In the knick of time

Chapter One

The shadows of a ragged looking man hunched over sitting in his blood red arm chair danced dangerously against the nearby wall of the pitch black room. Every once in a while, the mysterious figure would life his crystal goblet and sip the wine lazily. Evil glaring snake statues adorned the fire place mantle. Many seconds passed until one of the snake’s eyes glowed a bright red, pulling the man from his unknown thoughts.

The bright light dimmed quickly and the silence that filled the room was replaced with a think, powerful, booming voice. A head appeared within the fiery pit, a black hood covering the new comer’s eyes. The only visible feature was his mouth. His lips were thin and cracked. They were a color of a sickly, pale purple. A snarl erupted from those lips and the man in the chair leaned forward in anticipation.

“Yes my master?”

The hooded figure spoke slow causing chills to rush through his minion, “Leader of my people; my most trusted death eater, what is the status on Potter?”

Angrily clutching his goblet, Draco Malfoy threw it aside in agitation at the mention of his long time enemy, “He’s made no move. He’s smart and shows no weakness for us to pull the wool over his eyes figuratively speaking,” Draco lowered his head in failure, “I’m sorry Dark Lord, I’ve failed you.”

“I have a way for you to redeem yourself; a plan that will make Potter vulnerable.”

His spirits rose. Ever since Harry Potter, the Boy-who-lived, sent his father to Azkaban for being a death eater, Draco was out for blood. His father was all that he had and he was ripped viciously away from him by the good for nothing slime ball. Harry will die soon.

“Sir, I would do anything to bring down Potter,” Draco bowed at the waist, “I’m at your command.”

“Good, I expected as much. I have discovered a devise that will allow you to travel through time. You will go back to your seventh year of Hogwarts and seek out your younger self. Explain to him you mission. You will brew a permanent love potion and feed it to Potter’s little mudblood. Turn her against Harry.”

“Lord Voldemort, what does Granger have to do with anything? How will my making her fall in “love” with me help us get the prat?” Draco interjected.

“She is his weakness. Potter’s love for the creature is what is driving me to hide in the darkness when I should be wreaking havoc and chaos ruling what is mine! Stopping the two from ever falling in love…” Voldemort cringed at the word, “the power he has will be no more.” The dark lord’s evil crackling ricocheted off the walls and into Draco’s ears, he soon joined in. Finally, he will get his revenge.
