Starting the summer before Harry’s fifth year, Harry gets an invitation to be picked up and spend a few weeks with the Grangers – a pleasant diversion from staying with the Dursley’s. However, Voldemort has decided to order the death of one of Harry’s closest friends, Hermione Granger. The ancient magic used to save Hermione has formed a unique bond between Harry and Hermione, but is it really love or just a side effect of the spell? Harry struggles with this dilemma and his desire to protect Hermione by trying to not let her get too close to his heart – an effort that will ultimately fail.
