Catch Me When I Fall: Rainy Day Blues

1. Catch Me When I Fall

Disclaimer: I credit JKR with creating the wonderful world of HP. I only humbly wrote this.

Author's Note:

I know, I know, I should be doing my other story, The Crazy Way it Ends, but I needed a break. Please don't hurt me. *winces* Well, I figured I needed more angst in my life, so I wrote this at like 4 o'clock in the morning after I fought with my mum. It's rather depressing, but I guess most of my stories are. Read and Review.

Rainy Day Blues

I'm sitting outside in the rain, the water mingling with my salty tears, but I can't tell the difference. I open my mouth and let the water wash away my fears, my hopes, my dreams. They're bent and broken, just like your body lying there on the rocks. The rain stops. A drop lingers, just one drop, hanging from a red flower. Red; as red as your blood splashed across the craggy boulders. Just one drop for all my memories of you. The flashes of you and me, me and you, fade away, and I'm left with a drop of water falling into my outstretched hand. Falling, like you tumbled through the air. There was no one there to catch you.

Why is it that you couldn't see? She blinded you. Why did I have to tell you and ruin it all? You might have still been alive if I hadn't. There might not be a suicide note tied to a rock. Yes, you would have still been with Hermione, but you would've been alright. Time would have worked its way through out lives, I might have fallen for another, but there always would have been that special place for you in my heart. A soft spot for your red hair and freckles. A tender shelf for your gangly limbs and hand me down robes. A sweet safe for you and your annoying minute owl.

As I take that step towards the edge, I can see you here beside me. You hold out your hand and I grasp it firmly. Your surprisingly warm flesh body is whisked away from my hand by the wind, leaving only memories behind. Our first introduction. Helping each other in the Department of Mysteries. The Attack of the Brains. I'm laughing, and crying, and running, and jumping down and off the cliff. I fall into your arms, not even feeling a bump when I hit the ocean-sprayed rocks below. My blood mingles with yours on the gray granite. Long live Luna Lovegood and Ronald Weasley.
