1. Chapter 1

This story actually came to me in a dream, believe it or not. How sad is that - I'm actually dreaming of Harry Potter fanfiction ideas. Argh.

Anyway, as I didn't read the 6th or 7th book (don't worry, I know most of the important stuff), I'll be working the storyline to my liking. Also, I'm moving locations arounds slightly when it comes to where the Lovegoods live. I usually write epilogue accurate stories, so this is pretty far out of my comfort zone, so bear with me. I hope you all enjoy this story. It takes place after 6th year.

Hermione Granger awoke to the morning light and slight sounds of birds singing. She rubbed her eyes, sat up in her bed, and looked around. Where was she again? The Burrow. That's right. Hermione often forgot where she was after a good night's sleep. It had been so long since she had had one of those. Hermione wondered how Harry and Ron had slept. She sighed and looked over at the other bed where Ginny was still asleep. Hermione hardly ever wondered how Ginny slept. She didn't have to - it was apparent that Ginny almost always got a full night of sleep. Even when Ginny was worried about something, she could fall asleep soon enough. Hermione looked down at her hands. What time was it, anyway? It must still be early - she didn't hear anyone downstairs.

Hermione sleepily got out of bed and put on her slippers. She began to walk towards Ginny's mirror when she heard a faint moaning. Hermione turned her head towards the door. The moaning got louder and louder, and soon turned into a kind of moaning-scream. It was Harry. Hermione raced out the door and down the hall to Ron and Harry's room. She pushed open the heavy door to find Ron at Harry's bedside, trying to wake him. Ron looked up at Hermione with a look of relief on his face.

"Hermione, thank goodness. I can't wake him up!", Ron said over Harry's screams. Hermione pushed passed Ron and knelt beside Harry. He was obviously having one of his nightmares again. She put her hand on his forehead. His temperature was quite high.

"Harry, Harry, wake up. Harry, you have to wake up," Hermione soothed. Harry thrashed in his bed, almsot as if he was being burned. Hermione sighed.

"What can I do to wake you up and get you out of your nightmare?", Hermione asked. Without thinking, Hermione traced Harry's scar with her fingers. Harry began to calm. Hermione looked up. She continued to follow the pattern of Harry's scar with her fingers, and every time she went over his scar, Harry's screams softened, evetually to the point where they stopped. Hermione put her hand on his forehead again. Harry's temperature was still high. Ron was looking on with bewilderment, but also with an underlying expression that Hermione didn't recognize. Ron opened his mouth to say something, but before he could speak, Harry's voice rang out in the room.

"Hermione?", Harry said. Hermione turned to Harry. There was a brief silence where they simply looked at each other. Harry then remembered what his original purpose was.

"Hermione, Ron, we have to get to the Ministry, today!", Harry shouted. Hermone and Ron looked at each other with questioning expressions. Hermione turned back to Harry.

"Harry, what was your dream about?", Hermione asked carefully. Harry looked directly into her eyes. There was something fierce about his gaze that caught Hermione off guard.

"You know how Mr. Weasley is staying at the Ministry?", Harry began. At this point, Ron stiffened, while Hermione simply nodded, "I dreamt of an attack and Mr. Weasley was....well....killed. Among others."

Ron turned to look out the window. He had a stoic expression on his face that didn't usually appear. Hermione kept her gaze on Harry.

"Harry I don't think-"

"No", Harry said, cutting her off, "There's more. Voldemort came and took the Ministry as one of his bases. He used it to reign over the wizarding world, and Hermione, Ron, he killed so many."

"Harry, it sounds like a very frightening dream, and I'm sorry you had it, but it doesn't mean that it's going to happen", Hermione whispered. Harry shook his head.

"No, Hermione, it is going to happen. I know it sounds far fetched. I know the Ministry is supposed to be able to take care of themselves, but there's something that I'm missing, something that's preventing that from happening. Please, Ron, Hermione, you have to believe me. This is real, it's going to happen, and we have to stop it," Harry said very quickly. Hermione bit her lip and looked from Harry to Ron and then back to Harry. Ron turned back from the window and looked at Harry.

"Harry, do you really think that my father is in real trouble? And all those other people?", Ron asked. Harry nodded. Hermione spoke up.

"Then we have to go. We can owl the Order before we leave," She said, "We just need a way of getting there. If what Harry says is true, I'm sure the Floo systems are being monitered."

"We can fly half the way, maybe," Ron said, finally perking up,"The other half, I think Luna can help us with."

"Luna? What can she do?", Harry asked. Hermione furrowed her eyebrows.

"Well, there's a river called River Otter behind her house that can get us halfway there. She has a boat and everything. When we owl the order, we can tell tell them to meet us with a portkey and they can go the rest of the way with us."

Harry and Hermione looked from each other to Ron. Ron's ears started to go pink.

"What?", He asked.

"Well....it's just that that's a very well thought out plan. Especially for you, Ron," Hermione chuckled lightly. Ron smiled. So did Harry.

"How did you know all that about Luna, anyway?", Harry asked. Ron went red.

"Well...erm, we've kind of been keeping in touch," Ron eeked out. Harry and Hermione shared a knowing smile.

"What?", Ron wailed.

At that moment there was a knock at the door. All three teenagers looked up to see Ginny Weasley opening the door.

"I heard a moaning-scream a little while ago, but Hermione handled it. I wanted to see if everyone was okay," Ginny said. Harry and Ron looked at Hermione, expecting her to answer. She just nodded. There was an awkward silence that lasted a few moments.

"Well then, I guess I'll be off. Breakfast isn't for few more hours, so I guess I'll get back to bed," Ginny said. Harry, Hermione, and Ron all nodded and turned back together.

"Except....I couldn't help overhear what you were talking about," Ginny added sheepishly.

"You were eavesdropping?", Ron asked angrily. Ginny put up her hands defensively.

"No, no. It's just, when I came to the door, I heard you three talking, and I didn't want to interrupt, so I waited. But, my question is....can I go with you?"

Harry, Ron, and Hermione all looked at each other. Ginny waited with anticipation. Hermione decided to be the first to speak.

"Ginny....I don't think this....is for you," She said, "It's bound to be dangerous and we can't afford any losses-"

"I won't be a loss, Hermione," Ginny snapped slightly. This didn't phase Hermione, although it did catch Ron and Harry off guard.

"Ginny, please just understand, you can't come with us. But you can help," Hermione added. Ginny perked up towards the end.

"What can I do?", Ginny asked eagerly.

"You can see us off if you'd like, but more importantly, you can stay here and watch over your family. But most of all, you can keep this a secret. At least, until we send you word that we've met up with members of the Order," Hermione said.

"But isn't mum a member of the Order?", Ginny asked.

"Yes, but she'll instantly worry. Besides, she needs to be here incase someone attacks the Burrow," Hermione said. Ginny sighed and nodded.

"Are we all agreed then?", Hermione asked. Everyone nodded their heads.

"Then let's get moving."
