Chapter 15: Sorting of the Houses
"Harry!" Hermione yelled from her room.
Technically, there wasn't any use for not yelling. James was having a fit. Hermione was just about to have a fit herself.
Harry came running into the room thinking something was wrong.
"What is it Hermione?" Harry asked.
"It's your son, who won't go to sleep. He's cranky and is having a fit when his mother is just about to join him in with the fit," Hermione said rather quickly.
Harry went over to James and picked him up.
James's crying stopped.
"How? How come he just now stopped. I've tried picking him up and that did nothing of the sort," Hermione said, almost giving up.
"Oh Hermione don't worry. He just wanted his Daddy. There's nothing wrong in that," Harry said, while shushing James down.
"Then I guess you can feed him also while you're at it," Hermione said.
"Uh, Hermione I can't feed him," Harry said.
"Harry, I meant by going in the kitchen and feeding him the baby food that's in the cabinet. There's a spoon that's just right, in the drawer. I'll get the high-chair ready for him," Hermione said, leaving the room.
Harry followed her into the kitchen.

"First Years! All First Years come out!" a voice bellowed from outside.
Who was that? Lillian thought.
Don't worry sis. It's just Hagrid. Go outside like he says to do. Rose said to her.
Lillian then went out and joined the other first years.
~*~*~
Rose was at the moment, kissing her boyfriend, when she started to speak telepathically to Lillian. Maybe she was an empath. Maybe she can only feel what her sister felt sometimes. Was that normal? Rose thought.
Don't worry Rose. I'll help you on your newest skill later on in the year, Nicole said to her niece.
Thanks Aunt Nicole, Rose said as she continued to kiss John.
You're welcome and Rose? Nicole responded.
Yes? Rose answered.
Don't be like your father, Nicole said, referring to the way, Rose and John were at the moment. Don't go farther than of what you need.
What the hell did that mean? Rose thought. Somehow she managed for just her to hear her thought and not the other members of her family that had the Tacitus Imperium.
{AN: Tacitus Imperium is Latin for silent, ruling power. I've decided to change the Sinnent thing just a little bit. Maybe new powers involved and also, if you haven't noticed, a new name for it.}
"Rose?" John said, pulling out of the kiss.
"Hmm," Rose said, coming closer to his shoulder, while leaning her head on it.
"I need to go change into my robes," John said.
"Why didn't you do that when you first got on the train?" Rose asked.
"Sorry, I just didn't think about it," John said.
"It's ok but just hurry up ok?" Rose said, standing up and letting him go by.
"I'll be back my sweet," John said, giving her a kiss on the cheek and heading down the corridor.

Professor McGonagall led the first years into the Great Hall. Most of them were a little too quiet, mainly just gazing at the site before them.
Professor McGonagall set a three-legged stool on the ground and sat upon it was a dirty, old wizard's hat with a patch on one side.
There was a long eerie silence until it burst into song.
A thousand years or more ago,
When I was newly sewn,
There lived four wizards of renown,
Whose names are still well known:
Bold Gryffindor, from wild moor,
Fair Ravenclaw, from the glen,
Sweet Hufflepuff, from valley broad,
Shrewd Slytherin, from fen.
They shared a wish, a hope, a dream,
They hatched a daring plan
To educate young sorcerers
Thus Hogwarts School began.
The hat stopped for a breath and then continued…
Now each of these four founders
Formed their own house, for each
Did value different virtues
In the ones they had to teach.
By Gryffindor, the bravest were
Prized far beyond the rest;
For Ravenclaw, the cleverest
Would always be the best;
For Hufflepuff, hard workers were
Most worthy of admission;
And power-hungry Slytherin
Loved those of great ambition.
While still alive they did divide
Their favorites from the throng,
Yet how to pick the worthy ones
When they were dead and gone?
`Twas Gryffindor who found the way,
He whipped me off his head
The founders put some brains in me
So I could choose instead!
Now slip me snug about your ears,
I've never yet been wrong,
I'll have a look inside your mind
And tell you where you belong!
The four houses burst into applause as Professor McGonagall said…
"Silence!" she said. "Now, when I call your name you will come up here and let me put this hat on you and then we'll see where you'll end up."
The Great Hall came to an eerie silence as she called out the first name.
"Calligan, Jessie!" Professor McGonagall called out.
The girl was a thin and pretty girl with long blonde curls down her back, that bounced as she walked. She stepped onto the stage and sat on the stool.
"Ahhh!" the hat said, scaring her just a bit. "Very smart I see, but yet somewhere I see there's courage in you. Let's see, GRYFFINDOR!"
The Gryffindor House cheered as Jessie got up and joined her other housemates.
"Claxon, Addie!"
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
Like the Gryffindor House, the Hufflepuff House cheered as Addie joined them.
"Nittewolf, Josh!"
"RAVENCLAW!"
The Ravenclaw House now cheered.
"Fluke, Sedious!"
"GRYFFINDOR!"
"Cadswhallop, Charles!"
"SLYTHERIN!"
"Potter, Lillian!"
The Hall came silent. A few whispers could be heard mainly just because of the last name Potter.
"GRYFFINDOR!"
The Gryffindor table cheered as Lillian joined them.
"Malfoy, Adrian!" McGonagall called out.
The Hall suddenly became silent as Adrian stepped forward. He sat on the stool and awaited the answer to what house he was headed to.
He was sure he'd be in Slytherin, like his father but somehow he had this strange notion of insecurity about that.
"Ahh, Mr. Malfoy… Son of Draco Malfoy and Ginny Weasley, oops, Malfoy now I guess. Father belonged to Slytherin. Mother belonged to Gryffindor. Your father's father was in touch with Lord Voldemort and yet your mother was captured by the memory of Tom Riddle's sixteen-year-old figure. Hmm, where to put you. There's no doubt you'd do well in each. You're plenty smart, I see you inherited some rotten genes from your twin uncles. Shame, what a pity. But yet you have courage, you don't let anybody in your way. That's a Slytherin quality. You're a toughie…"
The Hall stayed in silence as the hat tried to decide where exactly he belonged.
"Better be… GRYFFINDOR!" the hat said at last.
The Hall remained silent with gasps or two here and there. Both Professors McGonagall and Snape stood there with eyes wide open as they continued to stare at Adrian.
Father isn't gonna like this. That's for damn sure, Adrian thought as he got up and joined Lillian quietly.
How the hell did he end up over here? Rose thought.
Do you mind? Lillian said to her sister.
Yes, I'm trying to get used to the fact that there's now a Malfoy in the Gryffindor House, Rose answered back.
Why would that come as a shock to you? Lillian asked.
Dad, would you please explain to Lillian why it's such a shock that a Malfoy is in the Gryffindor Household? She doesn't get it. Rose said.
Malfoy? In Gryffindor! What's this world coming to? Sorry sweeties but I've got to alert Draco. He's gonna be one pissed off wizard tonight. Harry answered back.
Harry James Potter, watch your language! Nicole yelled at him.
Sorry, love you two! Harry said then left them alone.
AN: So what do you think? Did I scare you about Adrian being in Gryffindor? How do you think Adrian's parent's, Ginny & Draco will react? Stay tuned for the next chapter to find out. Don't know when but stay with me. Let me know your thoughts and opinions. It'd be appreciated.
