In what should be his seventh year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry Potter finds himself instead on a quest to stop the Dark Lord Voldemort once and for all. And while he's at it deal with the pressures of coming of age, an evil-minded Minister for Magic, the media, the changed relationship of his friends and encounters with the ever infamous Knights of Walpurgis: the Death Eaters. It's going to be a long year.
EXCERPT: They descended into twilight on a craggy dirt road leading into a village that was clearly a good way above sea level. They were thankfully protected from it, but they could almost feel the thin, chilly air around them, a fixture in a landscape of jutting cliffs and sharp peaks. But the villagers didn't seem to mind, of the ones they could see as their eyes fell away from the mountains and descended upon the village ahead. They bustled, staggered and hurried about as if this were Diagon Alley and the day had just begun. Ron couldn't help himself, he had to ask: “I wonder if Vicky came from a place like this?”

Three years post-HBP. Hermione and the Order want to break Harry out of Azkaban. The bespectacled twit got himself thrown in there when he failed to kill Lucius Malfoy subtly enough after Lucius had murdered Ron and Ginny. Hermione burns Harry in effigy, negotiates with a traitorous and unredeemable Snape, gets drunk with Fred and George, has a Girls' Night Out in Knockturn Alley with Fleur and Tonks, writes columns for Luna's Quibbler, kills Draco Malfoy... and that's just the legal stuff. (Previously posted in 12 chapter form.) EXCERPT: Harry had wanted Hermione to be Secret Keeper, but she had refused. She'd said it was important to keep the secret until he died, and she might die before him ("What if I get knocked down by a Muggle bus, Harry? Or blown up by televangelist terrorists? Or choke on a Marie biscuit?").

[ABANDONED]‘Are you going to kill me Harry?’ Mocked the soft, yet amused voice.
The question was followed by an amused laughter, that rang in his ears even after its’ owner had stop laughing.
It was dark and cold in the small room. Shadows walked in and out of sight and faint whispers could be heard every once in a while.
The dark haired figure stood in the middle of the room, breathing fast, but at the same time had a very amused smirk playing across her face. The figure playfully walked up to Harry, who was kneeling on the floor, with his wand held up high and a blank expression painted on his face. His face, which was usually handsome, was a mess at his current time; his lower lip was cut, with dried blood flaking off. The lightening scar in the middle of this forehead was bleeding and there were deep cuts on both of his cheeks. His glasses were broken and discarded in one of the corners of the room; making his unusually bright green eyes stand out with the contras of his pale face.

Yet as he followed the bickering pair into the kitchen (yes they had conjured up an argument that quickly) he couldn’t help thinking how anyone could feel that Hermione Granger was inferior to them.
