The She-Weasel And The Ferret
The news that Ginny and Draco had somehow switch bodies spread like wild fire around the school. Everywhere Ginny went she saw students gnashing their teeth at her; people were obviously angry about the fact that Ginny had helped Slytherin win the house cup, even the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students glared at her. Only the Slytherins seemed to not mind, in fact they were all giving her curious glances, even greeting her with friendly good mornings. Ginny had been quite shocked when the whole Slytherin Quidditch team had came and greeted her, giving her slaps on the back and congratulating her on her flying and style.
Ginny watched as the team walked away still chatting happily, “How does everyone know?” she asked Hermione confused.
Hermione sighed, “Ron of course. He went ballistic and told everyone. I think he's just upset because Luna thought it was nice you and Draco are friends.”
Ginny growled and glared at the flash of red hair that could be seen at the Gryffindor table. “That idiot, doesn't he realise what the outcomes of this could be?”
Hermione shook her head, “I seriously doubt it.”
Ginny sighed and walked over to her brother, “Hello brother dear, what is this you've been spreading about me?”
Ron looked at her angrily, though the effect was somehow ruined because his mouth was stuffed with porridge. Swallowing deeply he growled, “Someone had to show what a traitor you are!”
Ginny rolled her eyes, “This isn't about being a traitor or not! How would it have looked if I had purposely lost when I was still Draco? You don't think of that do you?”
“You let Slytherin win, you actually caught the snitch for them!” Ron bellowed. His voice so loud that people around the hall were giving them curious glances.
“How can you be so stupid?” Ginny yelled angrily, “I had no choice!”
“Ginny calm down,” Harry said quietly.
“No Harry, I will not calm down!” Ginny shouted, her frustrations finally getting the better of her, “You all sit there acting like a bunch of idiots, not even talking to me and you're supposed to my friends!” She glared at them, “The Slytherins have been nicer to me than what you have, and I've had enough! Obviously I'm not welcome here!”
Ron turned his face away, while everyone else gave her slightly hostile glances. Ginny sighed and walked away from the table, tears falling down her cheeks. She stopped suddenly in surprise when she felt someone grab her hand. Looking up she saw Draco Malfoy looking down at her, “C'mon Ginny,” He said giving a cursory glance at the seething Gryffindors, “You can come sit with us.”
Ginny followed Draco slowly to the Slytherin table. She sat down on the spare seat next to Draco and looked around at the Slytherins. Some smiled, while other's just stared at her curiously. Blaise gave her a reassuring smile; he looked rather funny sandwiched between Crabbe and Goyle. Pansy was sitting next to him and was looking at Ginny, a strange expression on her face.
“You know Weasley, I wanted to apologise.” Pansy said, sincerely.
Ginny looked slightly surprised, “For what?” She asked confused.
“For putting you through such a hard time when you were Draco. I guess you got caught up in the middle of things and I'm sorry for dragging you into it.” Pansy said shrugging slightly.
Ginny nodded and felt something brush her thigh. Jumping slightly she looked up at Draco who was looking at her apologetically, “Sorry,” he said quickly, “Not much room here.”
Ginny blushed slightly and looked the other way. She could feel the heat rising through her and didn't want Draco to see the effect he was having on her.
Pansy smirked knowingly and leaned over to whisper something in Blaise's ear. Ginny watched the interchange and flushed as Blaise grinned and gave her a small wink.
All of a sudden Ginny became very aware of how close she was to Draco. Their arms and legs kept nudging each other and she could smell his cologne, that almost spicy mysterious scent she loved.
He looked down at her and smiled, a strange look in his eyes, “What are you staring at Ginny? Is there something on my face?”
Ginny shook her head, why was this happening now? It was just Draco. She'd been in his body for over a week for goodness sakes! She knew everything there was to know about him, and I mean everything, even that tiny mole he has on his lower back. “It's nothing,” Ginny said quickly, trying to ignore the smirks Pansy and Blaise kept throwing her.
Draco shrugged and finished his breakfast. Seeing Pansy and Blaise's smirking faces he sighed, “Do you want to go for a walk Ginny?”
Ginny nodded, “Yeah, that would be nice. Everyone is staring at us.”
Draco glanced at the curious and hostile expressions on people's faces around the Great Hall and laughed, “You'd think they had nothing better to do than nose in on other people's business.”
Ginny agreed, giving Ron a haughty glare, as she followed Draco out of the Great Hall.
Once they were away from prying eyes Draco led Ginny away from the doors towards the courtyard. “Now that we got out of there...” Draco said with an amused look, he paused as he saw Ginny's expression, “What's wrong?” he asked concerned.
Ginny sighed, “Well I guess I'm just a little angry.”
“A little?” Draco asked with a small smile, “You're furious, I can tell.”
Ginny smiled, “That obvious huh?”
Draco nodded, “I don't blame you for getting angry at the Gryffindors, but don't let them get to you.” He looked at her seriously, “I don't like seeing you upset like this.”
Ginny looked up at him surprised. Draco Malfoy was being sympathetic to her? He was worried about her? Where did the arrogant snarky boy she used to know go?
“You know I used to think you were so mean to everyone,” Ginny said quietly.
“And what do you think now?” Draco asked curiously, his silver gray eyes looking straight into hers.
Ginny smiled, “Well I've realised you don't just care about yourself, despite what you like to portray.”
“And?” Draco asked, moving closer to her.
“That although you think you are above everyone else, you really do care about them,” Ginny said with a sly grin.
Draco smirked in acknowledgment and looked at her curiously, “Go on.”
“But the thing that has me most puzzled is how different you act around me.” Ginny said, looking up at him questioningly.
Draco smiled and leant his face towards her ear, whispering, “That's an easy answer.”
“Oh?” Ginny asked a little breathlessly.
Draco nodded, “You see it's like this,” he said softly, as he tilted her face up to him, and kissed her full on the lips.
Ginny felt the heat surge through her body and pulled him closer as she deepened the kiss. Draco responded eagerly, running a hand through her luxurious hair as he kissed her passionately.
They pulled apart slightly breathless, both looking at each other rather shakily. Ginny smiled to herself, as she realised the effect she had on him; he was looking just as shocked as her.
Draco looked at her for a second before pulling her into his arms again, as he kissed her even more passionately then before. Ginny could feel shocks running down her spine and couldn't control the fire that ran through her body; who knew Draco Malfoy would be such a good kisser?
“OI!!” Someone shouted angrily.
Draco and Ginny sprang a part, as though they had been jolted with an electric shock.
“What do you think you're doing with my sister?” Ron shouted, as he ran forward.
Ginny, still trying to regain control of herself and stop the dizziness that threatened to overtake her, scowled, “Ron stop being so ridiculous and go away!”
“But-” Ron exploded.
“RONALD WEASLEY IF YOU DON'T GET AWAY FROM ME RIGHT NOW, I AM GOING TO BAT BOGEY HEX YOUR SORRY BUTT ALL THE WAY TO THE MOON!” Ginny screamed, finally losing it.
“I think she's serious,” Draco said amused.
Ron glared at her, “Fine, be that way. Just know we don't like traitors!”
“ARGGH!” Ginny shouted angrily, as she watched Ron stomp off. “He is so annoying!” She said furiously.
Draco smirked, “He's your brother.”
Ginny rolled her eyes, “Yeah well you're going to have to put up with him too.”
“Oh yeah, and why's that?” Draco asked smirking.
Ginny looked at him surprised, “I um..well, I guess I figured…”
“Yes?” Draco prompted.
“I figured we must be, you know, boyfriend and girlfriend now,” Ginny said quickly, blushing slightly.
Draco looked at her contemplatively, “I guess you're right. This does make us a couple.”
Ginny laughed, “You say it like it's a bad thing.”
Draco shrugged, “Well, I've learnt from experience that you can be a rather annoying Weaslette, with a lot of annoying friends.”
Ginny laughed, “Oh and I suppose you've got a perfect personality with perfect friends?”
Draco grinned, “Of course.”
Ginny hit him lightly, to which Draco only smiled. Looking at her seriously he took her hand, “I'm glad that spell happened Ginny.”
Ginny looked up at him curiously, “Oh and why's that?”
Draco gazed into her deep chestnut eyes, “Because I would never have gotten to know you otherwise.”
Ginny smiled, “I guess it wasn't such a nightmare being in my body after all?”
Draco laughed, “I guess not.”
They began walking towards the lake when a sudden idea hit Ginny, “Draco, I realised how we switched bodies!”
“Huh, how?” Draco asked curiously.
“C'mon!” Ginny shouted, grasping his hand and pulling him towards the library.
“Oh Ginny, not the library again,” Draco groaned, “I've been there enough this year to know the whole restricted section of by heart.”
Ginny laughed, “It's not in the restricted section, just come on and I'll show you!”
Draco followed somewhat reluctantly and was surprised when Ginny brought him into the romance section. “Um Ginny-” he began.
“Shh,” Ginny interrupted, pulling out a large black book.
Draco watched curiously as she opened the book and started flicking through the pages. Grinning she handed him the book and pointed to a section. “Read right there.”
Orlando stared at his hands in shock, “How can this be, I have changed into Leon, my rival?”
Hero grabbed his hands, “Oh Orlando, do not be angry. This is very old magic that happens between two people when there are suppressed emotions that need to be solved. You and Leon are brothers at heart, when you can forgive him for what he has done and accept him as your friend, only then will you return to yourself.”
Draco frowned, “This is what happened?”
Ginny nodded, “This book is really old, but I'd say the spell is correct.”
Draco laughed, “To think, after all that time wasted searching in the library, the answer was in the book you threw at me the day it happened.”
Ginny giggled, “That's true.”
Draco put the book down and looked at her, “Well no we know how it happened but I still don't-”
“Draco,” Ginny said firmly.
“Yeah?” Draco said surprised.
“Do me a favour.” Ginny said with a smile.
“What?” Draco said confused.
“Shutup and kiss me.”
Draco grinned and quite happily obliged, pulling her into a fiery kiss.
Ginny smiled to herself as she leaned against Draco's chest. After everything she had gone through, she never thought she would ever call herself Draco Malfoy's girlfriend, let alone actually feel happy that she could.
Fate had a strange way in dealing with things, and sometimes a little push is all we need to get us realising what's in our very faces, even if it is an arrogant ferret and a feisty she-weasel.
A/N: Well there you go, the end! I hope you liked this ending better then my last. I am much more happier with this one, but I would love to hear what you think!!!!
