That smile is something special.
A/N: Writer’s block is being conquered. Please enjoy this little ficlet.
“I’d much rather be with you on a Friday night then with anyone else,” he said. I grew entranced by his smile. Words were catching in my throat. What was there to say to that?
I’d much rather be with you . . .
His face, which was usually very expressive, was bearing a look that had been rare to it. At a glance it would’ve appeared to be a very sincere smile, but his eyes... his eyes said so much more. So many things... but only coming down to one single thing that I had only seen a fraction of before. My hesitance to kiss him was immediately dismantled when he smiled like that. I would kiss him a million times a day if it meant he would look at me like that again.
That urge to kiss him grew so unbearable that I joined him on the slick lip of the fountain, determined to chase him down and show him just how much he affected me. He laughed, seeing my frustration, which only increased as that smile grew wider.
As I grabbed him to pull him close, the both of us lost our balance and fell into the freezing water.
Before I knew it he was laughing again, that infectious laughter that spread like a wildfire through dry brush, and I joined him. It didn’t matter if we were sopping wet or if it was cold out or if we both stood a high chance of catching colds if we stayed like this.
He kissed me, will that smile still upon his lips. When he pulled away, he gently laid his forehead on mine and looked into my eyes.
“I’d much rather be cold with you, then warm with anyone else.”
