermione hugged him, finally feeling what had been missing her entire life. “You are my soul, my heart, my forever.”
Harry leaned down and gently kissed her, such a large range of emotions running through him. Then, suddenly something dawned on Harry.
“Hermione? How did you know it was me? I never signed that letter.”
“I didn't know…but I knew that only one person could ever sing the song in my soul back to me,” Hermione replied, “and it was you…it always was and always will be. Forever.”
Author's Note: Well…surprising how a fic that I don't expect many reviews on gets more than the fics I want reviews on! Anyways! Only one person got the first chapter right…kudos to fenriswolf…this is short, but I'm hoping it will clear everything up for everyone! Thanks for the reviews!
