The Reason

2. Epilouge

Author's Note: Just to say that I haven't had ANY reviews, I'm posting this up as well. Ahah… one shot turned two shot. Ah well. Here you are. Oh yeah, READ AND REVIEW!

Draco had waited for seven months to see his future wife again and when the Final Battle arrived, he saw it as a sign that he would be going home soon to his fiancée. Now that he was standing at the driveway of the Burrow together with Harry and Ron, he never felt more excited in his whole life. He couldn't wait to see Ginny and spend as much time with her as he could before their wedding planning started.

As they came up to the Burrow, Draco recalled the time he got a letter back from Ginny saying that she would marry him. He was so overjoyed she accepted that he told both Harry and Ron at the same time, not caring what their reactions would be to the news. He thought they took it quite well actually…

*Flashback*

`You WHAT!?!?' screamed a furious Ron as Harry held him back from Draco.

`I asked her to marry me, Ron, and she said YES! There's nothing you can do about it.' smirked Draco.

`You WAIT until I tell my father! He'll agree with me that this is a bad idea. He'll -`

`He gave me permission to do so. I see no reason to bring in Mr. Weasley into this.' Draco said coolly.

`Ron, if your dad has said it's alright, then leave it be. There's nothing you can do. I'm sure Draco will take god care of Ginny. They love each other.' said Harry.

`But Harry you don't get it, do you? This is MALFOY we're talking about! I don't want HIM -`he pointed at Draco, 'to be my brother-in-law! He has always put my family down in the past and now he wants to be a part of it? WHAT IS THAT? Some kind of twisted plot to get to me? Even though he's helping the Order and everyone thinks that he's changed doesn't mean that he's still the slimy little ferret at heart! How could you trust him so easily, Harry? He doesn't do anything but lie and cheat!' Ron ranted.

`As if, Weas -Ron. I meant no such thing. I do love your sister, very much. And if I ever did hurt her, then I give you permission to do whatever you see fit. And I'm not a ferret! That happened in 4th year and it still haunts my dreams. I don't lie or cheat either. I told you where to fine Voldy, didn't I?' said Draco.

`Ron, he's telling the truth you know. He does love Ginny, and she loves him back. There's nothing to worry about.' Harry injected.

Ron kept staring at Draco with a glare that could stop anything in its tracks. Then he gave a sigh of defeat and turned away from Draco and Harry and left the tent, leaving to see if anything new had come up.

Harry turned to Draco. `You really know how to push his buttons don't you? Ah well, at least he's accepting it. I'm happy for you, Draco, really and truly I am, that you finally asked her. You'll make a good husband, if you keep up with the goody-two shoes routine and not give Ron a reason to kill you. '

`Don't worry, Harry. I've changed. Nothing will harm Ginny if I'm around.' Draco said firmly.

`Let's keep an open mind.' said Harry, and he left the tent as well.

*End of Flashback*

He turned into the front lawn of the Burrow and turned to look at his two companions, deep in conversation about something. He cleared his throat.

`So… we're OK with things, right, Ron?' he asked, cautiously.

`Yeah, yeah, whatever. S'long as you don't hurt her, you don't get hurt either.' Ron mumbled.

`OK, so do we go in now?' Harry asked the two.

`Yeah, lets! I smell my mum's cooking!' said Ron with excitement.

`Do you ever think about anything else BUT food?' said Draco sarcastically.

Harry laughed at his comment while Ron ignored him and entered the Burrow.

`So, happy to be home Harry?' asked Draco.

`Yeah, it feels so good to have nothing weighing on me. And now that there's nothing that's going to cause any disturbances, I can spend some quality time with Hermione.' said Harry dreamily.

Draco smirked and entered the Burrow. When he got inside, he got pushed over and all he saw nothing but a blur of red hair. I know who this is, Draco thought instantly.

`I'm so glad you're finally home!' cried Ginny.

`I couldn't let you sit here and be whisked away by some guy who has the hots for you.' smirked Draco.

He leaned in and gave a small kiss on the lips and pulled away instantly and looked at her hand. She was wearing the ring he had sent her those many months ago. It had changed color, just like it had when he had first bought it. It had now turned silvery gray. Now, why did it change into that color, Draco thought.

Author's Note: Thank you everyone for your reviews and reading my stories but I'm sorry to say that I will be deleting the stories that I have written here on Portkey except for this one because I have had no time in the past few months to update ANY because of my school year making me prepare for public exams. This is the only one I've completed and I am proud of this one. I may come back again to complete the others but improved. Thank you all for your reviews, supporting or otherwise.
