Million Echoes

One
A scream could be heard throughout the Gryffindor tower.
"Ronald Weasley! You get your arse over here!"
Now, most people would have just shrugged it off. But the thing is, no one's ever heard Virginia Weasley that pissed off. Of course there have been times she's been mad that she became red in the face. But had she ever verbally yelled at Ron? No. So much to the shock of poor innocent, bystanding Gryffindor's Virginia Weasley huffed out chasing after her brother with a wand no less.
Ron ran off tripping a tad here and there but made it out of the portrait hole. That didn't stop her though. Only made her more angry with him for trying to escape her. She ran right after him pretty quickly considering he was taller with longer legs. As they ran people in the halls peeked over watching the red blur run by them. Ravenclaw's merely shook their heads while Hufflepuff's laughed and bet that Ron would tire out soon. Of course Slytherin's weren't there to see anything; unless you count the Slytherin Prince.
"Weasley, being chased by a girl? You're younger sister no less?" Draco Malfoy drawled, smirking at the boy who was huffing and puffing. Ron groaned asking, "Why me Merlin?"
"Ron Weasley show your fecking face or be sure to have a couple of Mum's howlers!" Virginia yelled. As Draco snickered he shoved Ron right in front of Weasley Jr.
"Petrificus Totalus!"
"Very nice Weasley," Draco said coming out from the shadow he had been hiding in.
"Thanks Malfoy," she said sarcastically. "Your opinion means the world to me."
"Of course Weasley, my pleasure," he drawled annoyingly. He smirked at her while peaking a look at Weasley Sr. Although his legs and arms were bound and he was on the floor, he seemed very angry.
"Well, see you around," she said giving a little wave and a "mobilicorpus" to move Ron.
"Yeah Red, sure," Draco said before sweeping back into the shadows.
It was already 8 o'clock and Virginia wanted breakfast before classes. So dragging Ron back to Gryffindor tower and through the portrait of the Fat Lady she let him drop onto one of the couches and flounced off to her dorm to get ready. She donned her school uniform of a skirt, blouse, tie, stockings, shoes, and a robe with the Gryffindor crest. Pulling her hair up into a twisty she made a quick one and sighed aggravated as the few pieces fell. She blew them out of her face and put on lip gloss, eyeliner, and mascara. She grabbed her bag and rested it on her shoulder and headed to the Great Hall.
Waving to Natalie Portman, fellow 6th year Gryffindor and Virginia's best friend, she signaled her to meet her in the Great Hall. Natalie nodded and quickly piled her books into her bag. Virginia made her way, climbing down the main steps and turning to the entrance. She pushed the door open and made her way to sit with the other Gryffindors.
Natalie came in shortly after and the two girls began talking not even realizing the time. Virginia looking around and noticing most students were gone looked at her watch to realize she had two minutes to get to Potions.
"Crap, I have to go Nat. I'll see you around!" she called before grabbing her bag and racing out, running towards the dungeons. She had advanced Potions meaning she had class with the 7th years. Most of her classes were advanced but people never really noticed. They knew, but didn't notice.
She ran and ran, of course with her luck smack into Draco Malfoy.
"Watch were your going Red," he said smirking.
"Ugh, thanks a lot Malfoy. I'm late," she said angrily knowing Malfoy was late too but of course would never be penalized for it.
"Sure thing. You sure are one to give credit, 'ey?" Malfoy asked chuckling.
"As much as I hate to interrupt this lovely conversation you two need to get to class. Which started three minutes ago. Detention both of you. Tonight at 8," Snape snarled. Draco looked surprised to be yelled at but said nothing. Once Snape turned around Virginia gave him the finger and next to her Draco snickered.
"Tomorrow night as well Weasley and Malfoy. Get inside," he said opening the door revealing a very quiet classroom.
Draco took his seat next to Goyle in the middle while Virginia sat next to Dean Thomas. Snape went on and on about some potion they were supposed to make but not many people listened. Except when he mentioned they would be doing it in partners and he would be picking them. As much as Professor Snape hates Gryffindors he had to admit, Virginia Weasley was one of his best students. While Granger was smart, she only had book smart. She didn't know actual knowledge unless she read it somewhere.
"Pairs will be named. Understand that these will be for the whole project. The project will be due in two months. Hermione Granger and Gregory Goyle, Ronald Weasley and Vincent Crabbe, Virginia Weasley and Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter and Blaise Zabini..."
Almost the whole room seemed to hold their breath as he announced Weasley with Malfoy. How unlikely, both parties made their note of disgust but didn't verbally voice anything. Ron jumped out of his seat at the announcement.
"Weasley sit down, your disturbing the class," Snape said snidely. The Slytherin's snickered while the Gryffindor's rolled their eyes.
Ron's ears were red but sat down. He threw looks at Malfoy as Snape spoke announcing the rest of the partners.
"Come forward and pick up a vial of each. You are to identify what they are, explain what they are used for, and write a foot for each vial. If it's less than a foot you're failing," Snape said before walking to his desk.
Virginia stood up and grabbed a vial of each. She stood with and bagged 36 vials. She handed over 18 vials to Draco and raised her hand hoping that Snape would look up and answer her.
"Yes Weasley?" he asked not even looking up.
"Sir, how is this a partner project? Technically you don't need a partner," she said pointing out that she could identify and write a foot on each just fine by herself.
He looked up and smiled cruelly. "Why, Miss Weasley? Because you'll be testing each one and your partner will be taking notes."
She nodded and sighed disgusted.
Both Draco and Virginia had a similar thought, "bring it on".
A/N: Hi! Okay, wow, I didn't figure I'd get any reviews! Thanks to everyone who did. And anybody who read the prologue too. I do realize that it was short and some things were unrealistic but oh well. Lol This is the first time I've written on portkey.org so my formatting is different. I'm trying to get down how to do this correctly. Anyway, hope you liked this chapter as well! (I know this chapter is kinda short too – sorry! I needed an opener though. Next one will be longer hopefully)
