Chapter Sixteen- The Reverience

`What was I?' asked Draco again, standing shakily and smoothing back his hair. `Erm………' was all Harry could say, still shocked from what he witnessed. `I wasn't a ferret was i?' he asked nervously and angrily. Harry shook his head, `Far from, actually. Here, drink this and see for your self,' Harry offered him a goblet of steaming potion that he just scooped from the cauldron behind him. The blond-haired boy sniffed it apprehensively before gulping it down. It took a few seconds before anything happened. Then, once again Harry stood back against the wall as Draco transformed. He then conjured a large mirror and held it up to the dragon in front of him.

He was about medium-sized, around two to three tonnes, iridescent, pearly scales and glittering, multi-colored, pupiless eyes, hence its name. He was completely white, with a few silver scales randomly placed over his body. And Harry had to admit, he was beautiful, in a non-sexual way, he thought instantly after thinking it. Draco transformed back, a look of complete awe on his face.

`I'm-I'm a-a-an Antipodean Opaleye!' he said still gazing at his form in the mirror even though he was in his human figure. Harry stepped forwards. `Umm-you're a dragon' he said stupidly trying to put everything into place. `I think I already know that!' he said glancing at him a look of anger on his face. `Well-umm-yeah' he said again sounding stupid. `Yes, there's a dragon on our family crest and my great, great grandfather was a dragon in his animagus form also. Hey,' he turned to Harry, `Wanna go out into the grounds?' he asked a smile lighting up on his face. Harry didn't know if he should trust him, after all, he was a Malfoy. In the end he agreed to go out with him, if only for a few minutes. Draco was flying over head, almost invisible in the night air, as white looming clouds hung over head. Harry was running around the grounds, in his wolf form, wishing he was in the sky, flying. He was wishing and thinking so hard on flying that he hadn't realised he was standing on the water of the lake.

“Hang on?” he thought. “Standing?” he stared down, through the dark depths of the water and realised he was floating easily on the water, his paws barely skimming the surface. He looked around nervously, loosing conversation and plunging into the dark depths of the water. He doggy paddled to the edge of the lake, shaking madly at his soaking hair. He stared at the water, seeing no hidden platform and feeling no invisible one with his paw. The still water twinkled innocently up at him, as if to say, `What?' he tried again, pawing the water curiously, but to no avail. He began running up the slope behind him, turning back down when he reached a fair distance. He bolted back down the hill, eyes closed; trying not to think about what he was going to do. He kept on running, even when he thought he must have reached the lake by now. He stopped suddenly, sliding on an unknown slippery plane; he slowly opened his eyes, finding himself upon the surface of the lake, looking down through the watery ground. They pent much longer than they had planned out on the ground, Harry finding it hilariously funny when Draco had spotted him running along the surface of the lake, and thinking it frozen landed upon it, sinking straight through and down. When they finally began heading in the first rays of light where shining over the horizon. They quickly bolted into the castle, Draco down into the dungeons while Harry ran up the staircase and into the Gryffindor common room. He jumped into bed and pulled the covers over his head just as Ron yawned sleepily.

`Where were yeh' he asked groggily, looking at him from his one opened eye. Harry peered at him cautiously, `just went to the toilet, come one, I wanna go back to sleep,' he muttered snuggling into his pillow. Ron grunted and began snoring again a few minutes later. He let out a very anticipating breath, glad he didn't have to explain to his best friend why he was out in the grounds with his arch enemy.

Hermione prodded him for the fifth time during transfiguration as his eyes drooped and he accidentally turned her book into a small furry bird that barked. `Watch it Harry, what's with you today, you look worse than Malfoy.' Harry peered over at the blond haired boy sitting down the front, he had his eyes closed and was twirling his wand carelessly through his hair, unaware that he was leaving purple streaks through it. They were meant to be turning chairs into dogs this lesson, and the classroom was full of barking canines of all shapes and sizes. They kept coming up to Harry and sniffing him cautiously and yelped and bounded away if he moved suddenly. Draco was having the same problem, but the dogs just stayed away from him, tail between their legs. Hermione seemed to have noticed this because she kept throwing suspicious looks over at him, but never said anything.

Harry didn't know if he should tell his two best friends that he was now, kind of friends with Draco Malfoy. That night when they were sitting in the common room chatting about, Harry made up his mind. `Umm…guys?' he said casually.

`Hmmm,' Hermione said, while Ron looked up at him expectantly. He took a deep breath, `forthelastmonthihavebeenteachingdracomalfoytobeananimagus!' he said in a rush, not stopping for breath. Ron was looking at him strangely while Hermione had a hand to her mouth.

`Mate, slower, I couldn't understand you,' said Ron, while Harry repeated what he said but slower, `for the last two weeks I have been teaching Malfoy to be an animagus, yesterday he transformed, into, you won't believe this, a dragon.' Ron's face became extremely pale, then immediately returned to its original colour but kept getting red.

`WHAT?' he yelled gaining the attention of a group of third years sitting nearby. Harry shushed him. `Really, Harry?' asked Hermione staring at him disbelievingly. He nodded pleadingly at Ron who was staring numbly at him. `he asked me a couple of weeks ago, he said he wanted some other way of escape if the death eaters came back for him, I couldn't turn him down if he didn't want to join Voldemort. So I took him to the Room of Requirement and gave him the potion after he first transformed. And he's this huge, white dragon, with bits of silver scales. He said he was an, what was it, an Antipode opal something,' Hermione gasped suddenly, `An Antipodean Opaleye? Are you SERIOUS!' He nodded slightly wandering what was wrong with that, `what's up with that?' he asked curiously.

`Are you serious? Antipodean Opaleye's are dragons of the light, there's no way that Malfoy could be a servant of Voldemort. There are some that tended to be slightly evil but they never were part of the dark side!' she rushed, leaving Harry nodding dumbly. `Ok, and, oh I can walk on water!' Ron whipped his head around at him. `Ahh……Harry what do you mean, `you can walk on water'?'

`Exactly what I said,' he said merrily. Hermione was staring at him, `Harry, wolves can't walk on water, and you're a wolf.'

`I know but last night I went out with Malfoy and I didn't notice where I was walking then I realised I was standing on the lake and I lost concentration and almost drowned in the water. I climbed out and took a run up and pelted down across it again. Don't ask me how.'

`Are you serious?' Hermione finally asked, `did you know your saying that a lot tonight?' he said humorously. Her face turned red, `but I am serious Harry!'

`So you're saying you were able to walk on `water'?' stammered Ron, his eyes protruding from their sockets. He nodded casually, `I told you it was weird, I'm as shocked as you are!' his red headed friend shook his head crazily, `firstly, you tell us that you have become `friends' with Malfoy, then you say you helped him become an animagus because he didn't `want' to be a death eater, now you tell us you can walk on `water'!'

`Stop emphasizing all the main words, Ron, its annoying!' muttered Hermione. Harry nodded slowly, `I told you I had something to say!'

`Yes, you didn't, but you didn't say `what' you were gonna say, and I definitely didn't expect `that'!'

`Ron, stop it with the emphasizing!' she said again angrily. Harry had expected this, with Ron's bad temper and tendency to over react, how couldn't he?

`And a dragon!' he grumbled, `a bloody dragon! Why couldn't he have been a ferret or snail, but no, he's a freakin' dragon!'

`Ron!' scoffed Hermione, `don't swear!' Ron glared at her. `I will talk how I please, thank you very much!' Harry groaned as another of their famous scuffles broke out. It lasted for almost fifteen minutes before he broke in, stopping their argument on house elves for some strange reason. `Stop it, Harry. What's wrong?' Hermione puffed giving a last scornful glare at Ron. `Just stop fighting, that also gets annoying. Listen, both of you,' Ron looked menacingly at him, `what's done is done, and it's not gonna change. I helped Malfoy be an animagus and you'll have to live with it. But once you get to know him, he isn't such a total prat,' Ron's mouth opened wide in horror, and then he shut it forcefully.

`How come he gets to be a dragon and I have to be a stupid monkey,' `Ape,' butted in Hermione, `what is ape?' `The orang-utan is a part of the ape family!' `Who cares,' he snapped back. It continued like that for the rest of the night only ending when Harry announced he was going to bed, leaving a bickering couple of Gryffindors behind. He didn't hear Ron enter that night or the rest of his room mates; he was too busy with a dream that was taking place.

He was standing in a clearing of a great forest, the trees stretched into the night sky, becoming mere shadows. The forest was silent; no sound was heard except the swaying of branches of the many trees. It was not the school's forest as its trees were pine, beech, slightly smaller than these and strung closely together. These trees were huge and spaced apart in large amounts of space, the ground was dirt and leaf strewn. He was standing in his own body; he felt his cold steel glasses upon his nose, his scruffy fringe lay across his forehead. The trees swayed and an out of place owl hooted from above. A few twigs snapped to his left, as a shadowy form appeared out of the darkness. The white wolf stepped closer, its golden eyes glowing in the gloom. Harry stood completely still as it took another step and transformed into a beautiful woman. She has pale skin, deep ruby red lips, long sweeping white hair and deep purpley-blue eyes. She looked neither young nor old, her face was ageless.

She glided forward, her feet bare, her dress was long, white and sweeping. She smiled a smile that made her glow, Harry stood breathless. `Come, my son,' she turned and beckoned him to follow. They walked through the night, Harry stumbling occasionally on upturned roots or stepping on twigs. The white woman glided over the dirt ground, making no noise as though she was floating. They stopped beside a large dark lake, its depths silent and lifeless. The white woman turned to him, the smile still present on her ruby lips, her hair billowed down her back, passing her hips.

`You are not sure where you are. You are not sure who I am. You are not sure who you are your self.' Harry opened his mouth to speak but no words came out. `Hush, little one. You need not use your voice in this forest as I already know your question. I am known by no names. No human eyes have set their view upon me before now. You may call me any name that you wish, young Harry. I am the essence of all that is good, all that is free all that is love. You have entered the Reverience, or Forest of Dreams. You are the first of your kind to have entered its soulful bliss. It has allowed you entrance as have I. You are the boy of the light. No darkness which resides in your body may stay there for long, as your soul is filled with untainted love and light. The one you call Voldemort or Tom Riddle has attempted in many occasions to enter your mind and take what is truthfully yours, your soul. He knows not of the entire prophecy, only two do in your world.

`Your form is of the black wolf, the shadowed one. It is the colour of hate, pain and dark. But not always. I am the white wolf, Amity, the symbol of love, peace and light. If you were not of that world and born in mine, you will be the same as me, untainted, free. My colour is white while yours is black; it shows in many things, your hair, your form, your enemy. Do not feel confused by what you hear; as it is the truth, you are Daroth, the black wolf of this world. When you are in your human form, your wolf spirit will be here, in The Reverience, in the Forest of Dreams. Do not be afraid, dear Harry, as you will understand soon enough.'

Harry opened and closed his mouth in mock loss of words. Finally regaining his voice he spoke, `How can I walk on water?' he asked dumbly. She smiled sweetly. `Of all the things you could have asked about me, or this world, you asked about the water. All the things in this world are connected, and they mostly abide by the rules and powers of this world. So, when you took the form of the black wolf the water had to abide by the rules and allow for you to walk upon it. Only some things will allow for you to use you power, although some may not.' Harry nodded.

`What about the white in the black of my form, what happened?' he asked.

`That, Harry, is the part of your world showing in you. If you were born in this world, again you would be pure, a complete black wolf, as I am white, I have been since the beginning of this world.'

`How long ago was that?' he asked very curious now. She smiled softly. `That is for another time, young Harry, as you are about to be woken in your world. Until we meet again, child of the light.' Before Harry could ask what she meant, the forest and the white woman dissolved in front of him. His eye lids opened to blinding light and the blurred form of something orange. His glasses were placed upon his known by his waker, which happened to be Ron.

`We're late, Harry, we've missed breakfast already, we better hurry or we'll be late for Duelling!' Harry scrambled out of bed and quickly changed, hurrying down into the Entrance Hall then off to thew Duelling Room. They were just entering when they arrived. Hermione glared at them as they caught up to her, both out of breath. She looked at Harry and a small smile crept on her lips.

`Didn't brush your hair again I see, Harry.' She chuckled, and then went on to the middle of the hall where the rest of the class was. Harry quickly tried to flatten or at least brush his hair with his fingers, making his way after Hermione. Professor Dimity was still teaching them different Duelling tactics, but she surprised the whole class this time. She walked over to the far wall where many weapons were kept and pulled off a large sword.

She announced across the hall. `Today class we will begin to use different tactics in fighting, we will begin to use swords at first and when most of you have mastered that we will move on. Please make your way over to this wall and take one knife or sword, it doesn't matter what size or sort. When that has been done, line up along the far wall, leaving about two meters of space between each other.' When that had been completed, the professor walked up and down the line of students, naming and describing the sword that they had chosen.

`The weapon that you choose you will keep until it is broken or lost, in other words, not for a very long time.' She looked at Harry, `Professor Dumbledore has supplied a weapon for you, Mr. Potter, and I will give it to you when I have finished explaining about the other weapons.'

`Japanese Samurai, used in mostly fighting and defending,' she said to Ron, who had chosen the largest sword out of all of them. `Dagger, used for quick fighting, light and easy to use,' she said to Hermione. She past Harry and moved on to Dean, who had a broadsword, slightly smaller that Ron's. At the end after she had finished her track, she walked over to a wooden case near her jacket. She opened it and pulled out a large sword. She carefully moved over to Harry and placed the jewel encrusted sword in his out stretched hands. It was Godric Gryffindor's Sword. Its many rubies and jewels still glittered along its handle, its metal hilt shined in the morning light. He ran his fingers along the sharp edge, he gasped as his blood trickled from the newly made cut.

By the end of the lesson many of them were considerably better at sword fighting then they were at the start of the day. Harry's fingers were sore and cut from Gryffindor's sword, but he could handle it very well, more so than he thought possible. The day past quickly and soon Harry was making his way to Snape's office for his occlumency lesson. The potion master was in a fowl mood as usual, but for some reason he couldn't enter Harry's mind.

`Potter, I'm not sure how you are keeping me out, but I'm pretty sure you couldn't have improved that much in just a week. I presume that someone has been helping you, and I will find out who it is, but until next time Potter, get out of my office.' Harry smiled and made his way back up through the dungeons and up the many staircases. Soon he was lying in his four poster bed, thinking of Amity and if he would see her again that night in his dreams. He brushed his fingers along the tabletop as he took his glasses off, suddenly realising something. He turned on the lamp and stared at his finger. The cuts were gone.
