The REAL ending; The Epilogue

Sry for the long wait! Writers block AND I was terribly busy with school starting but oh well, HERE YOU GO! FINAL CHAPTER! REVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

…………………………………………………………….

“Ginny, I'm sorry-,” began Harry for the umpteenth time as he stared down at the youngest Weasley, who had signs of tears welling up in her eyes.

“But how? Why? I thought-,” Ginny said, voice cracking as she forced herself to not cry. She was wringing her hands, bouncing on her feet, all too eager to get away before she broke down completely, but she had lost the ability to move.

“I know, I thought too,” interrupted Harry, looking pityingly at Ginny. Her red tomato hair was blowing in the wind around her, brushing her face occasionally, her skin glowing with help from the rays from the setting sun, and her hazel eyes were glowing ever so brightly, glistening with tears. Yes, she looked beautiful, but as Harry looked into her eyes, he no longer felt a swooping in his stomach, no longer felt the monster…as a matter of fact; he didn't feel anything as he looked down at her. He knew that he felt nothing for her anymore. Being this close and not feeling any sensation made it final, proved what he had been feeling inside for the past weeks. “But I've changed since you last saw me. Maybe this is for the best-,”

“How can this be for the best if we are not together?” asked Ginny quietly, wiping her eyes. “I thought you loved me.” Harry felt those words stab his heart. Her voice was full of sorrow, sadness, and it hurt him to hear her be this sad. He felt terrible about hurting Ginny, but he would not lead her on, he couldn't and wouldn't. Harry took a steadying breath. He was worried. Like Ron said, he never broke up with someone, and at Dumbledore's funeral, he really hadn't broken up with Ginny. He had admitted that he still liked her, explained that he couldn't see her because of the Horocrux hunt. But now, it was time for him to end things. He had to do it.

“I'm sorry, but I don't think I ever was in love with you…” he admitted quietly, bracing himself for the tears. Ginny's eyes immediately dropped to look down at her feet, her body shaking.

“But I was in love with you.” Ginny looked up, tears falling down her cheeks. “Ever since I met you I've loved you! Since I was 10 I loved you! I waited for you for so long! On and off, on and off! I've always dreamed of being with you, of you loving me back. And it happened! Didn't you enjoy it? I know I did. What happened? Why is this happening? What's changed between us?”

“You didn't really know me until 6th year Ginny! How can you love someone that you barely know? We barely know each other right now! I,” Harry ran a hand through his hair. “I'm rubbish when it comes to this type of stuff. So I'll come out and say it. Just please…will you be alright with this?” Ginny shook her head violently, as if trying to rid herself of a pesky fly, the tears coming faster and in more abundance by the second. Harry shifted uneasily as he saw the tears she was crying over him.

“No I won't be okay. But if you feel like it is what you have to do,” Ginny took a deep breath and stood up tall. “Say it. Say it now so I don't have to wait any longer.”

“I'm so sorry, but this isn't working out. I think…”

“Stop beating around the bush! Say you break up with me!” said Ginny shrilly. “Just say it!” Harry looked out over the lake, avoiding Ginny's eye.

“It's over…I can't do this anymore…I'm so sorry.” Harry bowed his head. “I know how much this must hurt you-,”

“No you don't,” said Ginny, shaking her head. “But its okay…really it i-is,” her breathing was becoming faster and shallower. Harry looked at her, her hair now hanging lank beside her defeated face.

“Ginny,” began Harry, guilt bubbling inside him. Ron's going to kill me.

“No, I get it. This isn't working for you. And…I-I know why... And I understand. I'm just not her,” Ginny looked away from Harry's questioning stare. “I've never completed you have I? Just a distraction or something. I doubt you ever really felt something strong for me. You never felt the same way about me that I felt about you…I let my feelings run amok. I'm sorry.” Ginny took a few steps backwards.

“Ginny, wait,” pleaded Harry, reaching out. Ginny shook her head.

“I'm okay with it Harry.”

“You don't sound like you are.”

“Well I am!” stated Ginny defiantly. She took another deep breath. “I'm not going to yell at you, because I know this isn't your fault. You can't choose who you love. And if you don't love me anymore-or never did….And no matter how much it hurts for me to accept it, I must. Lately, I've just been thinking about my feelings, assuming they were reciprocal. I mean, the way you kissed me back in June…I thought you did l-……..” Ginny broke off, unable to go on.

“I'm sorry if I lead you on in any way, I really am.”

“You didn't.”

“I'm never going to forget what we had. It was my first real relationship. I was really happy with you, but, I just don't feel the same way as I did-,”

“It wasn't meant to be, was it?” asked Ginny quietly. Harry shook his head.

“I guess not. But I still want to talk to you. You're an amazing girl Ginny.” Ginny closed her eyes at this comment. Harry watched her, waiting to see if she was about to explode, crying as if her cheeks were Niagara Falls. “I still want to be your friend. I don't want to loose you.”

“Friends…yeah.” Ginny wiped her eyes again. Harry stepped forward and enveloped her in a hug. He felt Ginny holding onto him tightly, sobbing quietly into his shirt. “Thanks for giving me a chance Harry.” Ginny let go sadly and took a few steps back again. “I'm going to go rest…I need some time to think.” Ginny turned on her heel.

“Ginny!” Ginny spun around, a glimmer of hope on her face.

“Thanks for understanding.” Ginny's slight smile faltered instantly.

“No problem,” she muttered, and with that she turned around and walked back into the castle. Harry walked back towards the edge of the lake and cupped his face in his hands, guilt filling his insides. He felt terrible. Absolutely terrible. Breaking up with a girl was worse then he had thought. Much worse…Harry sat there for a moment, mulling things over in his head, when suddenly, someone called his name.

“Harry?” called Hermione. Her voice rang over the grounds, and Harry felt his heart soar as he heard her call his name. He looked up out of his hands and saw Hermione standing a bit away, looking at him. “There you are!” she exclaimed. She bit her lip. “I've wanted to talk to you.” Harry stood up and looked at Hermione, feeling his stomach doing flips. Her hair was blowing slightly in the wind, the warm colors from the sunset making her glow, and every second she stood there, her smile got wider.

“About what Hermione?” asked Harry, trying to avoid her eyes. Somehow, despite Harry's attempts, they caught eye contact, brown eyes locked emerald, and in a second Hermione had let out a shriek of joy, running at Harry. She threw her arms around him, squeezing his tighter than she had ever squeezed him before. Harry lifted her off her feet unknowingly and spun her, holding onto her just as tight, happiness rushing through his veins. Her hair was in his face, the smell of coconuts from her shampoo filling his senses, making him not able to think straight.

“You did it!” she squealed. “You did it Harry!” Harry set her down so her feet touched land, but didn't let go. They swayed lightly on the spot, clinging onto each other. Harry felt content ness fill him up. He couldn't remember feeling so complete, so happy…

His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a sob. He let go of Hermione slightly so he could look into her face. He saw a few lone tears clinging to her eyelashes.

“What's wrong Hermione?” he asked soothingly. Hermione let go of Harry with one arm, and wiped her tears. The other one was still wrapped around Harry's neck, half immersed in his hair. She looked at her hand with a weird expression, and to Harry's surprise, she didn't move it.

“I don't know…I was just remembering….I thought you died.” Hermione hung her head. “That was the worst moment of my life. The absolute worst. I don't know what I would have done if you had died.”

“Well you don't have to think about it,” said Harry, unwinding one of his arms from Hermione's waist to wipe her tears. “I'm here and I'm not planning on leaving anytime soon. I promise.” Hermione nodded.

“I know I'm just being silly.”

“No you aren't,” objected Harry, lowering his hand from her cheek, letting it wrap around her waist once more. “I felt the same way every time I thought I lost you…it's the worst.”

“Yeah…I'm so proud of you,” said Hermione, gazing up into Harry's eyes. Harry shifted uncomfortably under her gaze, and pulled his arms away from her.

“I really didn't-,”

“Harry, don't even start-,”

“But I didn't! I mean, I pictured it being this battle of dark magic, and all I did was disarm him.”

“You were smarter than him. You figured everything out on your own. I or Ron didn't help you with anything. That was all you.” Harry turned his head and looked out over the lake, the sky getting darker, fading to a midnight blue. “And the reason it wasn't a battle of dark magic was because you are too noble to use it. He used a Killing Curse, you didn't. You are so much wiser than him. You overlooked every detail he forgot, everything the shunt aside as unimportant. You give yourself way too little credit.” Hermione placed her hand on Harry's shoulder, making his stomach lurch. “If it wasn't for your teaching, we would never have been able to fight the way we did. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have been brave enough to set through those doors. It if wasn't for you, Ron wouldn't have had the logic to think under those circumstances. You taught us so much Harry.” Harry looked down at her out of the corner of his eye, seeing her smiling widely and proudly at him. “Give yourself the credit you deserve. You did brilliant Harry…Dumbledore would have been so proud…” They stood like that for a moment, staring out over the lake. There was a silence until…

“So, you and Ginny broke up?” asked Hermione conversationally. Harry winced.

“How did you know that?” Hermione bit her lip.

“I uh…kind of heard Ginny crying as she walked into the Great Hall. She sounded really upset, and all I knew was that she had gone to talk to you.”

“How did you know that?”

“Ginny told me that she was going to meet you. She seemed really excited. I knew something went wrong the moment I saw her…poor thing.” Hermione looked urgently at Harry. “You were nice to her, weren't you?”

“Yes, Hermione, I was,” said Harry. “I promise.” Hermione nodded.

“Good.” She looked over the lake once more, her cheeks looking rather flushed. “So…you are really over?”

“Yeah.”

“Not going to try it again?” asked Hermione, her voice sounding a bit higher then it usually sounded. Harry shook his head.

“I don't think so. No.”

“You feel nothing for her?” asked Hermione, her voice sounding monotone as she said this. “Nothing?”

“Nothing,” repeated Harry. “Nothing at all. I mean, I see her as a friend, but nothing more than that.” Hermione nodded once again.

“Good,” she muttered.

“What?” asked Harry, unable to decipher what Hermione had just said.

“Nothing,” replied Hermione quickly, her cheeks even more flushed than they had been before.

“No, what was it?”

“Nothing,” stressed Hermione, biting her lip again.

“Why are you so nervous?” asked Harry. Hermione turned to face Harry.

“I'm not nervous!” she stated defiantly. “What makes you think that?” Harry chuckled.

“Hermione, you have been my best friend since we were eleven. You bite your lip when you are nervous, or hiding something.”

“No I don't!” stated Hermione firmly. She bit her lip.

“See?” said Harry, pointing at her. Hermione stopped instantly and glared at Harry.

“I'm fine,” she stated, looking back out at the lake, a far away daze worthy of Luna Lovegood on her face. Harry knew otherwise. She looked oddly red, her face confused, and she kept bouncing on her feet, looking around. But he decided to not push it. Instead, he asked her the one question that he had been waiting to ask since he had defeated Voldermort mere hours ago.

“So, what happened with you and Ron? I saw him take you away to the Greenhouses a few hours ago. Er,” Harry paused, dreading the answer. “What did he want?” Hermione closed her eyes, as if the memory was painful to recall.

“He told me that he loved me…he asked me out.” Harry's stomach dropped and he felt sadness sweep over him. His chance was over…

“R-really?” croaked Harry, his voice sounding much different then it had before.

“Yeah,” said Hermione, not noticing Harry's voice change.

“Well, er….what did you say?” asked Harry, feeling his heart race. Hermione's eyes fluttered open and she turned to look at Harry. “Congratulations,” said Harry, feeling like she had just answered the question in her own way, with that look. How could she not say yes? Of course she said yes!

“Congratulations for what?” asked Hermione, looking at Harry straight on.

“You and Ron. Congratulations.” Harry gave her a fake smile. “Brilliant. Really, you two together.” Hermione shook her head.

“Harry.”

“Yeah?”

“We aren't together.” Harry stared at her, his jaw falling open.

“What?”

“Me and Ron, we are not together.”

“But you said-,” Harry was staring flabbergasted at Hermione, not daring to believe her words.

“I said that Ron had asked me out. I never said that I said yes.”

“You kissed! You kissed him during the battle! You obviously like him! What are you playing at Hermione?” asked Harry bewildered, hope swelling inside his hest, wanting her to grab him, shake him and tell him he was wrong. Hermione shook her head again.

“He kissed me Harry-,”

“But you-,”

“I know I kissed him back. And it was one of the most meaningful kisses in my life, well, my first meaningful kiss in my life.” Harry winced at her words, the bubble of hope shrinking.

“Then why did you turn him down if you felt so much about the kiss? If it was so meaningful?” Harry sensed that he had stressed the last word rudely. Luckily, Hermione had either not noticed or ignored it, because she said nothing and her facial expression didn't change.

“That's the thing Harry. I felt nothing. That kiss told me everything that I needed to know.” Hermione took a deep breath. “You know how they say that when you kiss someone you love, you feel all lightheaded, you loose sense, and everything just evaporates and it's just you and them?” Harry nodded, wondering where she was going with this. “Well, I felt none of that when I- he kissed me. I went along at first. I had convinced myself that I did like him, for stupid reasons. And when he kissed me, I felt how much he loved me, but I couldn't give the passion back to him…it felt weird. Like I was kissing my brother. It felt awkward, embarrassing. I looked at him after the kiss, confused. I thought it would have been one of the best moments of my life. My first kiss. But it wasn't. It was everything I thought it wouldn't be.”

“Really?” asked Harry. “Wait! Your first kiss? I thought Krum-,”

“Oh heavens no,” laughed Hermione. “Where did you get that idea?”

“Ginny.” Hermione snorted. “So it's not true?” asked Harry. Hermione shook her head.

“Not at all.” An awkward silence filled between them, the tension so thick you could cut it with a knife.

“But then,” continued Hermione. “I realized that they boy I was kissing….well, he wasn't the boy I really wanted to kiss. And now, my excuses for not telling him how I feel have worn thin, gone to nothing.” She looked at Harry, a strange glint in her eye. Harry felt like the bubble of hope swelling inside his chest. He wanted her to say it, to say that he was the one she wanted to kiss. He needed her to tell him that.

“What excuses did you have?” asked Harry, stepping forward. Hermione gulped, still staring Harry head on.

“I-, I….”

“Hermione?” asked Harry, reaching forward and gripping her hand tightly, their fingers intertwining.

“Tell me I did the right thing!” blurted out Hermione, her voice cracking. “I may have just lost one of my best friends! Tell me I did the right thing! Please?”

“Hermione, you did,” said Harry softly. “You weren't happy. Sometimes you can't please everyone. Leading Ron on when you knew you didn't feel that way about him wouldn't have worked. You know that.”

“I know but…” Hermione took a deep breath.

“What about this bloke?” asked Harry, staring at their hands, feeling a tingling running up his arms. “How long have you liked him?” Hermione shrugged.

“I've liked him on and off since…probably 5th year. I really don't know.” Harry felt his confidence rising. Don't bet on it. It will hurt more if she doesn't feel that way about you! You're setting yourself up!

“And what were your excuses for not telling him you liked him?”

“I'm not his type! He went after the popular girls, the athletes, the beautiful ones!” Hermione looked down at her feet. “I was scared! Scared to fully give him my heart because there was a good chance that I'd loose him anytime soon!” Harry's heart was beating faster. He felt her grip on his hand tighten. “I couldn't handle the thought of being in a relationship with him, and then have him be gone the next day! It could happen. But I don't have to worry about it anymore. And I shouldn't have let it get in the way before! Life's too short to live safely!” Hermione was scolding herself, still looking down at her feet. “I should have just come out and told him, come out and told Ron that I didn't felt he same way. I shouldn't have lied to him; I shouldn't have lied to myself! And because of my stupidity, I could have lost my chance tonight!” Harry took a step closer.

“How would you have lost your chance tonight?” he asked quietly, taking her other hand. Their bodies were a mere foot away from each other now. Hermione was biting her lips again, her face scrunched up as if she was having an internal battle with herself.

“Because he almost died…” she whispered. “And he would have died without knowing…I would have had to live my life wondering `what if I had just told him'? That would have killed me.” Hermione looked up into Harry's brilliant green orbs. Harry felt a smile begin to tug at his lips. “But it's over…and he's safe now…and I don't' have to worry about loosing him, because I know there's nothing to take him away from me.”

“Have you ever thought that he wouldn't let anything take him away from you?” asked Harry, looking down at Hermione. She shook her head. “That he'd do whatever possible to stay with you?”

“No…I never thought that he could like me like that. I thought that we just had a platonic friendship”

“Maybe you were wrong,” said Harry. Hermione looked down at her hands, intertwined with Harry's a look of disbelief on her face.

“Maybe I was…” she whispered softly. “Was I Harry?”

“I'm not sure, I still don't know who the guy is,” teased Harry, his smile getting wider, spreading over his face, lighting up his eyes.

“Are you that daft Harry?”

“Maybe. Just tell me so I don't screw this up.” Hermione looked back at Harry.

“It's you Harry…it's always been about you. Don't you see? I've always put you first, always been there for you! You've been there for me! Don't you see what I've done for you? I sent my parents out of the country do I could go on the hunt with you, I helped you get every other girl besides me. I've always tried to make you happy. I've always done everything in my power to make sure that your needs were filled. It's you…” Hermione's voice faded away. Harry was grinning widely. He let go of Hermione's hands and cupped her face, taking the last step to reach Hermione. Her body was pushed up against him. He forced her to look his straight in the eyes.

“Are you still having doubts about him liking you back?” asked Harry, leaning forward slowly. Hermione was frozen, her lips parted.

“I-I-,” stuttered Hermione, not daring to believe what was happening.

“How about now?” whispered Harry, and he pressed his lips to Hermione's softly. He instantly felt fireworks going off in his stomach. His hands slid down her neck, down her arms, and landed on her waist, pulling her into him. He felt Hermione's hands grab his shirt, pulling her into him, and he felt her lips begin to move against him. Harry pulled her tighter, and passed his tongue over her lips, and in a second, Hermione had given his access, and their tongues were thrashing against each other. Hermione moaned into Harry's mouth, driving him wild. The kiss got more heated; Harry's hands ran up and down her waist, Hermione's hands grasping Harry's hair, her fingers running through his unruly locks. One of her hands ran down his side and under his shirt. He felt his skin burn as her hand was pressed against his chest. He pulled his mouth away from hers and kissed the corner of her mouth, teasing her.

“I love you,” muttered Harry and he kissed down her jaw line, Hermione's arms coming back around his neck.

“I love you to,” said Hermione as she pulled Harry's lips back to hers desperately.

“I'm sorry- that -I've been-so-blind,” gasped Harry between their kisses.

“Forget it.” Hermione crushed her lips back to Harry's stopping him from being able to speak anymore. Harry responded to her kiss briefly, before pulling back for air. His eyes opened to see Hermione standing on her tiptoes, clutching his shoulders, still frozen from his kiss. Her eyes fluttered open and they looked into each other's eyes. Harry beamed and pressed his forehead against each other.

“How long have you liked me?” asked Hermione, playing with the hairs on Harry's neck.

“Since that night outside the tent, when you described what you thought love was. I dunno, but since then, the idea of you and me…fit.”

“Maybe it's always fit,” said Hermione, a smile playing on her lips, “and we were just too thick to realize it. Too busy chasing after others, when what we needed was right in front of us.”

“We had to go after others, don't you see? Out two relationships showed us what we really needed…they pushed us together.”

“Maybe…Hermione's smile faltered. “What will Ron and Ginny say when they find out?”

“You know what they will say. They will be upset.” Harry took a deep breath and moved his forehead from hers, dropping her hands that he had been grasping. “Do you still want this though?” Harry pointed to him, and then to Hermione. She nodded.

“Yeah, I really do.” She reached out and grabbed Harry's hand. He smiled softly, looking down at Hermione.

“No regrets?”

“No regrets,” said Hermione firmly. A harsh, cold wind blew over the darkening grounds. Harry and Hermione turned around to see the flickering lights of the torches and candles inside Hogwarts. They could hear chatter and singing; the celebration for the end of the war. “We should get back. It's getting kind of chilly.” Harry nodded and pulled Hermione into his side, his arm going around her waist. Hermione put her arm around his waist. Harry remembered them being in the same position as they had left his parent's graves last Christmas as they were hunting for the sword.

And as they walked back into Hogwarts Castle, or what was left of it, Harry realized that she had been there all along, and now he was lucky enough to have her. The one person who had stood beside him no matter what; who never doubted him, the one person who he knew truly loved him, and the one person that he knew he loved. He pulled her tighter to him as he felt her shiver. Hermione leaned her head on his shoulder, and they stepped into the Great Hall, leaving behind them all their doubts, fears, and the life full of war and death that they had known for so long, and walked into their new life without Voldermort, and their new life with each other….

…………………………………………19 years later…………………………………

“Mum! I wanna go! Please?” cried Lily-Anne as she was standing beside her mother and her father between platforms nine and ten at King's Cross, staring longingly at her two older brothers who were facing the barrier with their luggage . “Why can't I go?”

“Because you aren't old enough. Two more years,” said Hermione Potter firmly as she looked down at her daughter. Lily looked just like her mother; the same hair, face, lips, all that was different were her eyes: they were emerald green, like her father's. Sensing defeat, Lily walked over to her father.

“Daddy?” whined Lily as her oldest brother James disappeared into the barrier dividing the two platforms.

“Yes honey?” asked Harry Potter as he nodded to his youngest son Remus, showing him that he was clear to move onto platform nine and three quarters.

“Can I go?” asked Lily, pouting. Harry laughed and grabbed her hand, turning to follow Remus.

“No dear, didn't you hear your mother?”

“Yes I did. That is why I tried to ask you,” said Lily simply. Hermione and Harry laughed at their daughter's comment.

“She's getting more like you everyday Harry,” joked Hermione. Harry laughed. Their vision became obscured by thick smoke coming from the scarlet train. Remus was waiting for his parents; James had already run over to his fellow fourth years. He was standing with his posse. Harry walked over to James.

“James Severus?” asked Harry. His son turned away from the group of boys that surrounded him. “Can I talk to you?” sure dad,” said James. His friends told James that they were going to hold seats, and left. A group of girls walked by. James winked at them, and they giggled.

“James?” asked Harry again. James looked back at his father.

“Sorry, what did you have to say?”

“Please promise me that you will look after your brother. And please try to stay out of trouble! You're giving you granddad a run for his money.”

“I'll try dad,” said James. Harry raised his eyebrows.

“You had better try. If I get one more letter saying that you've turned another corridor into a swamp-,”

“It was in honor of the anniversary of Fred and George's departure! They gave me it!” said James, holing up his hands. “It wasn't just me!”

“I'll be talking to them too,” said Harry. “Just promise me that you will try to cut back on the pranks.”

“I'm not a miracle worker.”

“I'm serious James. And make sure you keep your grades up.”

“I promise! Number one in our class. Don't wanna let that go do I?” Harry laughed.

“You are your mother's son-,” the train whistle blew. “James, I have got to go say goodbye to Remus. Keep an eye on him. Help his first year be the best it can be?”

“I will Dad,” said James as he hugged his dad goodbye.

“Bye mini-me,” said Harry. James laughed.

“See ya dad.” James ran over to his mom and gave her a hug goodbye. Harry walked over to Remus, who was standing at one of the doorways onto the train.

“You okay Remus?” asked Harry. The eleven year old looked up at his father.

“I'm scared. What if no one likes me?”

“Nonsense. You are friends with Hugo, Uncle Ron and Aunt Luna's son, and Julie, their daughter. Plus, James will help you-,”

“Are you sure?” asked Remus skeptically. Harry laughed.

“Maybe. I hope. Julie will help you. Go to her. James as a last resort.” Remus smiled.

“What if I don't get into Gryffindor-,”

“We will disown you,” said Ron seriously, popping up behind Harry, holding Luna's hand, his wife of 16 years. Remus' lip quivered.

“Oh Ronald!” scolded Luna. Hermione glared at Ron.

“Don't' scare him, he's nervous enough,” she said.

“Sorry,” said Ron. “Can't you take a joke?” Hermione, Luna and Harry looked at Ron. “Okay! Sorry!” Hermione laughed softly as she stood next to Harry.

“Remus, we don't care what house you are put into-,”

“But what if I get put in Slytherin?” asked Remus, eyes wide. Harry kneeled down beside his son as kids rushed onto the train as the second whistle blew.

“It wouldn't mean anything. You get put where you want to go, where you are best suited for. Whatever house gets you will be lucky, because you are a good kid, and a brilliant wizard. The house means nothing. I almost got put in Slytherin. And the bravest wizard I've known was in Slytherin. We gave James his name: Severus. Be proud wherever you go.”

“But I want to be in Gryffindor like you!” Harry grinned.

“Then you will. Everything will be okay.” The last warning whistle went off. Hermione pulled Harry to his feet.

“Remus has to go!” Harry hugged his son tightly.

“I'll be sending you your broomstick in a week okay?” whispered Harry. Remus nodded, grinning.

“I'm gonna be the best seeker ever!” said Remus. Harry laughed.

“Well, at least it will be my son!”

“Me and James will be on the same team then!” exclaimed Remus as Hermione pushed him up the steps. Remus disappeared and reappeared a moment later at the window nearest to his parents.

“YES YOU WILL!” yelled Harry over the sound of the train staring up. Hermione grabbed Harry's arm as they both waved to their kid. Luna and Ron's kids showed up in the window next to Remus, waving.

“BYE!” called Julie.

“SEE YOU!” yelled Hugo, who was too starting his first year at Hogwarts.

“BYE!: called the parents. At the last moment, James appeared in the window with a girl clutching his arm.

“BYE MOM! BYE DAD! BYE LILY!” yelled James, waving goodbye. The train started to move. Lily was jumping up and down, crying as she saw her brothers leaving. The train pulled out, Lily running after the train, Remus, James, Julie, and Hugo laughing, along with other students.

“TAKE ME WITH YOU!” she cried. Laughter rang out over the platform. Tons of students were waving goodbye to Harry from the train. A lone girl with long black hair cried out-

“BYE MR. POTTER!” Harry laughed as the train turned the corner, taking his sons with it. Harry kept waving even though they had left. Hermione rested her head on his shoulder.

“It will be okay. We will see them at Christmas.” Harry nodded.

“I know…” Hermione kissed him softly on the lips. Lily stomped back to her parents.

“Why can't I go?” she pouted.

“Because I'd miss you too much!” Harry grabbed her and squeezed her; Lily laughed.

“Let's get going. Lily is meeting Hillary Longbottom at noon,” said Hermione.

“Ginny and Neville's kid?” asked Ron. Hermione nodded, looking at her watch.

“Yes, now let's go.” Everyone except for Harry started to leave the platform. Harry was staring at the train tracks, already missing his kids…

“Harry?” Hermione put her hand on his shoulder. “They will be okay.” Harry touched his scar.

“I know…I just miss them. Hermione turned Harry's face so he could look at her head on and.

“I do too…but what are we gonna do? Now come, let's get home.” Hermione stood on her toes and kissed Harry's scar lovingly. Harry nodded, and grabbed her hand, and together they walked back to the muggle world.

Harry touched his scar subconsciously. His scar hadn't hurt in nineteen years. All was good and all would be good. There was nothing to fear…
