Chapter 13: Memory and assurance.

Harry and Hermione made their way back to the Burrow, they saw that the adults were still laughing at something but shrugged it off as they made their way up the stairs to Harry’s room to relax.

They bumped into Ron, Ginny, and Draco who were smiling.

“Great Slap!” Ron and Draco cheered which caused Hermione to go red when she remembered the slap.

“Oh God.” Hermione muttered as she buried her face in her hands. Ginny smiled at Hermione and placed a hand on her shoulder. Hermione looked at Ginny. Ginny leaned in.

“He need it and you needed to let your anger go.” Ginny whispered into Hermione’s ear, letting her know that it was the right thing to do and not to feel embarrassed about it. Hermione smiled at Ginny and gave her hug,

Both Harry and Hermione made their way to Harry’s room while the rest of them walked down the stairs, thinking what will happen now.

“What are you going to do?” Harry asked when the two of them sat on the bed.

“I don’t know; prepare the funeral I guess.” Hermione whispered and Harry hugged her.

“I’m right here, I’ll help you in anything that you need, okay?” Harry whispered and Hermione looked at him.

“Just hug me Harry.” Hermione whispered and Harry leaned back pulling Hermione into his side, she curled up into his side as they both comforted each other.

“What do you want?” Mr. Granger demanded.

“I’m gonna get revenge on your bitch of a daughter, she ruined my life so I’m gonna ruin hers and bring down that wonderful Potter along with her.” The hostage sneered.

“Why? She never did anything to you!” Mrs. Granger sobbed, scared fro her daughter’s life.

“She destroyed the future, it was suppose to be mine but no, she had to come along and destroy it, she’s the one thing that’s keeping Potter sane and alive, so she is his strength but also his weakness, so by making her think I kill you will make Potter push her away, he’ll blame himself so he’ll push her right into my hands and I will have my fun with her before putting her out of her misery.” The voice sneered and he laughed cruelly as he left the dungeons, leaving the Grangers scared for their daughter’s life and her loved one.

Harry woke up a few hours later, he looked down at Hermione who was sleeping, he noticed that she had some tear tracks down her cheeks and it made his heart clench. He was going to kill who ever it was who killed her parents, if they were murdered, no one was allowed to hurt Hermione and live. He got out of bed slowly so that he didn’t disturb her, she needed the sleep and he was going to make sure that she does.

He crept down the stairs and walked over to the fridge to get some food, he was starving, as they didn’t get to eat much when they got the owl.
Harry pulled out the tray of pumpkin pie and grabbed a fork as he made his way to the table and sat down, he began eating. His heart clenched when he thought about the time when that bastard hurt Hermione. He could remember every emotion he felt when he found out the truth behind Hermione’s act.

He was stunned that Hermione had felt that she couldn’t trust him but it was after he brought her back to the hospital wing, after rescuing her from Voldemort.

“Mr. Potter!” Poppy screeched when she saw Harry storm in the hospital wing with Hermione lying in his arms.

“Please Madam, you have to save her.” Harry begged as he hurried over and leaned her on the bed. Poppy rushed over and started checking Hermione out, she pulled away with a grave face.

“Harry, the spell that was cast on her was a powerful one, it should have killed her, but for some reason it didn’t, all we can do now is wait to see if she’ll be strong enough to fight the spell and survive.” Poppy said as she hurried over to the cabinet and took out some medicines. Harry sat on the bed and took Hermione’s hand.

“You’ve got to make it Hermione, please, I can’t live with out you.” Harry whispered as he kissed the middle of her palm. Poppy watched with a heavy heart, she could feel the tears filling up her eyes.

Harry gasped as the emotions rushed forward, reacting to that memory, he hated that memory, not knowing if she was going to live or not, he hardly slept or ate for 2 weeks, he just stayed by her side, praying, hoping, begging that she was going to pull through and come back to him.

“No more of that.” Harry whispered to himself as he shook his head to get rid of the memory and looked out of the window at the star-filled sky.

Hermione woke up and felt about in the bed, she sat up when she realized that Harry wasn’t there, she looked around the room and saw that the door was slightly open, he left it opened so that way he wouldn’t disturb her when he came back up. Hermione changed into her P.J and made her way down to the kitchen, she stopped when she saw Harry’s eyes dull a little and knew that he was thinking about something bad that happened, she heard him whisper and shake his head.

Hermione walked over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, causing Harry to jump a little, startled.

He turned to face Hermione.

“What are you doing up?” Harry asked as he gently drew Hermione onto his lap.

“You were gone.” Hermione said as she rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. Harry kissed the top of her head.

“Will everything be alright Harry?” Hermione whispered; fear creeping into her voice, making her seems like a small child.

“I promise you’ll be safe.” Harry whispered back as they both looked out of the window, knowing that Harry never answered her question yet not commenting on it either.
