My Friend
My friend I hate to say this,
but our friendship just can't last.
The time we're shared together,
has fallen into the past.
I told you this would happen,
our friendship was bound to end.
Although I know you still care,
I don't consider you a friend.
Please don't try and argue,
but try to understand time changes people.
Our friendship has been lovely,
but you see it has to end.
For I look at you a different way,
I'm afraid I've fallen in love with you my friend.

Hermione looked about the Great Hall as she sat down to eat. Harry came and sat behind her, sliding his arm around he waist. They were officially a couple. He had asked her last night before she went to bed. She was so happy that he had asked her that she hadn't slept a bit. She had guessed that the walls really had ears cause it seemed that this morning everyone knew, not that she minded, but people kept giving her dirty looks.
Harry has braided her hair again this morning and for once it wasn't bushy. She laughed silently to herself. Professor Dumbledore stood up and looked about the hall. Everyone fell quiet as he clinked his spoon against his goblet. "As you know Halloween is at the end of this month and we will be having a ball. The head students and perfects will arrange it. That is all, you may go back to eating." The hall was in an uproar of chaos over this ball. They were happy they were having one this year.
Harry looked down to Hermione and whispered something in her ear. "Will you go with me?" She rolled her eyes at him. "Of course, who else would I go with besides my boyfriend?" He laughed. "Ok, we're planning it, so it's got to be a blast." Hermione nodded. "I'm going to go see when the meeting is. I'll be back." She got up from the Gryffindor table and walked over to the Ravenclaw table.
She saw Natalie Jacob, the Head Girl, and went over to her. "Hey Nat? When is the meeting going to be?" Natalie looked up at Hermione. "Ummm… let me see." She looked through her bag for her planner. She opened it up and was looking through it. "Tomorrow morning. Hold on, I'll make an announcement and then we need to talk."
Natalie stood up on the chair and whistled loudly. Everyone fell silent and looked towards the head girl. "Ok, listen up. Sorry this is short notice but the meeting for the ball is tomorrow morning at 7:00 am sharp. If our meeting runs past 8:00, which is when classes start, then you will be excused. If not, then you will go to your classes. Thank you!" Natalie sat back down and pushed James Duncan, her boyfriend and head boy, down so Hermione could take a seat. James looked at her and grinned. Nat rolled her eyes.
"Why can't guys ever be serious for once?" "Cause only Sirius can be serious." She started laughing. (A/N: Sirius is in this story! He lives on!) Hermione sat down, "It's truth and what do you want to talk about?" Nat had that evil/ devilish gleam in her eyes. "What's going on between you and Harry?" Hermione blushed and told her the story. "Awww! That's soooo romantic!" Hermione laughed again.
The bell rang much to their distaste. "We'll have to talk some more later." "Ok." Hermione got up and walked back to the Gryffindor table to get her bag. Harry was holding it, waiting for her. Hermione took it throwing it over her shoulder. "Thanks." "No problem." He took her hand, laced their fingers, and walked to D.A.D.A together. Remus was their teacher again. They finally got over the fact that he was a werewolf.
2 hours later they walked out. Harry kissed her and they headed different ways, Hermione to Arithmancy and Harry to Divination. She had no idea why he still had that class. They all knew she was a fraud… Hermione rushed to Arithmancy cause it was almost on the other side of the castle. She could talk to Nat in this class too. It was one of the few classes that are mixed.
She sat down in her seat just as the bell rang. Professor Vector carried on as she started to talk to Natalie. "Herm?" "Yeah?" she asked. "How do you know if you're in love?" Hermione looked at her and grinned. "Well… your heart flutters, your stomach in knots, it hurts you to be away from him, you'd do anything to be with him…" She listed a few other things. "Why?" "I think I'm in love with James." "It took you this long to figure that out?" "Does everyone know but me?" Nat asked.
Hermione smiled. "Seems so. But you guys have been going out for like 2 years almost." "Yeah I know." They continued talking for the rest of the class. Most of the conversation was about Harry and Hermione or Natalie and James. Then the rest was about anything and everybody else. The bell rang once again and they walked down to lunch together. Nat took her place at Ravenclaw and Hermione took her place next to Harry at Gryffindor.
The rest of the day went by slowly as can be. By the end of classes they were all tired of teachers. That night before Hermione went up to go to bed, Harry slipped a necklace on her. It was silver with a cherry blossom. The words on it were 'Harry and Hermione Forever.' She kissed him tenderly. "Thanks." "It's true Hermione. It always will be." She smiled and kissed her again. "Good night. I love you." "Good night and I love you too."
She walked up to her room. She was alone again this year so she had a dorm all to herself. She changed into her pajamas and sat on her bed. She looked out the window and saw the brightest and only star. She did something she hadn't done since she was liitle, she wished upon it.
"Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I make tonight… I wish for everything to go right for a change. I wish for there to be a real forever between Harry and I." She layed down and fell asleep, dreaming of Harry.
