Chapter 22: a surprise for Harry.
Harry slowly woke up, he looked around as one of his hands came up to check the back of his head, he winced slightly when he felt the bruise and pulled his hand away to bring it to his face to check for blood, he froze when he saw his hand.
“What the hell?” Harry gasped when he looked at his hands; he looked around the room in totally confusement. “This is so not my day!” He burst out angrily.
The common door opened, attracting everyone attention, they all looked toward the door but was puzzled when they couldn’t see anything.
Hermione was sitting on the couch, reading a book.
“Hey Mione.” A voice greeted.
“Hey Harry.” Hermione greeted back as she looked up from her book only to look around confused, “Harry?” Hermione asked, wrinkling her nose in confusement.
“Down here sweetie.” Harry sighed and Hermione looked over her book, her eyes widen in shock, everyone was looking at Harry in a stunned daze.
Ron came in with a bottle of butter beer.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” Ron asked as he rounded the corner, taking a sip of his butter beer only for his eyes to widen and he spat out the beer with laugher when he saw his best friend.
“Harry?” Hermione asked, not sure and Harry nodded his head.
“Trust me, it’s me.” Harry confirmed as he looked at Ron with a glare.
“You are a PUPPET!” Ron hooted as he clutched his stomach.
There stood a three feet puppet in front of Hermione, with green eyes, black messy hair, and a lighting bolt shape scar on his forehead.
“Harry, what happened?” Hermione asked and Harry shrugged.
“I don’t know, all I remember is that I was walking in this room and there was a flash of lightening, blinding me, I remember hitting the wall and knocking myself out, when I woke up I was like this!” Harry exclaimed pointing to him and looked at Hermione with a panic desperation look. “Please Mione, you have to change me back!” Harry begged and Hermione shrugged helpless.
“Harry, I’ve never heard of anything like this happening before!” Hermione explained and Harry groaned.
“I can image what Voldemort is going to do when he faces me for the final battle. ‘Oh look! There’s little puppet potter, do a little dance will you? Give us a laugh.” Harry mimicked in a sarcastic tone, which only doubled Ron’s laugher and caused the rest of the room to get over their shock and laughed too. Hermione bit her lips as she looked at her boyfriend in sympathy.
“Harry…” Hermione started but Harry lost it.
“I’m off.” Harry stormed as he strode out of the room to the head boy room. Hermione rolled her eyes at everyone and ran after Harry. She found him sitting on the bed.
“Harry.” Hermione said as she walked over to the bed and sat down next to him. Harry just grunted.
“Mione, I can’t stay like this, it’s too weird and I hate the feeling that I’m filled with fluff!” Harry commented and Hermione giggled slightly which caused Harry to glare at her. “I’m glad you are finding this funny.” Harry snapped and Hermione rolled her eyes.
“Harry, it doesn’t matter how you look to me.” Hermione started.
“Well it does to me, I rather be flesh and blood rather than felt and fluff.” Harry snarled and Hermione kissed him in the cheek, he was soon covered in a bright light, which caused Hermione to shield her eyes.
When the light diminished, Hermione looked at Harry and smiled.
“What are you smiling at!” Harry snapped, not knowing what just happened. Hermione just squealed as she grabbed his face and pulled him into a kiss. “Whoa!” Harry exclaimed before he was lost to the kiss, he groaned as he pulled her closer to him. Hermione broke the kiss and waited for Harry to open his eyes to look into hers.
“You are normal again!” Hermione squealed which caused Harry to look at his hands in a shock.
“Hey! I am; how did that happen?” Harry asked confused and Hermione shrugged,
“I don’t know but I’m going to look it up in the library later, maybe there’s something that will help us.” Hermione noted thoughtfully then turned to Harry with a mischievous glint in her eyes. “But not right down, I believe we have some making up time to do.” Hermione noted and Harry grinned wickedly.
“That we do, that we do.” Harry agreed as he took Hermione’s giggling lips into his and leaned her back on the bed.
Both of them relaxed on top of the bed, half an hour later, they both were lying on top of the covers with their clothes still on, Hermione were resting her head on his chest while his hand ran though her hair.
“Are you going to tell Dumbledore what happened?” Hermione asked and felt Harry stiffen under her, she shifted lightly so that her head was resting on her hand while her elbow rested on the pillow and looked down at Harry. “Harry?” Hermione asked and Harry sighed.
“I don’t know if I can trust him.” Harry admitted and Hermione sighed as her other hand ran through his hair.
“Harry, it was nearly two years ago.” Hermione explained and Harry nodded.
“I know, but I gave him all those chances to tell me about the prophecy, he could have told me and Sirius wouldn’t have almost died in fifth year, you wouldn’t have almost died.” Harry finished in a whispered and Hermione looked at him with sympathy.
“Sweetie, you can’t prevent what happens, no one can. Things just happen, all we can do is follow the path that we’ve chosen, no matter how rough or hard it gets.” Hermione explained and Harry shook his head as he sat up.
“It…” Harry started as Hermione sat up next to Harry and looked at him.
“It’s what?” Hermione asked, nudging him on and Harry sighed.
“It’s just getting difficult, I mean, last year we knew who was after us now we don’t anymore, I’ve just never felt so helpless in my life.” Harry admitted. Hermione pulled him into a hug.
“Harry, everything will okay, I promise you.” Hermione whispered and Harry pulled away from him.
“Just don’t leave me.” Harry whispered.
“Never, I will always be by your side forever.” Hermione whispered back, “We both promised.” Hermione reminded him as she brought up her ring. Harry nodded as he pulled her back into a hug.
