Roger took a deep, shaky breath, and with a determined look, he stepped forward, closing the distance between them. “Hi, Mr. Potter,” he said, his voice shaking with uncontrollable fear. “We were uh…” he turned to look at the other two boys who had not made a move to follow him, he jerked his head in their direction and stammered on breathlessly, “we were wondering, um, how true the uh, the rumors were.”

Harry takes Hermione to a 'special' place to celebrate their first anniversary...and Hermione's not happy about it...at first.My writing partner for Make Like Strangers needed a pick-me-up story…a little H/Hr fluff. I asked her if she wanted me to write something for her…she said, “sure,” and this is the result. It took just under an hour to complete. Hermione is struck down in the final battle and falls into a coma for which no healer can find a plausible explanation. She ‘awakens’ and finds herself in an alternate reality with an unlikely wicked stepmother and two ‘awful’ stepsisters. In order to find her way back she must solve a few riddles and discover where her heart truly lies…and why. She’s met along the way by her Fairy God’Father’, Prince Charming, and a man she really doesn’t want to see. When she finally awakens in her true reality, things are not as they appear and Harry and Hermione find themselves in a desperate race to free Hermione from the true nature of the curse and the soul that now possesses her. NO KRUM in this story…he is nowhere to be found.
This is my response to Mycha_kk's fantastic 'My Angel' challenge. An ice sculpting competition is taking place at Hogwarts and Harry refuses to participate until he finds he has no choice as the time comes for him to discover his heart's most basic desire.

11 May 2005...A/N: This story has been temporarily paused. I've not had the time to dedicate to it and rather than provide you with a shoddy story, I'm going to officially pause it. I graduate in two weeks and I hope to get on this story again in the next month or so. Thanks to all of you who have reviewed. I've been slowly updating chapter 1 and hope to start on 2 soon.After the events at the Department of Mysteries, relationships are formed between Harry and Ginny, Ron and Hermione, Neville and Luna. Then, a shocking article Hermione finds in a Muggle magazine makes the three couples question whether they really are where they should be. Odd couplings at first but will end up as it should be...be patient.
The worst kind of tragedy strikes Ron and Luna and Ron has a hard time accepting it. Very sad story...I hate to do this to them but it's been on my mind for a long time.
