Chapter Five: "Undeniable"

A/N: Sorry, I know it has been a while and I'm really sorry about it. I needed this little break to remind myself how much I love to write. So I'll be updating often again. (:

Please read, enjoy, and review !!

Ginny walked into the dressing room slowly and cautiously. She looked from side to side, hiding the lingerie in the midst of a shirt. Once inside, she turned around to shut the door only to find Draco standing in her way.

"Get out," Ginny hissed, "I'll call you in when I'm done changing."

Draco's blank expression turned into a smirk that made Ginny's heart take off. "I can't. This is the lady's changing room. They won't let me come in."

Ginny opened her mouth to say something, but Draco pushed through her grasp, and locked the door behind the two of them. Ginny scowled, and stood there, refusing to change her clothes.

"Hurry up." Draco's voice had an amused edge to it. Ginny glared at him, and then faced the wall.

"Close your eyes," she commanded. He did as she asked, only to open them just as Ginny pulled off her shirt. Her skin was smooth and her tan was perfect. Her expression was shy as she pulled down her skirt and slipped on the lingerie quickly. Draco smiled slightly to himself as he watched the redhead change, unable to deny how beautiful she looked.

"It fits fine," Ginny muttered softly, her cheeks slightly red. Draco stood up and walked over towards Ginny. Automatically, Ginny took a step back, refusing to meet Draco's eye. He stood next to her, and touched her shoulder delicately. A shiver ran up her spine, and she flinched slightly.

"You look sexy," Draco breathed into her ear, touching her silky red hair.

"Say that to Daphne's face," Ginny shot back, stepping away from him slowly. Her heart was hammering at a pace that was abnormally fast. Taking a deep breath, Ginny started changing back into her regular clothes. While she was changing, she'd periodically glance over her shoulder. Once, she caught Draco's eye and then quickly looked back, blushing. She had to resist Draco. After all, they were no good for each other.

Once she was clothed, Draco approached her slowly and calmly. She turned around, her eyes melting into his. They stood facing each other, panting for a moment. Draco leaned forward and Ginny felt herself leaning forward. Their lips were less than an inch apart, and Ginny could see every lash on Draco's eyes.

An alarm went off inside of Ginny's head, and she pulled away quickly, just as Draco leaned forward to seal the distance between their lips.

"You're engaged," Ginny breathed. She waited for Draco to answer her, but he remained silent.

"Get changed and let's go," Draco finally spoke up, refusing to look at Ginny. She bit her lip and nodded, worried that she'd burst into tears if she opened her mouth.

A few minutes later, they exited the fitting room and walked together in silence towards the cash registers. Occasionally, Draco's hand would brush against Ginny's and she'd feel an electric current fly up her arm.

"Hurry up and pay," Ginny told Draco. "We need to hurry up if we are going to have some time to get ready for dinner."

Draco nodded and gave Ginny a lingering look before going up to the person behind the cash register. The old man smiled slightly.

"Present for your girlfriend?" he asked, his eyes twinkling. Draco smirked and chose not to answer the man. Instead, he glanced at Ginny who was standing about two feet to his right.

"I don't think it's such a surprise if you buy the present when you're girlfriend is standing right next to you," the man continued blabbing, giving Draco a wink.

Draco and Ginny looked at each other, alarmed. Ginny stammered, "We aren't… we aren't…"

"She's not my girlfriend," Draco told the man, some part of him wishing the words weren't true. He snuck another look at Ginny, her curves well defined and her red hair hanging loosely on her shoulders. Her muggle clothes fit her so well. The hugged her body in such a way that Draco just wanted to rip them off. "I'm actually engaged."

The man gave Draco a skeptical look before handing him the package. Without saying anything to the man, Draco walked towards Ginny. "Let's go," he told her quietly gesturing her towards the door.

They approached the door and Draco held it open for Ginny. She walked passed him and threw the door, her hand brushing against his entire body, sending off fireworks within him.

The two of them stood outside the store, neither one speaking up for a moment of comfortable silence. Their eyes locked, and Ginny felt Draco's eyes melting into her own.

"I'll see you at dinner then, Red," Draco told her sexily, the nickname causing butterflies to flutter madly in Ginny's stomach. He leaned over and Ginny held her breath, wondering if he was going to kiss her. His lips seemed to brush by her own as they made their way towards her cheek and planted a soft peck on them. Ginny wondered whether she should turn her face and greet his lips full on, but rather, she stood still while he kissed her cheek and then pulled away silently.

"Drakie!"

Draco and Ginny turned around instantly to find Daphne standing a few feet away, fuming. Her eyes were flashing and her face was bright red. Without looking twice at Ginny, Draco hurried over towards Daphne. Ginny stood there silently for a moment before turning around and heading back to her room.

"Stop flirting with that blood traitor," Daphne snarled. She stuffed her hand into his face, and jabbed at her giant rock. "We're engaged, in case you've forgotten."

"I remember what a fortune that bloody ring cost me," Draco responded, his tone matching hers. Daphne gasped, looking offended.

"Don't you blame me for this! You kissed that filthy tramp," Daphne accused, pointing a finger at Draco. Draco touched her hand, and her temper seemed to mitigate slightly, as if he had some kind of control over her.

"It was a platonic peck on the cheek, just to thank her for helping me pick this out for you." Draco smirked slightly and pulled out the package from behind his back. He handed it over towards her.

"A present for me?" Daphne tried not to look too pleased as she slowly unwrapped the package. She held up the silky green lingerie, a naughty sort of smirk playing on her lips. "Did you buy me this because you wanted to see me in it?" she purred. Draco's lip curved slightly.

"I can't wait until tonight, my sexy fiancée," Draco whispered, kissing her on the cheek. "After dinner, you're all mine." He leaned in to kiss her but she moved away slightly, giving him a look.

"Let's skip dinner," Daphne suggested uneasily.

"No," Draco responded a little too quickly. Daphne's eyes widened.

"Draco, we're skipping dinner," she told him warningly. She touched his arm slightly, and put on her most flirtatious look.

"That would be rude," Draco told her lamely.

"Since when do you care about being rude?" Daphne asked him snobbishly. "Besides," she cajoled, "I'll make it up to you if we skip it." She kissed him slowly before pulling away.

"I'm going to dinner. You can come if you want, or you can stay in our room," Draco told Daphne firmly. She gaped at him as he turned around and left her standing in the middle of the hall.

Harry sat alone in his apartment, staring blankly at the wall in front of him. He had been back for a day now, and still, he felt as if he was still on his journey. For some reason, everyone seemed to have moved on and Harry had nobody left for him.

Bitterly, Harry's mind switched to an image of Ron and Hermione. His insides burned with anger and jealousy as he thought about the two of them, their faces pressed together with Ron's slimy hand touching the soft brown locks on Hermione's head.

Harry swore loudly and threw the book he was holding across the room. It thumped against the wall just as Harry heard a knock on the door.

"Come on," Harry responded to the knock automatically, not registering that someone was at his door.

"Thank you," a dreamy voice came from the door. Harry turned his head and saw a young blonde standing at the door, radish earrings dangling from her ears and a seashell necklace around her thin neck. Her blonde hair was wavy and long, falling beneath her shoulders, and her shirt had a picture of a hippogriff on it. Harry's face broke into a grin.

"Luna!" Harry stood up and walked over towards her, giving her a quick, friendly hug. "It's so good to see you."

"Did you read the article that I published about you in the Quibbler?" Luna asked, smiling slightly. "I'm so thankful you're alive, Harry."

Harry actually hadn't looked at that magazine in a year.

"Er no," Harry admitted. Luna's face fell slightly.

"But I will look at it tonight since you asked me to," Harry added quickly. Luna's face brightened up a bit.

"Did you know I'm the new Editor-in-Chief?" she asked him casually, trying not to look too pleased with herself.

"Congratulations!" Harry told her honestly, really meaning it. Luna was a smart person, and she deserved to have something really good going for her.

"Thanks," Luna blushed. They stood there in silence for a few moments before Luna spoke up again. "Anyways, I was wondering if you wanted to do something fun today. I've been a bit lonely with Ginny gone to a muggle spa, and was looking for some company."

Harry bit his lip guiltily, realizing that he had already made plans with Ron and Hermione to go swimming in about an hour. He looked up at Luna apologetically. "I actually already have plans with Ron and Hermione," he admitted. After seeing Luna's heartbroken expression, he added, "But do you want to join us?"

"That's very kind of you, Harry," Luna smiled slightly. "You're a really good friend to me."

"You're a good friend also," Harry reassured her. "And thank you for visiting me today. You're the first person to do so."

She smiled. Harry stood up, and the two of them walked towards the kitchen to eat something.

Ginny spun around in the mirror, admiring the short black dress that was clinging to her body. The neckline was low and she had to admit that she looked charming in it. It was nice to wear fancy clothes that weren't dress robes for a change.

Looking in the mirror, Ginny ran the comb through her hair a few times and then adjusted her dress so that it fit her just right. Checking the clock that was on her nightstand, she realized it was time to go. Ginny picked up her purse and shut off the lights before leaving her room.

Ginny hadn't realized how cold it was inside of the building until she had locked her room. She shivered and wrapped her hands around her bare arms. Too lazy and late to go back and get her jacket, Ginny ignored the cold air brushing up against her arms and legs. Once she was within sight of the restaurant, she realized that a blonde and brunette were already waiting for her.

Ginny felt her breathing stop as she stared at Draco. His shabby blonde hair had been combed slightly so it was neat and his suit made him look irresistible. He gave Ginny a half smile and she bit her lip in order to hold back the goofy grin that was threatening to spread across her face.

Now, Ginny's gaze shifted to Daphne, and her heart fell as she realized how beautiful the pureblood was. Her brown hair hung straight on her head and swept past her shoulders. The dark green dress she wore looked as if it was made specifically to match her piercing eyes.

"Thanks for inviting us," Draco told Ginny politely. Ginny looked to Daphne, waiting for her to say something. Draco did the same. When Daphne didn't speak up, Draco elbowed her.

Daphne cleared her throat. "Yes, I'm famished."

The three of them filed into the room and sat down at the table. Ginny flipped over her menu and realized, to her horror, that the prices were outrageously high. There was no way she'd have enough money to cover their expensive meal for that night. Ginny bit her lip and looked around and the couple, her heart rate sky rocketing. She couldn't tell them to go home, because she had done so much to get them there, but she couldn't go through with the night either.

Sighing, Ginny looked through her menu, knowing that the night was bound to be a disaster.
