Chapter One
Five years after graduating Hogwarts
Braden Zabini slipped out of bed and quickly began to get dressed. In the past five years, he hadn't changed too much. His hair fell into his eyes and his chest was broader. If it wasn't for the stubby facial hair, he would have still looked boyish. As he was zipping up his pants, the woman lying in bed stirred and soon after she opened her hazel eyes. Her silky black hair was mussed and she wore a satisfied smile on her face.
“Why don't you just stay the night?” asked Victoria Goyle.
Braden shook his head.
“I can't. I have to relieve Dani's babysitter.”
“I'll come with you,” Victoria replied as she reached for her own clothes.
“No, you don't have to. I was just planning on going home and having some ice cream with Dani. You'll just be bored.”
“You just don't want me to go. I'm good enough to sleep with but I'm not good enough to spend time with your family,” argued Victoria.
He took a deep breath and sat on the edge of the bed.
“You know that's not true,” he started. “How about this weekend you, Dani, and me go do something?”
Victoria began to smile.
“That sounds great.”
Braden scooted closer to her and softly cupped her chin.
“You're important to me and I'm sorry if I don't always show it.”
She seemed satisfied and so Braden gave her a kiss, grabbed his jacket, and left her flat. He made his way down the elevator and into the parking garage. Whistling, he opened the door to his Jaguar. On his way home his cell phone rang. Glancing at the caller ID, he immediately answered the phone.
“Hey, D. I'm almost home.”
“Good,” replied the five year old. “B, Mrs. Brigg is too old to kidsit me. I think we need to find someone younger. Or an even better idea, you could never leave.”
Braden laughed. For five years of age, Danielle Zabini was wise beyond her years. She never ceased to amaze him.
“I mean come on. One day you are going to go out and when you come back I'll be 16 and dating a guy who's completely wrong for me,” continued Dani.
Braden shuddered at the thought of his little sister dating.
“Mhm. You are never allowed to date. Boys are bad. They have flesh eating diseases,” replied Braden.
“You're a boy and so is Uncle Cam.”
“We're different. We're men.”
“So I want a man,” questioned Dani.
“No, how about I pick the guy who does not have a flesh eating disease,” offered Braden.
“Ok.”
Braden hoped the day would never come when Dani began to like boys.
“What's Mrs. Brigg doing?” he asked.
Dani was silent for a minute.
“She's cutting her toenails,” she whispered. “It's really gross. None of her nails are the same color.”
Braden briefly pictured the little old lady with rainbow colored toenails.
“Maybe she paints them that way,” stated Braden.
“Uh..I don't think that's paint, B.”
Ew thought Braden.
“Hey, I'm pulling into the driveway so I'll see you in a minute.”
He hung up the phone and got out of the car. Before he inserted the key into the keyhole, the front door swung open and a little girl with dark brown hair and blue eyes was in his arms.
“Finally,” yelled Dani.
Laughing, Braden carried Dani into the living room. Mrs. Brigg was currently putting on her socks and shoes. Discolored toe nails littered the floor. With a wave of his hand, the toe nails vanished.
“Mr. Zabini, you are home early,” stated Mrs. Brigg.
“Yes, thanks for babysitting Mrs. Brigg.”
“Hey, I'm no baby,” interrupted Dani.
“Danielle, you know better than to interrupt,” scolded Mrs. Brigg.
“Well, thanks for kidsitting (Dani smiled). I'll get your pay,” said Braden.
As he headed out into the hall, Mrs. Brigg followed behind him.
“I'm very glad you came home early. Now, I can surprise my husband. It has been a while since we've had…you know.”
Unfortunately, Braden did know and was trying to get the mental image of Mrs. Brigg and her discolored toes having sex out of his head. He quickly paid her and walked her to the door.
“Night Mrs. Brigg.”
“Night.”
With a pop, Mrs. Brigg was gone. Braden closed the door and set Dani down.
“So how about some ice cream?” he asked her.
“YES!! Can we go see Uncle Cam? He makes the best sundaes,” said an excited Dani.
“Sure.”
Braden grabbed her coat and waited for her to button it up. Together, they walked outside. Reaching for her hand, he apparated to his restaurant, Forbidden.

“Tony, I said diced onions,” yelled Cameron Malfoy. “These onions are chopped. Do it again.”
Cameron passed the bowl of onions to one of his clumsiest workers. He made his way around the kitchen criticizing and praising some of the chefs.
“Too much salt! You need to lighten the sauce a bit. Yuck, not enough salt! Tony where are my diced onions.”
Cameron was so busy running his kitchen he did not notice the little girl until she ran into him.
“Uncle Cam!”
Cameron smiled and picked the little girl up.
“Benny, take over for me. I'll be back in a little,” directed Cameron.
Cameron spotted Braden and motioned for him to meet him in the back room. Carrying Dani, Cam walked into the back and placed her on an empty counter.
“So what are you doing here, Squirt?”
“You're making me a sundae,” replied Dani as if it was obvious.
Cameron laughed and went to get some ice cream from the freezer. Braden walked into the room stuffing his face with garlic bread.
“This is amazing. I need to eat here more often. Plus owning this place gives me lots of perks.”
Cameron rolled his eyes.
“It's only under your name, buddy.”
“Yeah, I know. So when are you going to admit that you are my silent partner.”
“As soon as I tell my father that I have been lying to him for the last five years.”
“He still thinks you are working for me huh?”
“Yeah.”
Braden wasn't going to discuss the matter further. He's already told Cameron numerous times that he needs to be recognized for this amazing establishment. Cameron finished Dani's ice cream and handed it to her.
“So how are things going?” asked Cam.
“They're good. Dani is doing great. My businesses are doing better than expected.”
“How's Victoria?”
“She's fine,” stated Braden.
“Will Forbidden be catering a wedding anytime soon?” joked Cam.
“No, definitely not.”
Dani feeling left out decided to make her presence known.
“Where do babies come from?” she asked innocently.
