You can’t possibly stay. Not here, not within these walls, with these people who you use to know inside and out. They think they know you, remember the girl you use to be, but they don’t. They don’t have a glimpse into this life you’ve created with him. And the sun will set for you Disclaimer: I do not own anything relating to Harry Potter or the song “Shadow of the Day” by Linkin Park. Only the plot is my own. Author's Note: I don't really have much to say….thanks to the two people who liked the last thing I posted. As to the rest, I hope DH ends the way you want or guess you'll be writing letters to her too. It's called writing, craft, whatever you want to call it, and as the author, you get the choice of where to end it, whom to kill, and so on….sorry if this seems rude. I just don't like reviews that are basic complaints. Guess I had something to say after all. I hope you at least enjoy this one. The World in Grey “And cards and flowers on the window Your friends all plead for you to stay Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple Sometimes good-bye's the only way” You know you have to leave. You can't possibly stay. Not here, not within these walls, with these people who you use to know inside and out. They think they know you, remember the girl you use to be, but they don't. They don't have a glimpse into this life you've created with him. The looks. The moments. The scenes that still play in your head as if on repeat. Last words and touches. You know that you'll never be able to turn them off. They'll continue long after you've left this semblance of life here in this dark house where too many people live, who ask too many questions, and make too much noise. He could never understand why you wanted to stayed here. Said that the house and all that was in it seemed to pull the light from you. He never understood that you believed that your only family was here; that it was all wither of you had left. Said that they weren't your family, your family was gone, just like his. All you had left was each other. You now had the differing viewpoints with him and it was him that now argued with you in his place. He claimed that it kept things interesting. You knew he was just trying to keep it the same. You just wanted it to all stop. Just for a minute. Just so you could breath. Take a minute to remember life before this war began. When you were allowed to be a child with stupid, petty problems. Be able to say good-bye to those gone and those you were leaving behind. Those who were still hanging on to those small-minded viewpoints. Who knew what was right and wrong anymore. Then you could start over with him. A fresh start. Clean slate. A new beginning. Nothing had ever sounded so frightening. You knew the feeling of fear. You felt it often in your life, how could you not know. But you've never felt it like this. Your skin feels as though you have goose bumps along your arms and legs. Shivers run along your back. You can feel the blood moving through you. Thoughts swarm and it's difficult to land on one. Starting over without a plan or goal is unfamiliar territory to you. It leaves you standing in rooms with no knowledge of what to do next. Your eyes search his for a clue, a direction to go in, but they hold the same unsureness as yours. These feeling make you want to scream. At night while trying to fall asleep next him, the feeling is strongest. The day is over. Silence prevails. All that is left is your thoughts and the urge to run. Laying there you just want to run outside, throw your head back, and scream. Long and loud. Until your voice is gone and all that is left is a rasp. When your scream is all you remember and not the ones of the people around you dying. Until you're finally exhausted enough to move on. Maybe then the frustration would be gone. The feeling of helplessness would leave. You could be sane. Look at yourself again and recognize the girl staring back. Meet people's eyes again. One night he caught you in a room on the third floor. You felt restless in bed and the urge to scream was strong. You were tired of tossing and turning and knew he would wake soon. So getting up, you headed to a part of the house where no one was. The room was cold, as was much of the house and filled with objects that no one cared about and didn't wished to inquire as to their purpose. You knew you couldn't release the anger inside the way you wanted. The thought of breaking something sounded virtuous as well, but it could also wake the house. Carrying your wand with you never enters your mind anymore. Many of the objects in the room were made of glass or ceramic it seemed. Things that probably meant something to the family who use to call this dark house home. The family that looked down on your kind. Who wish your kind to be dead. Breaking them would have angered them if they were still around to care. Picking up a large vase made of glass and decorated with a spiraling design, you thought about the sound if would make hitting the opposite wall. The force of it hitting and making it shatter into a million tiny pieces. Just like you. “Do it.” His voice startled you from your dark thoughts. Seeing him in the doorway, leaning against the frame, arms crossed, as if he'd been there for awhile. You couldn't say anything to him; feeling embarrassed being caught in this manner. You tried hard to seem composed in front of him lately. You watched as he walked towards you and stop in front of your crushed form. “Go on. Throw it.” He turned your body back to facing the wall you had been comptemplating earlier. “You've been needing this.” You weren't that surprised that he had you figured out. “You can't keep it all locked up. If you won't talk about it, then get it out this way.” You still just stood there staring at the wall holding the vase tightly. Hating how he could see you so easily. “Fine, if you won't, then I will.” You watched as he walked over to a table and picked up a crystal glass and hurled it across the room. The sound of shattering glass filled the dark room. You could feel his eyes boring into you begging you to follow his lead. Suddenly it became too much as he picked up a matching glass and threw it too. All of the repressed feelings surfaced too quickly. The fear, loneliness, helplessness, anger….all of it. The grief of losing your family and friends. Of losing your life. He picked up a third glass and it met the same fate as the first two. You could feel the tears falling quickly. So many tears. Tears you hadn't cried since it all ended. You knew he was standing behind you now. Not only physically but emotionally now too. You had his support. Lifting your hands, you held the vase above your head before stepping out. With all of the anger, sadness, and grief you had, you threw the vase across the room and watched it shatter in to millions of tiny pieces. As the pieces fell to the floor, you felt his arms wrap around your waist and him pull you to him. The tiny pieces of you began to slowly fit back together. You knew then you had to leave and start over. -->
