Harry walked out of the bathroom and toward the bed he shared with his fiancée, Hermione Granger. Recently engaged, they had decided to move in together. Tonight marked their first week as roommates.
He paused for a moment to enjoy the view she presented. She had her back to him at the moment. He could see the curve of her hip, her hair hanging down her back and across the pillow she was propped up on. While it wasn't the sexiest of poses, just the mere sight of her in his bed made his stomach twist in a pleasant way. His heartbeat picked up it's pace as he thought about joining her on their bed.
Wow, he thought, our bed.
Harry slipped into bed and slid over towards her, anxious to show her how much he loved her and how much this past week had meant to him. He stopped when he was close enough to see what she was doing. Hermione was reading a novel Ginny had loaned her.
Harry sighed inwardly. She had been reading that novel all afternoon, barely coming from behind it to eat supper before pulling it back in front of her face once more. Harry felt sorely neglected and decided he was going to make her pay him some attention if it took all night.
“Hermione.”
He whispered her name in a warm raspy sigh against her neck. He wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her against him and dropping little kisses along her neck.
“Hmmm?” was the answer he received along with a roll of her shoulder.
Not one to give up easily, his lips parted to let his tongue flick across her skin.
Let's see her ignore that.
Harry upped the ante. He pulled her hair away from her face as he murmured in her ear.
“I have missed you all day.”
The arm around her waist brought his hand up to brush against her breast. It was the slightest of touches that merely caused her nightgown to slide across her nipples.
That usually drove her crazy.
“Uh hmm…”
Harry pressed the length of his body against hers, hoping she would catch on to exactly how much he missed her.
“Harry, can you wait a minute. I am almost finished with this chapter.”
Harry let out an exasperated sigh and flopped onto his back. He wondered if this was the beginning of the end.
We're not even married yet.
He lay there for a few minutes before he felt Hermione shift on the bed, marking her place and putting her book aside. She rolled over towards him and rested her hand on his chest.
“Did you need something?” she whispered in his ear, nipping at it as she finished her question.
Turn about is fair play. Let's see how she likes the cold shoulder.
“Not really. I think I'm a bit tired now. Maybe I'll just go to sleep.” He rolled away from her and onto his side.
“Ok. I just thought you might help me try out some of the things I read about in this book Ginny lent me.”
Try out? What the hell was she reading?
Harry rolled back onto his other side and pushed himself up on his arm to peer over at her nightstand.
10001 Ways to Make Your Man Scream in Ecstasy
Harry grinned at her, now noticing her own mischievous smile.
“Have you changed your mind?” she inquired as she reached for him.
He couldn't find his voice to answer, but he vowed never to interrupt her reading again.
