"Go ahead Jamesy, put your foot down.  Tell her no babies." Sirius continued, laughing hysterically, much as the rest of their friends. Lily's face was buried in her hands.

"Yep, you two have a lot of good years left, I wouldn't suggest children till you're thirty.  Just think of all the fun before then." Sirius continued, and James was at a loss for words.

"James, make him shut up." Lily wailed, embarrassed out of her skin.

"You heard her, Sirius, shut up!" James said.

"Fine, I'll leave you alone.  For the moment." Sirius said devilishly.

"We're both looking forward to it, I'm sure." James said sarcastically.

"Prefects, please lead your house to it common room.  You have been given the passwords for this month, memorize them, then destroy them." Dumbledore said.  Lily and James stood up, leading everybody towards the Gryffindor common room.

Sirius, along with Peter and Remus, took it upon themselves to educate the first years.  "You youngsters are having the privilege to look at Hogwart's greastest couple." Sirius said.

"James Potter and Lily Evans are also Hogwarts' most popular couple by far.  They are both members of the quidditch team." Remus continued.

Peter picked up, "By far the most valuable players on the team", a loud 'huummppphh' was heard from other members, "are both chasers.  Both James and Lily are top in all their classes.  They also really like their friends." Peter said this last part, warily eyeing the couple fighting their way through first years, murder in their eyes.

"Did I mention James is practically my brother?" Sirius said.

"And I was Lily's first ever boyfriend at Hogwarts.  Surely she wouldn't wish me harm." Remus said, backing away.  James's eyes glinted even more.

"But of course, I completely relinquish her to James.  We haven't went out since we were firsties like yourselves." Remus said, backing into the wall.

"I've got Sirius, you take care of your long-lost boyfriend, here." James said to Lily, and she nodded.  Lily advanced on Remus with a tickling hex.  James attacked Sirius with a binding curse.

"Uh, James, Lily, McGonagall's coming." Peter said.

"Thanks." Lily said, and they swiftly uncursed their friends.

"So, are you two ready to leave us alone yet?" James asked innocently.

"Of course, Jamesy.  We won't bring it up again that you and Lils make the sweetest couple in the world." Sirius said.

"Let's just go to the tower.  A couple of the first years look like they're going to drop." Lily said, leading them away."Wow, they're kind of scary." One first year whispered to another.

"I know.  My mum and dad said that there's these rumors that they're really powerful wizards.  They work at the Ministry."

"Cool.  Did you just see the way they hexed those guys?"

"Just look at how much they obviously love each other!  James is sooo hot!  And I wish I could be as pretty as Lily." A girl whispered.

"He is positively dreamy!" Another gushed quietly.

"His friends aren't bad looking!  Especially the one that made them mad!"

"I wonder what kind of girls Lily hangs out with?  They've got to be as hot as her!" A boy said, enraptured.

"And here's the Gryffindor portrait hole, which is the entrance.  This week's password is 'stonewash'." James said.  Everybody entered the common room, the older students either taking a seat in the common room, or heading to their dorms.

"This is the common room.  You will spend most of your spare-waking time here." Lily said.

"The boys dorms are to the left, the girls to the right." James picked up.

"And no boys in the girls dorms, and vice versa." Lily said.

"So is that why you spent a week in the boys dorm?" Sirius asked, wide-eyed.  James was already heading towards the stairs himself, so he was quite aways from Lily and Sirius.  He saw her face turn a rather scary shade of red, then progress steadily toward Sirius.

"SIRIUS BLACK!  I am sick and tired of you making fun of James and me.  Stop it right now!  It is no longer funny, just embarrassing and mean.  Have you ever thought that maybe you're just jealous of our relationship when you change girlfriends weekly?" Lily asked in a dangerous voice, sticking Sirius in the chest with her index finger to emphasize her point.

"Aww, Lily, I didn't know I was upsetting you-"

"YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE UPSETTING ME!  YOU HAVE BEEN ASKED TO STOP NUMEROUS TIMES, YOU IDIOT!" Lily yelled at the top of her lungs, and started pounding on Sirius.  He couldn't dodge her blows or block them.  He was pretty much stuck.  James stared at them momentarily, then started trying to stop the abusive Lily.  He could tell she was very mad.

"Lily, you probably ought to stop hitting him now, you might do serious damage, no pun intended."  No answer.

"Lily?" James asked, and still no answer.  "Fine." He said, and grabbed her around the waist, pulling her away from Sirius.  Lily was still fighting against James's grasp.

"Lily, you're embarrassing yourself." James said, and Lily immediately relaxed.  He let go of her, and she bolted towards Sirius again.

"Okay, Lily, I don't have another choice." James said, and flung her over his shoulder.

"Let me down, Potter, I still need to MURDER Sirius Black.  In cold blood, hopefully."

"Well, you can probably do a better job after a full night's sleep." James soothed, walking up the girls stairs.  "First years, if you want shown to your dorms, follow us."

They all followed meekly, staring at James and Lily.

"You can let me down now James.  I'll be good." Lily said.

"I'm sure you will, but we can't take any chances.  You are going to be safely deposited in your bed." James said sternly.

"Wow, he must be sooo strong to be able to carry her like that."  One of the firsties said quietly.

"No kidding, if he can carry her all this way, maybe he even has a six-pack."

"You wouldn't know a six-pack if it slapped you in the face with a neon sign."

"What's neon?"

"Nevermind."

"This is your dorm." Lily said as James opened the door for them.  "And stay in there, it's getting late, and tomorrow will be a hard day."  The firsties all went into the room, but as soon as James turned around, they snuck out quietly behind them.  After all, this was a show they had to watch, and they could inform the older students later.  As James carrying Lily walked into the fifth year girls dorm, the seven first year heads were popped around the doorjamb, half expecting the door to slam in their faces, but to their suprise, it remained open.  They saw James walk over to one of the beds and dump Lily unceremoniously on it.

"Hey." Lily said.

"Be quiet, go to sleep, and try not to harm Sirius." James said, taking off her shoes.

"Stop it." Lily said, trying to snatch her feet and her shoes away from him.  James merely pulled her blankets over her and kissed her goodnight.

"You moron, I can't sleep."

"And why not, Lily?" James asked.

"Newsflash, I don't sleep in my Hogwarts robes."

"Oh, you want me to take those off for you too?" James inquired.

"Not on your life.  I can manage fine by myself, thank you very much.  Just leave."

"Okay, but you know where to find me if you change your mind." James said walking out, only to have one of Lily's shoes hit him between the shoulders.

"You're being excessively violent today." James said.

"Anger." Lily said simply, getting out of bed.

"Do you want to wrestle?"

"WHAT?" Lily asked.

"That's supposed to be good for anger, personally, I've never tried it, but I'm sure it would be interesting my dear."

"I'm not going to examine that one James, because I simply do not want to know.  I'm going to bed."

"Yours or mine?"

"Mine." Lily said, and James headed back towards her bed.  "Oh no.  I'm going to mine, you are going to your own bed."

"You really have to zap the fun out of everything, don't you?"

"Yes, now get out." Lily said, laughing now.

"I don't see what's so funny."

"You wouldn't.  Goodnight James." Lily said, kissing him, then pushing him out the door, slamming it behind him.  Shortly after James left, the rest of the girls came up to the dorm, surprised to find Lily almost asleep.  Most of the time she was the last one asleep and the first awake.  After just a few short minutes of catching up, the seven first year girls came barging in.

"What the hell are you firsties doing in here?" Renee asked rather rudely, making a couple of them cower.

"Well, we were told if we need help to see a prefect, and Lily's a prefect.  I guess we could go ask James, but I didn't think we should be in the boys dorm."  One pointed out, making Lily groan and cover her face with a pillow.

"Can't it wait until morning?  And please don't curse in front of the first years." Lily said.

"No, it's and emergency.  And you can call us firsties, it's kind of welcoming, like a nickname." One of them answered.

"Introduce yourselves.  I'm Lily, and this is Adriana, Renee, Serenity, and Gina." Lily said, waving vaguely at the girls.

"I'm Marissa, and this is Clarissa, Alyssa, we're triplets.  They are Gretchen, Lilac, Sinjun, and Chessa." The tallest girl asked.  She had red hair, but it was more of an orange shade.  She was tall for an eleven year-old, in Lily's opinion, already as tall as Lily herself.

"Hi, nice to meet you, what do you want?"

"Well, we didn't actually want anything.  You just seemed like such a cool person, we wanted to get to know you better." Clarissa said.

"Oooohhhhhhhhhh." Lily groaned.  This meant no sleep for her tonight while she babysat seven outgoing first years."What am I supposed to do?" Lily groaned, making Serenity laugh.

"We just wanted to ask you some questions." Sinjun said.

"About James." Chessa said.

"Have I seen you some place before, Chessa?" Lily asked.

"Yes.  My full name is Chessa Potter.  I'm James's cousin."

"Oh, cool." Lily said.

"I know." Chessa said.

"You know what?" Lily asked warily.

"Your secret."

"Which one?"

"The one that could cause you harm." Chessa said mysteriously, and Lily led her out of the room, down to the common room, over to a corner.  The Marauders were all downstairs still, and James was surprised to see Lily in frog pajamas leading his cousin to a corner and whisper in her ear.

"Tell me which one you know."

"About you being Sinnients."

"You're not going to tell anybody are you?" Lily asked.

"No Lily, I don't want either of you to be hurt."

"Good, now do you want to go back with the rest of the girls?" Lily asked.

"Sure, although I know they're just going to give you the fifth degree about James."

"I'm used to it, come on.  In awhile me, you and Serenity can sneak down to the kitchens." Lily said in a normal voice as they headed towards the stairs.

"Lily, you're not planning on corrupting my sweet, innocent, little cousing are you?" James called.

"If I didn't, I'm sure you would manage to." Lily said, walking over to him.  "Besides, maybe it just runs in the family, and the mischief inside of her just needs to be released."

"Oy, Remus!  Can you imagine when James and Lily have a kid.  If it runs in the family, that's going to be one hellraiser!" Sirius said, then blanched at Lily's glare.  "Sorry, no malice intended.

"I'm sure." Lily said, and headed towards her dormitory.  As soon as Lily and Chessa walked into the room, they were bombarded by questions.

"So, does he have a six-pack?"

"Is he a good kisser?"

"He's really sweet, isn't he?"

"Do you love him?"

"Does he love you?"

"Is it honestly any of your business?" Lily asked, aggravated.

"We were just asking."

"I was just answering.  Chessa, how about that trip to the kitchens.  Serenity, are you in?" Lily asked.  Her dear friend was already asleep.  "Okay, Chessa, it's just me and you."

Chessa adopted a look that was way too similar to James's.  "I think we ought to invite James.""Ooh, I wanna go!"

"Me too!"

"I'm going if she's going!"

"JAMES!"  They all begged to go with her.

"No.  Chessa and I are going by ourselves.  None of you will be going with us.  I expect you to all be back in your dorm by the time I get back.  I will deduct ten points from each person out of their beds, and let me tell you, that doesn't impress the older Gryffindors." Lily said sternly, then dragged Chessa out.

They were going through the common room when they spotted the Marauders.

"Do you guys want to go to the kitchens with us?" Lily asked.

"Yeah!" Four voices chorused.  Then James said, "Sooo, your slumber party with the firsties didn't go so well, huh?"

"What do you think?  They all need Riddelin badly.  Let's just put it this way, if any of you stand between me and a gallon of cookie dough ice cream, you're dead meat."  Lily said.

"Okay, we'll leave you and your ice cream alone." Sirius said.

"Speak for yourself, Sirius.  Cookie dough is my favorite, and if there's not two containers, we're sharing." James said obstinately.

"Fine." Lily said, walking to the portrait hole, the others behind her.  James came up and swung an arm around her shoulders.

"You know, Lily, we've been going out for a whole two years."

"No kidding.  Can you believe we're already in the fifth year?  It seems just like yesterday I made that cake go flying at you." Lily said.

"You HAVE to dredge up bad memories, don't you." James said with a smile.

"Bad for who?"

"Whom."

"Fine.  Bad for whom?"

"Me.  You ruined my birthday party."

"You should've been nicer."

"I was being nice, anyhow, as nice as I got.  Eleven year old boys aren't exactly angels on earth." James said.

"I guess  you're right.  I can probably let it slide." Lily said as they turned into the kitchen.  The six people filed into the kitchen, expecting to be greeted by house-elves.

"Where are the house-elves?" Sirius questioned.

"They probably have the night off after making that huge feast today." James said.

"So that means we have free kitchen run." Remus said.  They were off.

"I found it!" Lily said happily, getting two spoons.

"The ice cream?" James asked.

"Yep." Lily said, and handed him a spoon, and dug into the ice cream.

"So, what is it that the firsties did that makes you feel the need to smother your worries in a gallon of ice cream?" James asked.

"Trust me, you don't want to know."

"Yes I do."

"Well, they asked if you had a six-pack, were a good kisser, if you were sweet, and if you loved each other." Chessa said.

"You're right, I didn't want to know." James said around a mouthful of ice cream.

"Gee, thanks for the concern." Lily said, hitting him in the back of the head.

"You're number one on my list, baby." James declared, wiggling his eyebrows
