Who’s that in the darkness and what the hell is wrong with Hermione?

~*~*~

That night Ginny and Hermione went to Dumbledore’s office to ask him a favour.

“Peppermint,” Hermione said and they went up the staircase leading to the old man’s office. When they reached his office door they knocked and stepped inside after hearing the head master’s approval…

“Miss Granger, Miss Weasley, so good to see you,” he said gazing at them through his half moon glasses.

“Likewise professor, we we’re wondering if you could do us a small favour.” Ginny said.

“Of course, but that depends on what kind of favour you’re asking?” He asked placing the quill he was writing with, down. He stood up, got a biscuit and went over to feed it to Fawks.

“Well, we want to buy some dress robes for the dance, and we wanted to get your permission to go to Hogsmeade this weekend?” Hermione said.

“Of course, Miss Granger, but take care. Even though Voldemort is dead, there are still many dangers out in the world!” he said and sat back down at his desk. “Well good day, Miss Weasley…Granger, I believe you wouldn’t want to be caught by Filch. He’s terribly nasty to the students lately.”

“Thank you Professor, good night!” Ginny said.

“Goodnight Professor,” Hermione said as well and they both left heading towards the common room.

“What’s up Ginny?” Harry asked as he sat down beside Ginny, who shifted uncomfortably under his emerald gaze.

“N……..nothing, just h……homework!” she replied stuttering as she felt her cheeks redden in embarrassment.

“Oh, okay, better leave you to it. ‘Mione and I are going to go to the Astronomy tower or Le club de Astronomé.” He said excitedly.

The Astronomy tower was an abandoned classroom to which the students took the liberty to transfigure into a club. With a few silencing charms and a couple of transfiguration charms, the club was up and running. Ginny groaned to herself.

Was he blind or dense?  Couldn’t he see that she loved him? Draco was just a plaything to make him jealous but he was more blind then she had anticipated… She thought to herself as Hermione came downstairs dressed in a butter-yellow dress. She had her hair in a French twist and black strapy sandals. She looked very good, but not at all excited to go with him. Instead she had a boring, distant, uninterested gaze as she looked for Harry, who stood up and went over to her side.

What was up with her? Ginny wondered and decided to ask her later, after all they were best-friends. The two ‘love birds’ left and Ginny went back to her DADA text book, researching a good topic to write an essay for the term project. She had up to the end of November to finish it but, she thought she’d better start it.

Besides she had nothing better to do. She had skipped dinner due to the cause labelled ‘her brother’. He showered her with questions of her whereabouts during lunch so she hadn’t gone into the great hall to eat after the afternoon classes.

She didn’t need Ron yelling at her in front of all the student body, she was already a geek (not exactly, but she believed so) and didn’t want any more ‘attention’.

Her stomach grumbled and she sighed as she closed her textbook with a loud snap. She stood up and grabbed her summer silk silver robe. She smiled as she remembered the summer past events.

Her family had discovered that their ancestors had built an everlasting money cauldron. It gave you infinite amount of money and was restricted. You could be sent to Azkaban for creating a money cauldron, but in the Weasley case, the ministry left them the cauldron after doing some tests and realizing it was indeed the work of their ancestors. Since then, life was very good for the nine redheads.

By now, Ginny had reached the end of the staircase. She shivered as she started walking down the corridor, pulling her silk robe closer. I should’ve gotten dressed! Ginny thought as she remembered what she was wearing, a pair of black silk boxers with stars on them and a matching belly-top.

Ginny snapped her head quickly and looked behind as she heard a swishing sound. She glanced in every corner, regretting ever leaving her wand back in her dorm. After a couple of minutes, she got the courage and started walking again.

She had barely walked 2 feet, when she heard it again. She froze to the spot as her head the swishing sound come closer…and closer…and closer! Then it stopped. Ginny, carefully turned around but saw nothing. Out of nowhere, a beautiful blue necklace fell to her feet. She looked at the ceiling and saw nothing but the stone carvings.

She looked down at the ground and at the necklace and bent down to pick it up. The moment she touched she felt a cold shiver run through her arm, then her entire body, but that wasn’t all that frightened Ginny. A soft feminine dead-cold whisper was heard and an icy wisp of wind was felt as it spoke.

You have been sighted! And then it was gone, leaving Ginny a sliver pendant with a beautiful rare water stone.

It was said that only two had been made out of the heart of the water God. One had belonged to Merlin and blew up when it fell in the wrong hands, never to be repaired and the other one, nobody really knew. People believed that the stone had ended up somewhere in , but nobody really knew.

And here she was, Ginny, holding one of the most powerful objects of magic. Maybe Dumbledore knew something about it, Ginny thought as she placed the pendant over her neck. She stood up and pulled her silver cloak a little tighter.

A minute later, she heard footsteps echoing from down the Hallway and soon she stood face to face with Malfoy.

“Did you hear that?” she asked him

“Hear what?” he said and looked at her.

“That voice…It was…oh never mind!” She shivered as she remembered that voice and started moving closer to Draco.

“You’re weird Weasley.” He said teasingly.

“Aren’t I? That makes me even more exciting, doesn’t it?” she asked getting closer to him. She felt the electric shock she felt when she touched the necklace surge through her again. It was actually quiet pleasant, giving her power and pumping her blood faster.

She was now close enough to kiss him. She reached out and licked his lips seductively. She felt his body respond as he got closer to her, his hardness pressing against her stomach. He was close to her…so close that he could smell the special aroma of cinnamon and apples that always came with the mystery that was Ginny Weasley… Despite the fact that his body yelled at him to grasp her slim frame he was not quite able to bring his hands to grab her tiny waist. Big mistake! When he tried to kiss her fully on lips, she pulled away, leaving him wanting to be pressed against the length of her frail body.

“Don’t worry Drake, you’re still number one in-between the guys when it comes to the game of Seduction. As for the girls, consider you’ve got competition to compete with” With that said she turned around and left Malfoy staring at her retreating back, shocked.

What the hell is wrong with me? Why did I do that? She asked herself. She wasn’t hungry anymore. It was like she had discovered a hidden side of herself when she had found that pendant. Well, let’s hope for the best, she said quietly and climbed up to the 6th year girl’s dorm. She brushed her teeth and slipped in her bed, seeing as she was already wearing her pyjamas.

~*~*~

Next day in the morning, Ginny got an early start, so she would be able to catch Hermione when she woke up. She went over and had quick hot shower. After she was done, while she was dressing, she saw the bathroom door open and Hermione entered slowly with a towel draped over her arm.

Her eyes were puffy from sleeping and her hair was sticking out in every direction.

“Long night ?” Ginny asked as she came beside her, at the sink, and turned on the taps grabbing her tooth brush.

 “Don’t remind me!” Hermione said.

“What do you mean?” She asked her as she finished brushing her teeth and spat the water out of her mouth.

“He’s so bloody annoying?” She exclaimed and took off her pyjamas.

            “Who,” Ginny asked, “Harry?”

“Who else? He keeps on babbling about how much he loves me , how beautiful I am, how he can’t take his eyes off me……Bit annoying really!” She said as she finished putting on her skirt and pulled on a white shirt. Ginny stood shocked, frozen to the spot.

“Are you okay?” Hermione asked as she fixed her hair with a ‘courlous’ charm.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” her friend said once she was able to talk. One minute Hermione was completely in love with Harry the next she hated him...Ginny blinked twice rapidly and shook her head confused.

“Well I’m done...!” Hermione said and left. “You coming” Hermione called from their shared dorm. Ginny frowned in the mirror and followed Hermione out of the bathroom and to breakfast.
