Hi everyone,
This is the start of a story I am writing in response to a challenge which I found in the forums. The link to the challenge is http://talk.portkey.org/index.php?showtopic=701 if you want to read what the challenge was. Anyway I hope you like it. It will be a short story and will probably only have a few chapters. Well read and review.

Prologue - Happy Days
The sun had just risen over Godric Hollow's and Lily was in the kitchen prepare breakfast for her husband James. She wanted today to be perfect as she had just found out that she was pregnant and she intended to tell James over breakfast that morning.
Lily had just laid breakfast out on the table when James came down the stairs. “Hello dear, how are you this morning?” James greeted his wife.
“I'm fine James, but there is something I need to tell you,” Lily answered.
James had just sat down to eat his breakfast and was interested to know what this was about. “Yes, what is it Lily?” he inquired.
“Ah, well you remember how I've been feeling a little unwell over the last few weeks,” Lily began as she sat down at the table next to James. James nodded at this and look up at his wife. “Well, I just received an owl from the doctor saying that… Well we're going to have a baby,” Lily finally told him.
James was a little startled by this news. “Wow, really Lily, that's amazing,”

“Hi Sirius,” James said as he greeted Sirius and lead him into the lounge room where Lily was sitting. “There is something we want to talk to you about Sirius,” James said as he sat down.
“Oh, okay well what is it then,” Sirius said as he sat down next to James.
“Well, as you know Voldemort has been after me and Lily for a long time now. We have been able to remain safe, but we're worried that now with Harry we won't be able to keep doing that,” James told him.
“Oh, I see,” Sirius said. “Hmm… well there is the findelus charm, we could do that. I think that would work all you'd have to do is chose a secret keeper and we can perform the spell. However you won't be able to leave the house. So James you'd have to give up work for a while.”
“Hmm, it is a good idea Sirius and I think it's the best option. I'll have to speak to them at work and see if I can leave for a while. So all we need now is a secret keeper, Sirius would you be it?” James asked.
“Ah, yes sure. When do you think you'll be ready for the charm to be performed?” Sirius asked.
“Um, well probably in two weeks. I'll have to give them notice at work,” James said.
“Ah, yes, of course. Well you just tell me when you're ready and we can perform it,” Sirius said.

Lily and James were sitting inside Godric Hollows waiting for Sirius to arrive. Lily was very worried that something might still happen to them and so had created a pensieve for their son Harry with a number of memories of her and James as well as Sirius, Remus and Peter. She was going to give this to Sirius when he came to perform the charm.
Sirius did arrive however he persuaded them to use Peter as their secret keeper instead of him. Lily and James were a little startled by this however they agree to it. Lily still gave Sirius the pensive, telling him that if something happened he was to give it to Harry.
Peter arrived shortly afterwards and the charm was performed. Lily, James and Harry lived for quite some time in that house without any harm from Voldemort. They felt that the cham had worked well and that they were safely hidden from Voldemort. However they soon found out they were wrong when Voldemort turned up and killed both of them, however when he tried to kill Harry he could not. He retreated and left the boy in the house.
Sirius quickly found out about the deaths as he had been imprisoned for the murder of Peter Petigrew, which he did not commit. He knew that one day he still had the pensieve Lily had made for Harry and intended to give it to him as soon as he could.
