Certain Similarities

Prologue

Wind swirled around the room as he tried to block the blinding light from his eyes. Before them was a swirling vortex reaching into time.

“Harry, don't go!” She cried out to him.

“I have to Hermione. Even if I am able to defeat him, what's left? Almost everyone we know or care about is gone, and they are never coming back, so what are we fighting fore here.”

“You don't even know if this will work.”

“It has to. There's not other way. Why have you been so against this?” Harry asked Hermione and barely being heard.

“I'm not against the idea Harry, I'm against the fact that it you who is going. I don't want to lose you.” The tears nearly broke his heart; he meant to do this alone.

“Come with me, we will do this together. In fact, I don't think I can do this without you.”

Things were unclear, was it a dream, a memory, a premonition of sorts. Why was everything so dark, why couldn't he see; Where was he?

Everything had gone down hill after the death of Sirius. His death worked in Voldemort's favor, Harry felt broken that summer. Half of him hoped the past year had been some sort of sick dream. He would wake up to find that he got knocked out in Quidditch, Ron would be there, everyone would be there and not where he saw them in his `dream.'

He started to hear voices.

“Any idea of who they might be?” one voice said.

“I'm sorry Professor Dippet, I haven't the foggiest idea.” Said another.

“Well let me know the minute they are awake and alert, I'm sure Professor Dumbledore will assist with any Potion that might help.”

“I will sir.”

Then the voices faded away.

“There might be other ways to defeat Voldemort. Other then outright dueling him out.”

“What do you mean Professor?”

“You have become an admirable Wizard Harry, I dare say you might have been able to give Tom Riddle a run for his Galleons when he was your age. Now, he has evolved into something more. If only he was stopped sooner. You should head to bed, I do believe you have Potions first thing tomorrow, you wouldn't want to be late for a Pop Quiz now would you?”

“Thank you Professor Dumbledore.”

“Harry, wake up. We did it, we made it. But first you have to wake up!”
