A few months later they were in potions when Sirius suddenly got a bright idea.

"Madame Morano?"

"Yes?"

"What are some uses of a whale pancreas?"

"Why do you ask?"

"I heard that they were selling them in the black market in Knockturn Alley.  In fact, it's my own guess that the Ministry is using them to make muggle bombs that they will use to melt the glaciers at the North Pole." Sirius said conspringly.

"Oh no!  They'll kill Santa Claus!" Peter yelled.  Lily blanched, there's no way a fourteen year old could believe in Santa Claus.

"Awww, does ickle Petey still bewieve in Santa?" Sirius teased.  James hit him, and Lily gave him a dirty look.

"Peter, don't listen to Sirius, he's just in a bad mood." Lily said.  Peter didn't deserve to be disillusioned.

"Awww, Wily will make such a good mummy." Sirius cooed.  "Jamesy, when the baby due?"

"Would you shut up?" James asked.

"So...Madame Morano, what are the uses of a whale pancreas?" Lily questioned.

"Well, a whale pancreas is used for three potions, all of them are very powerful, dangerous potions.  The only one not used for dark purposes is the animagus potion.  They are also used for turning somebody into the living dead, and it is believed to be an ingredient in a potion that allows one to come back to life." Madame Morano said.

"Wow." Was the response from the six friends who knew about the whole whale pancreas/Trimble situation.  Nothing to mentionable happened until the Christmas holidays.  Lily and James were out for a stroll, after escaping Sirius's teasing in the library.  They had found out that there was another reason for whale pancreases that Morano had conveniently forgotten to tell them.  It could allow one to control another's mind.

"I'm going to be caught!  Those pesky little lovebirds are smarter than they look.  That....GIRL...seems to see right through me!  It's an uncanny feeling, it's like she KNOWS what I'm thinking."

"Well.  You're just going to have to get over it, aren't you?  We need those two, and it won't work once they're fully matured.  They will be too powerful."

"Surely not, milord."

"Yes, they will be.  They will surpass even my powers on their twenty-first birthdays."

"I will do my best, milord."

"Your best isn't good enough.  I demand perfection.  And here's a reminder of anything less than perfection.  CRUCIO!"

They heard a thud as a body hit the floor, and groans of pain.  James looked through the keyhole.  All he saw was a man facing the fireplace.  "Haven't you ever heard eavesdroppers never prosper?" A voice asked from behind them. Lily and James were startled, causing them to fall backwards, looking into the face of Albus Dumbledore.
"Umm, well, I have heard that, but I'm not sure it's true." James said.
Dumbledore smile slightly, "That may be the case, but it would be for the best for you to mind your own business."
"Is Professor Trimble bad?" James asked.
"James, that is Professor Trimble's own secret, and none of your affair. Why don't you two run along now." Dumbledore commanded, but looked slightly worried.  On February fourteenth, James woke up to Peter shaking him.
"What's wrong, Peter?" James muttered.
"You need to get up. Lily's already up. She'll be wanting her Valentine's Day present!" Peter said.
"TODAY'S VALENTINE'S DAY?" James yelled.
"Uh, yeah."
"Oh, no! I didn't get Lily anything! I forgot!" James moaned.
"Oh, no, what to do?" James asked himself as he was getting dressed.  Lily would kill him.  He pulled wrote some notes quickly, and gave them to Peter to take to the owlery, and Peter was also supposed to get Sirius and Remus.  James put on his invisibility cloak and went to Lily's room.  When he came back, Sirius and Remus were waiting for him.

"Oh, James is going to be in the ddddoooggghhhoouusseee." Sirius said.

"No I'm not, if I can help it." James said.  "Here's what we're going to do.  I've ordered some roses for her and some chocolates.  I'm going to sing a song to her to distract her.  Hopefully she'll think it's sweet.  The flowers and chocolate probably won't get here until after class starts, but oh well.  Now, I've got one of her little muggle music things, and a music player.  You are going to construct a stage for me to sing on while I learn the song and get ready."

"Okay, we're on it, James.  Never fear, the marauders are here." Peter said.  James thanked them as they left.

Lily was just returning from her trip back up to her room when she discovered she had forgotten her homework on her nightstand when she saw James standing on a makeshift stage.  Lily's eyes became as big as saucers as she walked slowly to a couch.

"And I dedicate this song to my girlfriend, Lily Evans." James was saying.  Lily thought she would pass out.  Serenity came in and sat down by Lily with a huge grin on her face."Serry, don't say a word." Lily moaned, burying her face in her hands.

The Gryffindor common room was smirking evilly.  James wasn't too happy to see almost everybody out there.  Oh well, it was this or be lynched by Lily.  He cleared his throat then started singing confidently.

Sometimes in the morning, my coffe gets ice cold.

"You don't drink coffee, James." Sirius said.

I burn up three cigarettes before I get my first smoke.

"If you smoke, Lily'll probably dump you." Peter  said.

I miss my exit on the way to work every now and then.  I blame it on the traffic when they ask where I've been.

"You're too young to drive, and you're not a muggle." Remus pointed out.

"Who the hell is singing this song?  ME!  So let me sing!" James growled.

In a crowded elevator, I'll start humming that old song.  There's no was of knowin' when the urge will come along.

Nobody said anything.  The boys were wondering how fast they could learn a song to sing with their girlfriends, because Lily looked fascinated.  In fact, all the girls did.  Little did they know, they were more fascinated with his tight, blue jean and white t-shirt attire.

I've been stuck in some meeting, I look down at my legal pad, I see hearts and flowers and butterflies and I can't help but laugh. James crooned. Every girl in the common room sighed. Lily was trying really hard not to laugh. He was just too cute up there.
It's just a dirt road on a summery night, that's just a backseat and some musky dime wine. That's just auburn hair brushing across my cheek,
and those kiss me green eyes smiling back at me. That's just my mind jumping fences one again. But I'll be fine once I get it roped back in. I know sometimes I may act a little crazy, but that's just Lily.

A first year fell out of her chair in besottedness. Lily blushed a deep red that made the marauders laugh uncontrollable. James scowled for silence.
Sometimes in the evening I hear bare feet in the hall, and I see her slender silhouette dance across the wall. I catch the scent of jasmine, perfume in the wind, I know it's her sweet memory coming back again.
It's just a dirt road on a summery night, that's just a backseat and some musky dime wine. That's just auburn hair brushing across my cheek, and those kiss me green eyes smiling back at me. That's just my mind jumping fences one again. But I'll be fine once I get it roped back in. I know sometimes I may act a little crazy, but that's just Lily.
In a white cotton dress, that's just a wildfire I ain't put out yet, that's just auburn hair brushing against my cheek, and those kiss me green eyes smiling back at me. That's just my mind jumpin' fences once again, but I'll be fine, once I get it roped back in, I know sometime I may act a little crazy, but that's just Lily.

James finally got up the courage to look at Lily.  SHE WAS LAUGHING!  He had the feeling it was at him, not with him.

"Didn't you like my song, Lily?" James asked.

"I l-l-loved it!" She laughed.

"Then why are you laughing?"

"It's you!  Singing a muggle song!  In ripped blue jeans!  I can't help it!" Lily said.

"Well, I'm glad you found me amusing." James said haughtily.

"Oh, get off your high horse.  It was really sweet for you to sing me a song, James.  Here's what I got you.  But maybe you would rather I sing you a song." Lily laughed.

"How about both?"

"Sure, why not?  I get to pick the song though." Lily said.  James was worried.

Lily ran up to her room, and came back down with the perfect 8-track

Lily hopped up on the stage and started singing in a loud voice, completely unloverlike. "He pushed me 'round, now I'm drawin' the line. He lived his life, now I'm gonna go live mine. I'm sick of wastin' my time. Well now I've been good for way t oo long, found my red dress, and I'm gonna throw it on. Bout to get too far gone. Praise the Lord and pss the ammunition. Need a little bit more of my twelve-ounce nutrition. One more helpin' of what I've been havin'. I'm takin' my turn on the sin wagon. On a mission to make something happen, feel like Delilah lookin' for Samson. Do a little mattress dancin', that's right, I said mattress dancin'. Prais eth elord and pass the ammunition. Need a little bit more of what I"ve been missin'. I don't know hwere I'll be crashin', but I'm arrivin' on a sin wagon. When it's my turn to march up to glory, I'm gonna have one hell of a story. That's if he forgives me, oh Lord, please forgive me. Praise the lord and pass the ammunition. Need a little bit more of that sweet salvation. They may take me with my feet draggin', But I'll fly away, on a sin wagon. I'll fly away on a sin wagon.
James fell of the couch he was sitting on. What kind of Valentine's Day song was that? Lily smiled sweetly at those gaping in the room as she walked off the stage.  She sat down on the seat James had just fallen out of.  "So, sweety, did you like my song?"

"I thought these songs were supposed to declare love." James said, thorougly put out.

"Yours didn't.  It conveyed obsession.  So, mine conveyed independence and general freedom."

"Lily, it's Valentine's Day!" James screeched.

"Do you want me to push that first year off the stage and sing How Do I Live?" Lily asked sarcastically.

"Sure, I'll help." James said, getting up.

"I'm not singing another song!  Just open the darn present, Potter, or I'm taking it back!" Lily said, throwing the box at him.  James opened it up and ran at Lily to envelope her in a bear hug.

"I take it you like it?"

"Oh yes, it's great!" James said.  She had given him a Britain Lions quidditch alarm clock.

.The girls of Hogwarts were shooting Lily triumphant glances when the owl post came.  There wasn't an owl for Lily.  She seemed unaffected.  James wanted to fall throught he floor.  If she would have gotten other owls, maybe she wouldn't have noticed that there wasn't one for him.  Finally he couldn't take his own guilt anymore and blurted, "I'm so sorry Lily."

"For what, James?" Lily asked.

"I forgot about Valentine's Day.  I ordered some stuff for you, but it probably won't get here for another half hour or so.  I sang that song to you because I couldn't think of anything else."

"James, it's okay.  I loved your song, and I wouldn't have known you forgot if you hadn't told  me.  Your song, was uh, present enough." Lily said, trying not to laugh again.

James sighed with relief, then realized he had really put his foot in his mouth.  "Well, aren't you glad I was honest?" He asked hopefully.

"Yes, James.  Honesty is alway the best policy." Lily smiled.

That morning their first class was the now dreaded defense against the dark arts.  Trimble seemed to have it in for James and Lily.  One little mess up and points were deducted or detention was given.  James got detention more while Lily usually had points deducted.  So far the marauders had broken their own personal record for detentions.  James had 78, Sirius had 83, Remus had 57, and Peter had 45.  Lily, to her disgust had been given 7 detentions.  She had sweet talked her way out of 3, but was left with the four Trimble had given her.  During a lesson with grindylows James's snowy white owl swooped in along with a tawny owl. The owls fluttered over to Lily, dropped two boxes in her lap, nipped James for approval, and flew out. Lily opened the first box, and found a dozen white roses. She opened the second box to find a large heart-shaped box of chocolate hearts.
"Thank you James." Lily said softly.
"You're welcome Lily."
"I thank you for this truly revolting display of affection." Trimbled sneered. Lily looked at him. Really looked at him. Trimble backed away. He was trying to get out of the range of the eyes that could see right through him.
"I know your secret." Lily said in a calm voice. "All I need is proof. We'll both watch our back, you and I"
Trimble's eyes widened, "Miss Evans, ten points from Gryffindor."
"For what?"
"Threatening a teacher."
"Who? Me? I wasn't threatening. I was was merely telling James I know his secret. It's time for me to pay him back for a prank." Lily said innocently.
"Fine, ten points back to Gryffindor. Just because I can't prove anything." As soon as the class was over, Lily rushed out and into the hall.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHH!" She yelled.

"What is wrong with you?" Sirius asked.

"What do you think is wrong with me?  It's that stupid little wannabe deatheater, Trimble!  He has it in for me and James.  If I cough you would think I was using one of the Unforgivables!" Lily said tensely.

"Don't let him get to you guys, he's just an idiot." Serenity said.

After classes that day, Lily and James both had to work on a report for Dumbledore.  He had requested they each write a three scroll report about the history of Sinnients.  Gina came in, wanting to talk to James about something.

"Not now, Gina, I'm busy."

"But, this is important!"

"What's so important that it can't wait?"

"I need to borrow your invisibility cloak." Gina said.

"Not now.  I'm busy." James said.

"You're always too busy for your own sister!  You're twin sister!  Twins are supposed to have a special bond, but we don't!  You ignore me most of the time, like we're not even related!  You and Dad both.  Holing yourselves up in the library for hours to talk about something!  It's like you're the only child!" Gina stormed, and stomped off.  James sighed an ran a hand through his already messy hair.

"She doesn't know that I'm a Sinnient.  Dad said not to tell her." James said.  After dinner, Lily and James finally got their reports done.  Lily dragged her achy library body upstairs to her bed.  Gina and Adriana were waiting for her.

"Oh, this is just what I need at the moment." Lily muttered.

"Lily, you have taken my brother away from me."

"EXCUSE ME?"

"That's right, ever since he started going out with you, it's Lily this, Lily that, Lily says, Lily wants to, Lily doesn't like, Lily thinks.  We used to be really close.  Me, James, and Sirius have always been friends.  Old families, old blood."

"You ought to give your brother a break, Gina."

"Oh, why is that?" Gina snapped sarcastically.

"Because he's under a lot of pressure you don't know about." Lily answered quietly.

"He's free to tell me about it anytime."

"He can't tell you.  Very few people can know.  You would like it better not knowing anyhow, trust me."

"Oh, so you know his secret?" Gina asked angrily.

"Yes.  I have almost the same exact secret."

"Ohhhhhhh." Gina said suggestively.

"Gina, what is your problem?" Lily asked, looking at Gina the same way as she did Professor Trimble.

"Your problem isn't really James.  It's something else." Lily continued.

"Oh, so now you're a physicatrist."

Gina said, voice dripping with sarcasm.

"No.  Just tell me what's really wrong."

"Everything.  First you become part of their little group, and Sirius never pays attention to me now.  I used to be the girl he could hang out with too, but not since you came.  And my dad likes you better than he does me.  I bet he wishes you were his daughter." Gina said sorrowfully.

"No he doesn't Gina. You're the perfect daughter. You never get in trouble, but I on the other hand, am a holy terror. You know how mad my family gets at me." Lily said, trying to lighten the mood.
"No, no, they don't. They all love you so much. Even Petunia loves you. She's just scared of things that are different. She's protecting herself, and your mother's doing the same thing."
"Your family loves you too, Gina!" Lily said.
"I suppose, but they're not proud of me the way they are James. I know he's something special, the way Mum and Dad talk about him, but I don't know the whole story."
"You don't want to know the whole story. It's only a burden, Gina." Lily said.
"You know the whole thing?"
"Every last gory detail." Lily said.
"Tell me."
"No way.

"I'll tell you what, Gina.  I'll tell you on your twenty-first birthday.  At least, the part I can." Lily said.

"This isn't one of those 'I'll tell you when you're older' things is it?"

"Yes.  I won't tell you before then." Lily said.

"Fine.  Now, how about you help me with Sirius."

“No, Gina.  You have to do that on your own." Lily said.

"I think you should help me." Gina said.

"No." Lily said, backing out of the room.  Gina was following her.

"Come on, Lils."

"Don't call me Lils."

"Sorry, please help me Lily."

"No." "Yes." "No." Yes." "No." "Yes." They argued, now running around the common room.

"NO, GINA, I'M NOT GOING TO HELP YOU!" Lily finally shouted.  Gina stopped dead in her tracks.

"Geez, you and James are really spending too much time together.  Your personalities are rubbing off on eachother." Gina said, and retreated to her dorm.

A week later was the final quidditch match of the season.  Gryffindor already had the cup in the bag no matter the outcome of the game, and if they won this game they would be undefeated.  James gave a rather cheery peptalk, then went out with the team to meet the Slytherin captain.  They shook hands, but to observers it looked like an arm wrestling match.  To James, losing was not an option.  He had to beat Slytherin.  Especially since that little git Malfoy had bought his way onto the team for the second year in a row.  Things were going well for the Gryffindors, staying ahead by about 30 points the whole game.  Then disaster struck.  Malfoy caught the snitch.  The entire ground was waiting eagerly to see what James would do.  He was famous for several things, two being that he hated to lose and his outrageous temper.  Both kicked in at this moment.  When he hit the ground he started jumping up and down, yelling, swearing, and making up rather obscene comments about Malfoy, Malfoy's parents, his ancestors, friends, pets, and future pets.  Then James did something none of them would ever forget.  He picked up his broom that he cherished like the first born male child, and broke it over his knee.  Everybody stared at James in shock.  There was no way that had just happened.

"Mr. Potter!  You will cease this profanity at once!  And if you're going to throw a temper tantrum, do it somewhere wher nobody has to watch!" McGonagall shouted.  James was still muttering something nobody could hear, and they probably didn't want to.  Lily decided to just stay away from him until he cooled down.  He was rather scary when he was this mad.  Everybody crowded despondently into the locker room.

"James, I'm sorry I didn't catch the snitch.  I was too far away from it." Their seeker said.

"It's okay George, you did the best you could." James said with depression.  "You all did your best, I'm sure.  It just wasn't good enough today."

Lily had had enough of his moping.  She pushed James, fully clothed into one of the shower stalls on the boys side.  "Here, James.  Stay in here and try to drown yourself.  Maybe you'll feel better."

James obeyed meekly, but they all saw his silhouette slide down the wall, and sit on the floor, hunched in despair. That night, Lily came out of her dormitory to find the Marauders, minus James, playing exploding snap.

"Hi, where's James?" Lily asked.

"He's still in the locker room.  I think he's suicidal at the moment." Sirius said.

"Are you serious?" Lily asked, horrified.

"Of course I'm Sirius, you idiot." Sirius said with a smile.

"Don't call me an idiot.  Are you joking about James being suicidal though?"                     "I don't really know what he's feeling at the moment, to tell the truth.  I was the last one to leave the locker room, and he was still sitting in the showers with the water running." Sirius answered.

"How about you go and get him." Lily said.

"Umm, no.  He'll probably tear me in half." Sirius said.

"You can't just leave him in there!  He'll get sick." Lily said.

"Then you go get him." Sirius said.  "He won't yell at you.  Well, actually he might, but he'd punch me, he won't lay a violent hand on you."

"Fine.  I will." Lily said and marched out on operation KEEP JAMES FROM DROWNING HIMSELF.

Lily let herself into the the locker room and shouted, "JAMES?  ARE YOU IN HERE?"  She realized how dumb she sounded.  Of course he was in here, the water was still on.

"Yes.  Leave me alone." He said sullenly.

"You can't just spend the rest of your life in here."

"Yeah I can."

"Do you still have your clothes on?"

"Yes.  Why?"

"Good, I'm coming in." Lily said, and threw back the shower curtain.  James was still sitting in the same position, now sodden from three hours of running water.  She sat down beside him, getting soaked herself.

"Why don't you leave me alone?" He asked sullenly.

"Why don't you quit pouting?"

"I'm not pouting.  I'm merely replaying each and every mortifying moment of that game over and over in my head."

"It's too late to do anything about it now, James.  We lost.  You'll just have to get over it.  We still won the cup."

"But we would've been undefeated."

"James, don't dwell upon the past.  You can't change it." Lily said wisely, and turned off the spray of water.

"Hey, I was taking a shower."

"You were not!  A, you're fully clothed, B, you've been in here for THREE hours.  I think you're clean enough.  Come on, it's time to get out of here, quit feeling sorry for yourself."

Lily went into the girls locker room, and used the drying spell to dry off while James was changing.  She waited for him outside, and when he met her he said, "Lily, thanks for getting me.  I needed cheering up, and I would've probably sat in there all night feeling sorry for myself."

"No problem.  I thought you would probably still be here tomorrow if somebody didn't come and get you.  Sirius was being a scared-cat, so I had to."  The rest of the year flew by, so soon, school was almost out, and one day the Marauders couldn't find James and Lily.  They looked all over, for hours.  After one day, the teachers started searching for them too.  Sirius, Remus, and Peter decided to take matter in their own hands, and found the marauder's map in James's nightstand.  Their dots were still in the same place as the day before, labeling them in the transfiguration classroom, even though nobody was there.

Meanwhile, in Dumbledore's office...

"You know Minerva, Carl hasn't been anyplace outside of his classes lately, and he dismisses them early."

"What are you saying Albus?"

"I'm saying I believe I made a bad decision.  I don't think Carl came back to our side at all.  I think he needed the Sinnients."

"Do you know where they might be?"

"Yes, they just might be in the hidden Gryffindor room."

"WHAT?" McGonagall shrieked.

"Each of the four founders made a secret room, accessible only by their heirs.  It can be entered only when the heir or their intended mate is present. I would say the kidnapper know that James is the heir, so that was the logical place."

"Will we be able to get in?"

"Yes, if they're in there, we can get in as long as they haven't locked it with their own hand."   Dumbledore and McGonagall rushed to the transfiguration room.  Dumbledore pried the loosened chalkboard away from the wall to reveal a door.  Dumbledore tried the knob, but it didn't turn.  "Alohamora."  The door swung open to reveal James and Lily tied to chairs, and a certain Carl Trimble pointing his wand at them.

"Stupefy." Trimble said at McGonagall, then moved towards Dumbledore.  They were engaged in a wizard's duel, battling it out.  James and Lily were trying to get themselves untied, working on each other's bonds.  James and Lily finally worked out of their bonds as Dumbledore stunned Trimble, making him fall to the floor.

"Children, go to my office, the password's Milk Dud.  Wait for me, I have some things to take care of, then I'll be right there."

"Yes sir." They both answered, and hurried out.

Miles away, a man in his study exclaimed, "Blast it!  My incompetent followers have bungled the job once again.  These children will be my downfall yet!  I'm too busy right now to worry about them.  I'll take care of them when they're older."

After a couple of hours, Dumbledore met them in his office with James's dad.

"We found out Carl was planning on giving you a potion that would allow Lord Voldemort to control your minds.  Lily, James, we didn't realize how much danger you two were in until now.  We have worked out some precautionary measures.  We are going to contact every Minister, and if he told anybody about your Sinniency, we will perform a complex memory charm on them.  We will tell nobody else about you being Sinnients, and hopefully we can put it aside until you turn twenty-one.  We're going to remove all your Sinnients abilities until you reach that age for your own safety."

"Umm, okay." James said.

"What was that room we were in?" Lily asked.

"That was the hidden room of Gryffindor.  James your father can explain that to you if he so chooses.  Now both of you take this potion and it will suspend your powers for six and a half years.  Good, now go up to your dorms, and you are excused from classes tomorrow."  Lily and James both dragged themselves through the portrait hole to become the object of attention of the Gryffindors.  Neither answered questions, but went straight to bed.  The next morning when Lily woke up, nobody was in her dorm.  She found breakfast setting on a tray beside her bed, so she ate and got ready in some old muggle clothes which she preferred to wizard's robes.  Then she went downstairs to find the common room deserted.  Lily went back up to her room to get a chess set, then went to see James. Lily and James played wizard's chess all day, for lack of anything else better to do.  That evening, when the boys came rushing up to their dorm, they almost had a heart attack when they saw Lily and James playing chess.

"You guys were kidnapped and you're playing chess?" Peter yelled.

"Shut up Peter, it takes all of my concentration to beat Lily."

Sirius came over and picked up the chess board.  "The game can wait.  Tell us what happened and why Dumbledore teaches defense against the dark arts, not Trimble."

"He tried to kidnap us." James said.

"Why?"

"Just because."

"Because why?"

"Misters Black, Pettigrew, and Lupin, do NOT bother Miss Evans or Mr. Potter about their misadventure." McGonagall said sharply.

"Yes'm." Sirius answered dutifully.

"And Miss Evans?"

"Yes?"

"I think now would be an appropriate time for you to exit the boys dormitory."  A week later, the six friends were on the Hogwart's Express, desitination King's Cross Station.  Lily was not looking forwart to going home to her physcopathic mother and sister, who at their current track record, wouldn't be there to pick her up.

Meanwhile at the Great Hall in Hogwarts....

"Ladies and Gentleman, we have a severe problem.  The lives of our Sinnients were endangered this year because of the knowledge a teacher had about them.  It isn't safe for others to know about them." Dumbledore said.

"Well, we're the only ones who know."

"Are you?  Do you presume to tell me that none of you told your families?"

"Well, I told MY family."

"Me too."

"I also."

"Well, I propose to perform a memory spell on those outside of the Ministers who know.  I will not tell any other teachers.  The teachers who already know haven't done anything this year, so I presume they are reliable."

"Very good Albus.  I agree with you."  The Chinese Minister said loudly.  Several others chorused their agreement.

"Isn't it the right of the people to know about our Sinnients?" The Polish Minister questioned.

"Isn't it the right of Lily and James to lead a safe, and relatively normal life?" Anthony Potter questioned.

"You're prejudiced, one's your son."

"If it was your son, and a girl you wish was your daughter, who was endangered, wouldn't you feel the same?  Lily and James deserve to have a childhood.  If everybody knows, like you wish, their childhood will be sacrificed."

"That's the price they'll have to pay for greatness." The Polish Minister said.

"They didn't ask for this!  They should have the right to grow up as normally as possible, more so than others!" Anthony Potter said.

"Really?" The Polish Minister asked sardonically.

"He's right you know.  They will grow up alarmingly fast.  James and Lily deserve to have a normal childhood, because a great pressure will be placed upon them once they reach maturity.  The need a normal childhood.  They'll be useless without it." Dumbledore said.

"How so?"

"They will become bitter and cynical because of the pressures placed on them.  They will shun the very magic that makes them all powerful.  We will turn them away from us, and all goodness.  Pushing them too far too soon pushes them to the darkness."

"It will be example of the rich scorning money.  The money they yearned for will bring despair on them.  They discover it is not all cracked up to be.  The famous longing for privacy and solitude.  The dumb seeking intelligence, but once received, it is burden." The Chinese Minister said wisely.

"Prove it."

"Very well, I thought this might happen, so I will use this object, called a dreamcaster.  It will project the future if a certain event happens now.  There is only three left in the universe." Dumbledore said, and muttered something into the dreamcaster.  A blurry image appeared on the wall, then sharpened.

"This will be the lives of Lily and James if the magic and fame of a Sinnient is forced upon them at such a young age."

"You b i t c h!  I thought I told you to stay home!" James shouted.

"Who the hell do you think you are?  You act like you're the Dark Lord!" Lily shrieked and slapped James.  James slapped her back, and everybody saw the glint of platinum on their left hands.

Everybody in the hall gasped.

"I am much more powerful than Voldemort.  It is he who follows me.  You seem to be the only one ignoring that small fact."

"M-M-Mrs. Lily Potter?  Master H-Harry is wailing." A house-elf said nervously.

"You're the house elf, you take care of him." Lily said rudely.

"Y-Yes'm." The house elf said, and skittered away.

"That little brat never shuts up." James said.

"I know.  It was your idea to have a child though." Lily said.

"I regret it often, but at least I have my heir now." James said.

The wall was blank, and everybody sighed with relief that it was over.  It was not a pretty picture that was presented.  Another image was now blurring onto the wall, and everybody tensed, ready for the worst.  Now the scene was set on a street, deserted except for Lily, James, and Dumbledore.
"Lily, James." Dumbledore acknowledged.
Lily and James ignored him and kept walking. He followed.
"You two can't ignore me. You will be caught one day. I will take you in now if you don't at least agree to talk to me."
"You and what army? The mers, vampires, dementors, giants, fairies, trolls, and all of Voldemort's followers, Voldemort himself are all on our side. We can take out any band of aurors you send our way." James sneered. Dumbledore pulled out his wand, immediately shouting "Stupefy", but the spell rebounded off James. James then raised his right hand, sending out gold and red sparks. They all saw the fear in the headmaster's eyes, but his wand was merely jerked out of his hand.
"We'll talk." James said, and followed the defenseless Dumbledore into an old building.  Dumbledore saw there wasn't the warmth in their eyes as they had in Hogwarts before their Sinniency was announced.  "James, Lily, I am so sorry.  I tried to warn them about what would happen if it was announced."

Both parties knew what he was talking about.

"Yeah, we weren't children anymore.  Nobody loved us like we were kids." Lily said bitterly.

"Our best friends deserted us.  Everybody either tried to be our friends because we were famous or avoided us altogether.  Some life.  The only people we have is each other after our parents were killed." James said with obvious cynicism.

"And even that isn't what was meant to be." Dumbledore said quietly.  James raised and eyebrow, so Dumbledore continued.  "You two were meant to be the greatest love match in history.  Two people who loved each other unconditionally, with no barriers.  I can see all you two have is lust and a tolerant respect.  Not even a real friendship.  You are the only people each can talk to.  You don't even love your son.  The Sinniency has robbed you of your ability to love.  All you can do is hate and be tolerant of each other.  Both of you blame us for what has become of you, I know."

"It is your fault.  You let them announce it.  We didn't get a childhood." James said.

"Yes, and we are all paying the price for it now.  You're destroying the world, one person at a time, just as we destroyed you.  You are truly getting your revenge.  Please, you two.  Forgive, and if you can't find it in your hearts to forgive, move on.  Quit trying to destroy us as we all destroyed you.  Let us live."

"No." James said, thinking of what he could've had.  His last happy year, his fourth.  When he and Lily loved eachother, and they had many friends. "You destroyed us.  We will destroy you."

"As you can see, the effects of their Sinniency will be devastating if we release the information." Dumbledore said, still shaken at the picture presented.

"What happens if we don't release it?" The Polish Minister asked.

"I will show you only part.  It is never good to know all of the future."  Another imaged blurred, then sharpened upon the wall.  Lily and James were dancing and twirling on the dance floor, ignoring the rules of society, without an inch between them.  James whispered something in Lily's ear, causing her bell-like laughter to sound throughout the ballroom.  The dance came to an end, and Lily started dancing with a boy who looked exactly like James, except for a scar and green eyes.  When that dance was over everybody turned towards James.  He raised his right hand, sending gold and red sparks, making banners fall and and small fireworks to explode.

The Ministers once again gasped, they all recognized this ball.

What was obviously after the ball, indicated by James's loosened tie, Dumbledore was chatting with them over some coffee in a kitchen.

"Yes, the ball went very well, and I would like to congratulate you James." Dumbledore said with a merry smile.

"Thank you again, Albus." James returned, pulling Lily into his lap.

"I'll leave you two lovebirds alone, and I wish to say again how proud I am.  A powerful witch and wizard such as yourself.  You have no idea how honored I am to be able to say I was your headmaster.  Every one of us owes the two of you a great debt, one we can never repay to the full extent."

"We owe the world a debt too.  It allowed us to live a life full of love and laughter and joy." James said, hugging his wife close to him, thankful for all he had.

"I definitely think we need keep secret of Sinnients." The Chinese Minister said boldly.

"Me too." Everybody chorused.

"Good, I'm glad you see what I do." Dumbledore said, with a small, relieved smile.

"Only a fool wouldn't.  We would be signing our own death warrant if we released this information, according to the dreamcaster." The Russian Minister said, slapping his hands for emphasis.

"Then I believe this meeting can be adjourned, Anthony, I need to talk to you.  Have a safe apparation home everybody."  "Anthony, Lily and James are at a point in their lives they need to begin a partial separation.  They need the separation the summer provides them, and they will need a longer one during their seventh year.  It is imperative for their powers to develop independence, and not feed of the other's.  A couple months away from each other will insure that, as well as only letting them see each other for a few hours a day." Dumbledore said.

"They're not going to like that." Anthony said.

"I know.  That's why I recommend you put James in some activities Lily's not in."

"Good, okay, I will.  But they can still see each other every day?"

"This summer, no.  They need at least one full month apart.  But the rest of the time it's fine for them to be together."

"Will do.  See you Albus." Anthony said, and walked to the apparation point.  Anthony rushed through platforms 9 3/4 just as the Hogwart's Express was pulling up. He stood next to Lily's dad and saw the six friends crawling out of the train and onto the platform.  Lily and Serenity, the two that had muggle utilities pulled out ink pens and wrote their phone numbers on their friends' hands, giving them hugs.  After Lily and Serenity got done hugging everybody, they started dispersing through the crowd.  Lily walked over to her dad and said in a rather biting voice, "Dear old Mum couldn't trouble herself to pick up the unwanted daughter once again, eh?
