Stars shining bright above you Night breezes seem to whisper I love you Birds singing in the sycamore tree Dream a little dream of me... Their last moments...
Author's Note: Well…this isn't happy, nor is it long. I haven't written anything in quite a while and I've been trying to incorporate this song into a fic for some time.. I hope you all enjoy it despite the sadness. There's not much to it, but that's life and it's my story. Well, please review…I miss those things!
Warning: This is VERY unhappy…

Dream a Little Dream of Me
All was quite.
That's how it usually is after the storm - peaceful. Too peaceful.
The peace was a mask, hiding all traces of what had just transpired from the rest of the world. Hiding the pain, the death, that hung over the grassy hill.
The occasional moan of pain could be heard from the wounded, and the quiet whisperings of the unharmed, swirling around us, became one with the quietness of the air.
The clouds had cleared away, revealing the first stars of the night twinkling merrily down at us, in celebration of what had been accomplished.
My attention returned to the young man resting in my arms.
“Harry,” I murmured, brushing his fringe out of his eyes.
His response was a pain-filled groan.
“Shh,” I whispered, tears welling up in my eyes. “You don't need to say anything.”
“I'm sorry,” he managed to choke out, his voice raspy and think with emotion.
“You did it, Harry. Don't be sorry. It was the world or me,” I wiped quickly at the tears threatening to fall. “You made the right choice.”
He shook his head slightly, a frown gracing his dirty face.
“Yes. You told me what Dumbledore told you remember? We all have to choose between what is right and what is easy,” I brought my hand to his cheek, gently caressing it. “You chose what was right, and I love you for that.”
“- Love you -” He managed to choke out.
“Dream of me,” I whispered as his eyes fluttered, his will fading.
“Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you. Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you. But in your dreams whatever they be, dream a little dream of me…” I sang quietly, remembering a song I'd often heard my grandmother play on her old record player when I was a child.
I lowered my head over his and kissed him softly.
I watched as the light slowly faded from his emerald eyes…felt his hand go limp in my own.
“I love you, Harry,” I held back a sob as a brought his hand to my face and placed a kiss on it.
Then I couldn't hold it back any longer and the tears started to slip down my cheeks.
The area fell into silence as the brown haired woman sobbed in agony, the love of her life held tightly to her chest.
Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you"
Birds singing in a sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me
Say nighty night and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you miss me
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me
Stars fading but I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this
Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me
Stars fading but I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this
Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries far behind you
And in your dreams
Whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me
