Ginny's Secret
5. The Unexpected Visitor (chapter 5)
A/N continue from the cut off in chapter 4, sorry for the short chapters, I've been busy!
“What? Oh, nothing is wrong with me, I'm just a little tired, that's all. I haven't gotten much sleep because I've had so much homework and my family is traveling a lot!” lied Ginny, she was actually surprised at how little time it takes her to think of a lie!
“Your lying, come on, tell met the truth!” spat Malfoy, getting irritated that the girl he cared about won't even be honest with him!
“Why do YOU care? Butt out of my business, OK?” said Ginny coldly and ran away. She knew she shouldn't have done that to Draco, he was just trying to help! She immediately started regretting it. She ran under the beech tree near the lake, she had to think about things. She had to think about what Sirius was showing her, she had to know for sure if Draco liked her. And she was going to find out soon!
A few hours later
“Weasley! I need to talk to you! Why did you run away- oh my god!” exclaimed Draco. He saw Ginny's face, it has blood streaming down it and she was crying.
“What the hell happened to you? TELL ME!” demanded Draco, kneeling down at her and touching her cheeks. He pulled his cloak off and draped it around her, then took off his OWN T-SHIRT and wiped the blood off of her. She looked away and shoved his t-shirt in his face.
“Put that back on! Do you have ANY decency? It's 50 degrees out here!” said Ginny.
Draco put it on over his thin undershirt and then asked her again to tell him what happened and she finally broke.
“This is the story; I was going to my weekend Quidditch practice. I do it because I love Quidditch and I can't play now, anyway. I was walking in the hall and I heard somebody talking, I could tell they were up to no good, so, I started listening. It was a Hufflepuff boy named Jay. He said this `No! No I can't do that Jared, you know that! That would count as a crime; I need to get back at Hermione some other way. I've got it! I'll go to the library and find her there, tell her I need to tell her something in the owlery. You know how the owlery has those long windows, I'll simply push her off and pretend like I'm sorry and scream after her. Then, when Dumbledore come, I'll give a big, long, detailed story about how she fell! And make it out so that I was the hero and did all I could to save her! Then people will notice me! I'm just `the boy in Hufflepuff in the 7th year' to everybody. Then why don't any of the 7th years pay attention to me? Because Harry Potter is in the same year and the whole world revolves around him. Hermione even thinks that, I love her and she doesn't notice me! I'll get rid of Harry Potter and his whole TRIO! You'll see! Jared, we got to do this!' and then that's when I stepped in. He said `hi' sweetly then I told him that I heard everything he said and before I could disarm him, he punched me in the face, I was knocked unconscious! I guess he picked me up and threw me over here!” Ginny finished her story and took a deep breath.
Draco was just staring at Ginny's blood-streaked body and he wondered if right now is the right time to tell her about what he had heard an hour ago.
“Um, let's get you inside and you can come to my room since I have my own. You can take a bath and tell me everything that happened, and this time I want the truth,” said Draco.
Ginny finally looked up into his gray eyes and saw that she could trust him and that he really did care and was changing. She got up and he helped her walk to the Slytherin Head Boy's room.
When they got to the room Draco showed Ginny to the bathroom and while she took a bath he made hot chocolate (yes, he is cooking without magic). He made two cups and she came out inside his emerald robe and that was all she had on. Her hair was wet and she was putting it up in a towel. She sat on his bed while he sat next to her. Draco gave her the hot chocolate and they started talking.
“So, are you going to tell me any more of what you know or should I go first?” asked Draco.
“Well, I don't know much more since I blacked out, all I could feel was a stinging cold, I was someplace cold, he might of put some spell on me! I don't know what he did, but I hope all he did was try to make me freeze to death outside, and he would've succeeded if you didn't come,” said Ginny while she gave Draco a grateful smile and he smiled back.
“Well, just an hour ago Granger came running up to me and saying that somebody was sending her death threat notes and I asked her why she was telling me, she said because Harry and Ron are nowhere to be found. So, I decided to help her find out who it was, I could tell it wasn't a Gryffindor or Slytherin because all Gryffindors love Hermione and all Slytherins just want to stay away from her. So, she came up with all the people she has hurt and she thought of Jared, Cynthia, and Harry. (she had gotten mad at Harry in the first Chapter) I decided I had to go find you because for some reason you are always in the right place at the right time. When I didn't see you in the common room, Great Hall-,“ said Draco and then he was cut off by Ginny.
“How do you know I go to the Great Hall?” asked Ginny, frightened that he might know that she see's Sirius.
“Well, I followed you after our fight that day and then Pansy caught me but I still followed you and saw you vanished,” replied Draco with a bit uncertainty.
“Oh, well, you know, I can take care of myself and I don't need your help!” said Ginny, even though she was grateful that he found her, she didn't want to show that she was weak.
Ever since Ginny was a child the greatest thing she hated was pity. She didn't let her friends feel pity for her because she was full and she doesn't want people to pity her brother. When she was small there was one girl who didn't know she was poor and she hated Ginny. When the girl found out Ginny was poor, she started trying to be her friend, started pitying her. Ginny went up to the girl and told her that she doesn't have to be nice to her just because she pity's her. Ginny wants to EARN her friends, not buy them over with pity! Ever since that incident, Ginny has not shown weakness or gave somebody reason to pity her. This is why she quickly got up and left for the common room.
Draco was totally dumbstruck; he had no clue why Ginny isn't thanking him for not letting her die in the cold! He started getting frustrated and then thought that it has to do with her sadness. Draco had to find out what this sadness is, he just had to!
The next day
“Oi! Ginny, I w-was wondering if-f you are going go to Hogsmeade,” stuttered Colin.
“Of course I am, I always go,” said Ginny while she took some bread out of the middle of the table.
“I mean, w-with me,” asked Colin, awaiting her answer.
“You mean on a date?” asked Ginny, astounded.
“You-You could call it that,” answered Colin.
Ginny thought carefully, `A date with Colin Creevey, the boy who stalked Harry for a whole year! Maybe it wouldn't be too bad, she has always had a little thing for Colin'
“Sure, why not,” said Ginny while she bit into her sandwich.
Colin was silently rejoicing while Harry, Ron, and Hermione stared at Ginny. They never knew she liked him and they decided that it wouldn't be so bad. But what would DRACO think?
HOSPITAL WING
When Draco entered the room that weekend, he saw that Ginny wasn't there and it was only Madame Pomfrey. His heart sank, he was hoping for Ginny so he could talk to her about last night, but he suspected she was at Hogsmeade.
“Where is Ginny?” asked Draco.
“Oh, she went to Hogsmeade with that nice Colin, he is a very good potions person, he might want to work volunteer hours here- ,“ and Madame Pomfrey went on and on boasting about Colin.
Draco was cursing in his head, `She's MY girl! Nobody can steal her, wait, what am I saying, I am not JEALOUS I don't even like her! Let her go out with any boy she wants. I don't care, do I? Do I really have hidden feelings for her? No, I just want to know why she's sad that's all. Caring about somebody isn't a bad thing, of course, that's what GINNY said. No, her name is Weasley, WEASLEY! God, Malfoy, what's gotten into you?'
“Draco? DRACO! Here is your medicine,” said Madame Pomfrey sweetly while she handed him the medicine.
“Oh, uh, thanks,” said Draco.
Draco gulped down the potion and put the vial on the table. He sprinted out of the door and down to Hogsmeade. He didn't know why, but he wanted to SPY on her. He knew she'd be mad, but he couldn't help it.
He had to know what was going on!
A/N Hey! Yes, I know this chapter is unexpected and is also a bit short, I only do this short all the other times! The next chapter might take awhile, my parents are limiting my time on the computer because they say I'm on too long! That was the end on chapter 5 thank you!
