Apparently to right this wrong, Luna sends him to stay with some old friends who have just found good fortune. Once there, he discovers an empathy with an unlikely creature and begins at long last to believe Hermione may be ready to reach out and restore their strained friendship. Post Hogwarts.

'Who are you?' he asked, noticing the man's wand pointing sqaure at his chest. The cloaked man laughed harshly at the question, and took a step forward. 'I am your executioner Longbottom.' Neville realized the voice sounded familiar. The cloaked man removed his hood, and Neville fell backwards in shock. 'No! It- It can't be!' he whispered. The cloaked man laughed again, his red eyes looking at Neville on the floor. 'Oh it is. I am the Emerald Phoenix, and you are the first of many who will die at my wand. Avada Kedavra!'

It's going to be a long year. EXCERPT: They descended into twilight on a craggy dirt road leading into a village that was clearly a good way above sea level. They were thankfully protected from it, but they could almost feel the thin, chilly air around them, a fixture in a landscape of jutting cliffs and sharp peaks. But the villagers didn't seem to mind, of the ones they could see as their eyes fell away from the mountains and descended upon the village ahead. They bustled, staggered and hurried about as if this were Diagon Alley and the day had just begun. Ron couldn't help himself, he had to ask: “I wonder if Vicky came from a place like this?”
A fine line runs between almost everything in life. Sometimes we choose to cross that line, and other times we’re pushed across it. And on occasion, that line is broken entirely, taking the choice out of anyone’s hands. I didn’t like any of the situations. If I chose to cross it myself, then that would mean that I was responsible for what I had done. If I had no choice in the matter, then at least I’d be able to blame someone else, and then, just maybe, no one would blame me. I had no such luck.
After defeating the Dark Lord, Hermione leads Harry home.
Little did they know that their love - as insignificant as a pebble breaking the surface of an endless ocean - would ultimately decide the fate of everyone caught in the web of existence.
Hours after the funeral, Voldemort hears how his spy’s eagerness for revenge may have lead them to disobey him and risk exposure. Meanwhile back at Hogwarts, Harry discovers evidence of an impostor in their midst, although a glimpse of Hermione’s vision in the Mirror of Erised may prove to have greater consequences. Completed.
Voldemort was defeated only hours ago and yet Harry has been incarcerated in Azkaban. Hermione breaks into his cell to be close to him while she tries to work out what could have happened and whether her recollections of the Centaurs and Unspeakables are real or imagined. Was she really there to not only witness, but also help with the demise of Voldemort after all? This is a companion piece to The Third Day, told from Hermione’s perspective.
Voldemort may have gone, but the Wizarding World is still at war. As armies are preparing to do battle at the last stand of their Lord Protector and absolute ruler, Harry learns his own future rebellious family and friends will be slaughtered by the unconquered Gryffindor Army. The seeds of their destruction were sewn in the present day and Harry fears the only way he can save them is by setting himself against the increasingly ruthless Miss Alice and her Invisible Army as she prepares to bring Voldemort’s reign of terror to a premature end irrespective of the cost in lives.
