Harry Potter and the End of the Prophecy

1. Chapter One

Note from the Author:

Well, this is the first fic that I have ever written as an Angst story. Normally my fics are happy, and everything works out in the end, but as we all know sometimes life isn't like that. So here a fic to show, that not even the life of the `great' Harry Potter is perfect. Enjoy! And please review!

Harry looked around the swirling clouds all around him, and smiled a sadistic smile. His lip curled into a sneer, and his eyes narrowed, blocking the slashing wind out of his eyes. His Firebolt shuddered under him. The broom was not supposed to be this high in the air, and it was desperately trying to get him to lower himself. Of course the broom didn't know his intentions. If it did, it would be screaming at him to get out of the air. But Harry knew that he wasn't getting down until he was done with what he had come to do. He had a purpose today, and he wasn't going to let anything alter it.

A shuddering revelation came to Harry earlier this week. Life seemed to have spiraled down further and further ever since the beginning of his sixth year. Harry never really realized all the people around him that he needed so badly to exist, until he didn't have them anymore. Harry never realized that the things in his life didn't mean anything compared to the importance of people. People made Harry who he was. Down to the most basic level of his Aunt and Uncle, because they had tormented him as a child that had shaped who Harry was. His friends at Hogwarts shaped who Harry was. All these different people had crafted Harry, and became part of his life.

It was a pity he didn't know how important they were until it was too late. He should have seen what an impact they had on his life. He should have known that without them he would be a shell of a man. He should have known a lot of things. He should have done better. He should have…

The sound of the air rushing past his ears was a deafening roar. He hadn't thought it necessary to wear any of his gear. Tears stung at the edge of his eyes, they were dearly missing his goggles, but he didn't care. Maybe the pain was part of it. The air of the atmosphere chilled him to the bone, but again he didn't care. He was in a different place. Harry's body and Harry's mind were two separate beings at the moment. Miles and miles separated them, and he had no intention of closing the gap. At this point, Harry had nothing left. No feelings. No desires. No thought.

He stood on the edge of nothingness, with nothing left.

Harry groaned as he read the letter in front of him. He had only been back at the Dursleys a week, and already Dumbledore wanted to punish him more. For some reason, the old coot had it out for him. The man must be looking for every excuse to punish him. Harry couldn't believe that he had actually found something worse than making him stay here.

Dear Harry,

I assume that you have been continuing to have your `dreams', and Professor Snape informs me that you did not complete your Occlumency lessons to their fullest. So I am requiring you, to come back to Hogwarts this summer and finish your lessons. I am sure you will enjoy the extra time with the Professor.

Albus Dumbledore

Harry re-read the letter three times to make sure that it wasn't some cosmic joke. Life wouldn't leave him alone anymore. After Sirius's death, Harry had been already on the edge of an emotional breakdown, and he knew that if Snape pushed him too far, he was going to crack…and it wasn't going to be pretty.

He crumpled the piece of parchment in his fist, and threw it across the room. It landed in a heap of garbage, which was actually no surprise considering the fact that the room was covered from wall to wall in junk. Clothes, trash, food, it was all here. Harry was so fed up with the Dursley's that he didn't see the reason to clean it. Ever since the warning the Order gave them at the station, they had been avoiding him like the plague, and once again, he enjoyed it.

Sighing, Harry began to pack his things. Knowing Dumbledore, he would be here any minute to pick Harry up. He had a strange sense of humor, and Harry expected a knock any second.

Things flew across the room, and landed in the trunk. Slowly, pieces of his carpet were revealed, and his trunk filled up. Within an hour, Harry had all his things ready to go. His eyes scanned the room one last time, searching for something that he had forgotten. Nothing stuck out, and Harry smiled. He knew his crap better than he thought he did. Another smile spread across his face, as the silence of settled down on him.

The room was silent. His ears pricked, and Harry's head snapped to the side.

“Tonks, come on out.” Harry said.

A cackle came from the corner of the room, and a tall woman stepped out of nothing. The shimmering Invisibility cloak in her hand proved Harry's theory, and he allotted himself a smile.

“What's up Harry?” Tonks asked her snot green hair changing right in front of him. The green changed to a shade of blue that seemed to almost hurt Harry's eyes.

“You guys sure are quick. I mean, the letter just came in the window!” Harry said, making Tonks's usual smile grow bigger.

“Well, we have to get you back to the school pronto Harry. This is slightly important. Dumbledore expects old Moldimort to attack you in your head any time now, and he wants to be nearby when it happens.” Tonks said, rolling her wand over the back of her hand.

Harry laughed at the thought of calling the darkest wizard in a century `Moldimort'. He would have to save that one for later.

“If you say so Tonks. So how are we getting there today? Portkey? Broomsticks? Trains?” Harry said, ticking off the things on his list.

“We'll be taking a Portkey.” She said simply. She pointed her wand at Harry's belongins, and they shrunk to toy size. She stuffed them into her pocket. Harry lifted his eyebrows, he had never thought of doing that before. He would remember that.

With a swift motion, Tonks pulled out a CD from her jacket pocket. Harry knew what it was without explanation, and he snatched it out of her hand. She took hold of the other end, and with a sharp tug around his navel, they were gone.
