Dave Patterson had a long day at his job as an electrician. They were rushing to finish a new office building before the deadline and everyone was working overtime. This had been going on all week and Friday was a welcome break. His friend Steve was meeting him later to go to a club to let off some of the stress and maybe find a good looking girl to hang out with.
He let himself into his flat and quickly changed out of his work clothes and put on some more appropriate ones for the evening ahead. He didn’t even bother trying to tame his wild black hair as he knew it was hopeless. He wished that he could do something to hide the stupid scar on his forehead that people were so fond of staring at. Several people actually pointed and whispered loudly about a boy. At twenty eight, he was no longer a boy.
He had no recollection of his childhood or even his early twenties. The earliest memory he had was of doctors telling him he had been in an accident and apparently lost his memory six years ago. He had no idea what his real name was or anything. For some reason he felt he had no living relatives, and the doctors took that as a sign that not all was lost regarding his memory.
He had taken a job as an electrician soon after being released from the hospital with the name of Dave. He had worked hard to get himself settled where he was now and made a few good friends. He had shared a flat with Steve until he could get one of his own, and they often went out together.
He was soon ready and headed to the club. Steve was already there, and had gotten a table in the back. He ordered a beer and sat down across from Steve.
“Seen anyone you know?” he asked.
“No, but there is one really good looking one over there in the corner.” Steve replied.
He looked to where Steve was indicating and saw a blond woman with huge breasts surrounded by drooling guys. Steve had no hope.
Steve was a tall brown haired guy. He worked in the same building Dave did as an carpenter. They got to know each other one day while working in the same room in the building. They had quickly become friends and soon were doing just about everything together.
The night progressed and he had several more beers and a few stronger drinks. He was a little drunk when he noticed a woman dancing with a red haired man. She had long, brown hair that fell past her shoulders and was slightly curly. She was wearing a tight black dress that barley went down to mid thigh. Her breasts were being pushed out of the top of the dress, showing wonderful cleavage. Her movements were...he didn’t even know where to start. And the best thing was that they did not appear to really know each other.
He was proved right when the man and the woman went to separate tables. And the woman was sitting alone.
He quickly left his table and made his way over to hers. She didn’t notice him approach from the side and he spent a moment just looking over her. She was beautiful. He gently tapped her shoulder and asked “May I have a dance?”
She turned around and started to respond with a negative when she suddenly stopped and her rich brown eyes got huge. She blinked once. Twice. A third time. All the while staring at him. He didn’t have a clue why she was staring at him like that. It was almost like she had seen a ghost.
When she finally found her voice she practically yelled “Harry!” and leaped out of her seat and hugged him so hard that he thought his ribs would break.
He was confused. She must be mistaking him for her husband-he could see the rather expensive rings on her finger- and was probably drunk.
“Sorry, but my name is Dave Patterson. I don’t know anyone named Harry,” he replied, quickly prying her off of him. He didn’t need some guy beating the crap out of him for being hugged by his wife. The woman stepped back, and while he could see now that she wasn’t drunk, she was obviously mistaking him for someone else.
The woman shook her head and said “No, you are Harry Potter. You have to be.” The last part was said almost pleadingly.
He was really confused now. Did this woman really know that his name was Harry Potter? Did she know of his past that he didn’t remember?
He didn’t find out any more for at that moment someone yelled out “Hey! Get away from her!” He turned to see a fist flying at his face, which connected and broke his glasses and knocked him to the floor. He only had time to see that it was the red haired guy that had hit him before something else knocked him out.
